If it makes you feel any better, Claudia and Madeline did get some time together. If you rewatch the bar scene, they talk about how they left Paris and lived together long enough for flowers to grow on the graves of their victims. Eventually Madeline convinced Claudia to come back to visit, and, well… you know.
Yes. Finally someone who realizes this. Everyone seems to think they were on their way out of town when that happened. They had been gone for some time before Madeline suggested they go back for one last meet up with Louis. Big mistake! They should have stayed gone.
Yeah, they deserved more, but at least they had some time together.

Lestat would've absolutely adored Madeleine! He'd be like finally, someone who fully embraces our vampiric nature without the affliction of humanity getting in the way! Also if the Coven has anyone they truly fucking hate, its Louis. Claudia at least JOINED them and lived the same life as them (outside of Madeleine). Louis was the one who kept flaunting Armand's favoritism for him in their faces every night for 2 years. Like deadass, I'm stuck performing shitty little plays while he gets to run around and do whatever he wants? I'd be beat his ass too.

Oh Armand knew, he always did. He just let it happen as he let Lestat dissolve the coven. He doesn't oppose the changing times that's why he survives, that's what keeps him from becoming insane. That's also why he becomes attached to Lestat and then Louis, he needs them to understand the world around him. He's clearly outgrown Louis by now and that's the reason I believe he brought Daniel back.
Lmao did you miss Assad saying that Armand is trying desperately to save this life he’s built with Louis? And that he didn’t even want the interview to happen in the first place? 😂
@@PerfectlyImperfect93 I guess we'll see... This to be fair this is my own interpretation and partly what I remember from the books.
@@PerfectlyImperfect93 I feel like at the start, this might be really true. Just like how at the start, he considered Lestat as a threat to his former coven rather than the key to dissolving it and ending decades of stagnation. But as things go on with the interview, he probably realized that things really wouldn't last with Louis and so he let Daniel end things. Because there is no way that he would let Daniel reveal the truth if some part of him didn't want to let this go. He's a powerful vampire who could easily change minds of mortals. He probably underestimated Daniel at first that's why he let Louis have the interview, thinking of him as just the same as the scared boy they met in San Francisco. But when he saw Daniel's true potential, he felt threatened and play mind games with him a bit. And then when he saw that Daniel was actually an opportunity and not a threat like Lestat, he used him to cut this rope he tied around Louis. Because this gremlin never burns bridges by himself, he always manipulates others to do the dirty work for him.
@@PerfectlyImperfect93 I mean, that's what he says. But he says a lot, and lots of what he says is lies. He lies so much. You shouldn't take what he says at face value.
As this show hammers home time and time again, everything we see is perception and lies and self deception and self preservation and how much of it is what actually happened? Probably way less than we think.

I lost it when you heard Dom Louis issue his commands to Armand - girl, I think we ALL reacted that way!!! 🔥👀 I thought Madeleine's turning scene was really lovely (and painfully bittersweet), and the betrayal of the chosen abduction broke my heart! But all it took was Lestat's profile to suddenly have me quivering with excitement AND nerves over what's to come!! I LOVE THIS SHOW - and your reactions!!!
Madeleine and Claudia seem to have the healthiest relationship anyone in VC *ever* had and that is is devastating in its own right. Everyone else is also suffering but they're being toxic messes about it and that makes it somewhat better... but THIS. Oh, my girls.

I always look forward to your reactions ❤❤❤ your understanding of the characters are so on point! Those last moments of the ep killled me too, it was georgeous but painful. Louis feeling that sense of betrayl from Armand and Daniel putting it in perspective is going to be so interesting next ep.
In the land of gods and monsters, Lestat, Louis, Armand and Claudia are no angels. They're living in anne rice version of the Garden of Evil. Lana del Rey needs to make music for this particular show.

Armand kissing Louis is framed like Judas kissing Jesus because that is how he wants us to see him, a helpless bystander who chose wrong and felt absolute remorse afterwards but is it not god who sees what is coming and CHOOSES not to intercede? Is it not god who, instead of fixing each problem humanity created, chose to flood the earth and start anew? Is it not Armand who didn't want to lead the Children of Darkness anymore, so he directed Lestat and his ire to them, letting it all be broken down so he could build again? Is Armand a betrayer like Judas with no foresight or true power or too far removed from so much with maybe too much power at her fingertips like god who moves her pawns where she wishes to get her desired result?
The sad thing is, as much as I wanna delude myself and say no if he had stopped Santiago and saved Claudeleine, Louis wouldn't hold this lingering resentment the unfortunate reality is Armand does not know how to love in a non-all-encompassing way. If Claudia was out there, even if she was happy and never came back, he'd always fear that she COULD and she would take Louis. Even after Madeleine reassured him that Louis does love him, he couldn't take the chance.
Claudia apologises to Armand and thanks him for treating her the same as everyone because she's no longer worried about being a third in their marriage, and wants to have a good relationship with her step-mother as people loved by Louis...girl, your step-mother believes in late stage abortion RUN
Louis heard Armand get a little choked up, saw those big eyes and FOLDED...Daniel was so disappointed lmao.
"Why did I owe *YOU* my shame?" oh this is too good when you think about the fact that Armand is the only one who has actively remembered San Francisco 1973, he remembers that Daniel piqued Louis's interest. That Daniel was sooooo fascinating and was saved by Louis when 128 others hadn't....why would Armand owe the one non-vampire being that has seen him lose control AND clean up Louis's messes, seen Armand's picture-perfect marriage shaken when the husband mocked his dutiful wife. Why should Daniel, ONCE AGAIN, get the privilege of seeing Armand at his core? I love good writing
Am I hallucinating or same or similar nocturne is playing when Daniel is having meal with Rashid that played when Hannibal was on the plane with Bedellia, because it was like a stab to a heart when I heared it

They didn't have to have a boring play, though. They could have given Claudia an adult part.
Spoiler alert for Tale of the Body Thief. Yes, Raglan James was in The Tail of the Body Thief. He was an ex member of the Talamasca who got kicked out because he was a cleptomaniac. He learned how to use his psychic abilities to swap bodies with people, hence the name. He convinced an incredibly gullible Lestat to temporarily swap bodies with him and screwed Lestat by not giving his body back.
I wouldn't be so sure that Claudia and Madeline are great characters. They are monsters like everyone else. Claudia was sadistic and brutal, even as far as vampires go. Everyone seems to forget how she collected body parts of her victims, recorded their last words for her amusement, and kept half dead people in her closet. Madeline (and women like her) had sexual relationships with the same soldiers who were executing and starving her neighbors. She got by sleeping with the soldiers who were oppressing her neighbors. That's why she brought it up to Armand as a way to show she is willing to sacrifice her morals to survive. The people of Paris had a reason to dislike her. The mob assaulting her and shaving her hair was wrong, but marking her window with a swastika may have been appropriate.
