@@headbussa0065 I love hbcu band like the next person. Been a band head for a solid 18 years now, been in the Army for 10 years. Served in 25 ID, deployed to Iraq and Syria. There’s no way you really compared a military unit to a marching band. Now anyone with common sense and patience would think to go around this collective of people but common sense ain’t so common nowadays. Yeah they’re both units by definition but one gets way more respect for the nature of what they do than the other. But again you probably don’t mean it the way I read it in my head. Nothing but love

The bands are my favorite part of Mardi Gras parades. If someone tries to cross through the band, spectators will correct them, and pull them back, if necessary. That’s one of the reasons why there are so many chaperones marching along the side of the bands - to stop people from crossing.

It's amazing how much damage you can do and not miss a beat. Drum corps was also a blast. Small and we marched like on the field, like a snake. Or all those trying to elude to racially driven reasons for the breaking of ranks, it's more like stupidity, it comes in all races, and should be recognized as such.

Only people allowed to break rank are certain leaders of said band. Directors and staff only plus a few others they allow. No one from the crowd is allowed to break rank most have a media team and they are allowed but no one else. So if you are one of those who doesn’t like it oh well too bad.

Just do what my competitive marching band did to judges on the field, slam your slide into their jaw if their at your dot if you're marching trombone, or what the other members did, attempt to hit them with the bell. Before anyones says shit, it's widely accepted in the State of Colorado to hit judges if they are your dot, or blocking your bell from going to the proper angle. Yes, I've done it with my trombone, I've hit multiple judges in the face and sent them tumbling, and it got us points, with the judge stating 'whoever the trombone is who hit me, good job, you are focused on your show' and this was at state finals, so if it's happening at state finals, it's definitely accepted in all of Colorado's shows.
Overall nice music, however a couple members may damage their mouth muscles, there's a muscle that you use everytime you puff your cheeks, if you puff your cheeks while playing, there is a pretty high chance you will permanently mess that muscle up and you will barely be able to talk, and you will never play a wind instrument again, and possibly be unable to talk.

band members MUST be protected by band staff and associates at all times when in or out uniform...They represent the school and the school has REAL responsibility for their safety and well being...This applies to ALL school levels ..middle school through college....some folks just do not see the seriousness of school student safety...Many bands use "road guards " to protect the bandsmen from rowdy or over-excited public...
