You're criminally underrated. Your videos are so solid and yet you're somehow unknown. Personally, I would like to see a GTX 1070 or 1080 in 2022 Keep it up!
It's a pretty disappointing card overall and while there will be people who will defend this card and tell people to just move to a PCIe 4.0 based system, about half the people I know can't even afford to move out of systems pre-Ryzen and 8th Gen Intel Core, sometimes even older. If it was PCIe 4.0 x8, it'd probably not be as big a hit if people were to use this card with older/lower specs but the biggest issue I see is that we barely got any performance improvement from what we had a few years back. Sure the Scalper Pandemic and lack of chips were a big factor but we at least should be expecting AMD to aim for RTX 3050 levels of performance at this price point
I use the rx 6500 xt as my gpu I always have problems in games by jittering. also your test bench pc has the exact same cpu cooler. i thought that was cool.
You have to try those Nimez modded drivers or whatever they’re called. Still can’t believe amd cancelled driver support on cards from 2015-2016. I could at least almost understand it if it were like the 200 series cards, since that’s on par with Nvidia stopping support of 700 series cards this year. They lost a lot of the goodwill they’ve built up with that bullshit
Is it lackluster? Yeah. Is it an RDNA2 GPU that you can buy for ~70/80€ used like new? Yes. And that's why it is a great steal at least on the used market these days.
3.0 PCIE will definitely limits the 4.0 card performance... Still tho, During the time of the shortage it was somewhat a relief in my opinion for those looking to buy/built a budget gaming rig... It would have been better if instead of downgrading its bandwidth, AMD could've made it 3.0 card rather than 4.0... Low profile cards like this can definitely goes into Optiplex kinda rig for tempo usage... It's just my observation tho... Cheers!!
ah thanks for heads up, i have 5600g which i bought last year during when gpu price are simply going crazy , i thought since its was pretty new model it should support pci gen 4 but seem i was wrong, i guess ima just go get 1660 or 1650 super
I actually considered buying the RX 6500 XT, because it was available for an attractive price and I don't want to buy a really old RX 580... but 4 GB Vram are simply too little. That's why I spent just a bit more and got a used GTX 1660 Super.
AMD really don't want you to build budget PC with their parts. They released all "NEW" line of CPUs 5500, 4500 and 4100 with only PCIe v3 support. Best budget would be 11400 or 12100 (f) from intel and nothing from AMD.
Quick tip, but at the end of the video it looks like you're going for a 11400 and b560. You can currently get the 11400f from Novatech for £99, and a basic H510 motherboard for £60 will support PCIE 4.0 with an 11 gen cpu.
The problem is many don't know what the problem is with this card. The speed and power of the GPU is not the problem, the problem Is the bus interface (pcie) as soon as you exceed video memory, the card starts to struggle , the only way to make the game run fine is to lower the graphics setting (especially the texture pack). And it will run fine again. You can compare it to have to little system memory and the computer starts using the hd as system memory. The whole computer starts to lack big time The big problem may not be now, but it will be worse in a couple of years, when the texture pack is getting bigger and bigger. But if you know these problems and can live with them and don't mind binning your graphics card after a couple of years. Then it can probably be an ok card for now. But don't expect that it will last as long as the 200/300/400/500/Vega/rdna 1 series did.
In all honesty, AMD should be aware of surveys like done on steam to see what kind of cpu the majority of people have. That alone would make it a "crime" to wire it up for only pcix4 instead of x16. The Fact that they don´t really have much that offers PCIE4.0 itself aside the very latest stuff is just incompetence at its finest. Like WHO right in his mind buys a whole new computer just to get PCIE4.0 so his 200 bucks GPU can run at its peak performance? That is something you could expect a rtx 4090 buyer to do without a second thought... but on a budget/mid level card? This is the market that appeals the most to the mainstream, to those that may look for an upgrade from their aging mid range card for a new one... and then they get the middle finger from amd with a build in bottleneck that requires to buy a new board/cpu/(ram) in addition to get rid of. Sorry AMD but you guys must really have been on drugs with that decision.
This card is a slap in the face for consumers. I could deal with the poor performance and missing basic functionality if it cost what it should ($50-$80). But the performance loss was not a trade off for cost savings. The performance reduction generated basically no cost savings and we’re almost strictly just to make the card unappealing to play games on. Then AMD tries to sell it to me at a 320% mark up. I know corporations aren’t our friends and there is a small amount of bad behavior that is just inherent to a system like this, but this felt like an especially personal ‘fuck you’ to people who won’t or actually can’t afford the outrageous prices of modern cards.
The only thing that is even more infuriating is that despite all its shortcomings it is still the "best" option for the price and that is simply cause ndivia ceo has his head so high in the clouds with a nose full of crack he can´t even see the ground anymore and believes himself to be a god that shouldn´t be bothered with making deals with peasants. They can buy the used second hand leftovers. Intel´s arc is a light in the dark in that regard... even so you need rebar or otherwise it´s the same garbage... but that is at least not as rare as pci4.0 with mainstream gamers.
12100f and a 6500xt....cheap and amazing 1080p system, if that doesnt appeal to you then get what does...not everyone has a crazy budget and just want to play games...this delivers exactly that. Intro to pc games for a realistic price. The hate for this card is ridiculous.
Still spreading the same s..t, but we also found out, the last time we spoke that you don't know anything about hardware. and the reason why this card is bad.
@@fedepede04 You seem like an angry person. I have been building PCs for decades and everyone that has used them have loved what they received. Your opinion is as valid but doesnt make help anyone. My build keeps pcie 4.0 on a budget build and your opinion just shows that your a sad bitter person. Have a nice day😁
I’m 99% sure the answer is no. I don’t know what your local market looks like, but you can get a hell of a lot of performance in the UK for £200. Look out for the following: GTX 980/980Ti GTX 1060 6GB GTX 1070 GTX 1650 Super/1660 R9 Fury/Nano RX 480/580/590 RX 5500 XT 4GB The older cards (980 series, R9 series) have flaws, such as 200w+ power consumption and driver complications with some games, but they will still match or beat the 6500 XT for similar or lower prices, and have Displayport & HDMI connectors too.
Going used market, I think one might be able to get better deals than that. If you'd rather have a 1060 6GB than 1650S, but that's a very even comparison
the 980 ti doesn't have the dx12 support to run halo infinite. System minimum requirements is 10 series and above. Its like saying my xeon chip can't run this game good even though on paper it has more power than this new cpu. Yeah but that xeon doesn't have the instruction set support to run that game well. Result performance is all over the place and not consistent.
The 980 Ti has DX12_1 support, as do all Maxwell 2.0 GPUs. DX12 is a hard requirement for Halo Infinite- if a GPU doesn't support it, the game doesn't start. The minimum requirements don't say "10 series and above", they say GTX 1050 Ti, and that is presumably the lowest end nVidia GPU the developers have validated the game with. I tested the GTX 1070 in Halo Infinite recently. It still performs about the same as this otherwise unimpressive AMD GPU! EDIT: I'm very tired and stupid, I originally wrote about rolling back drivers, which is for GOTG not Halo Infinite. I've been benchmarking GOTG for the last few hours and it's clearly affected my brain!
A lot of hate and dumb reviews from some people. This card is really good in price/quality category. It is on par with GTX1660 in most cases in 1080p gaming. Is it not enough for you? Common go for RX6600 then...
You're criminally underrated. Your videos are so solid and yet you're somehow unknown. Personally, I would like to see a GTX 1070 or 1080 in 2022

The "Airplane" clips you have in this video is giving me life right now.

Awesome review so far. Keep it up man!
Great video I was looking for a gpu to go with my ryzen 5 5600g and pcie 3 also :]]
Good to know my R9 Fury Nitro stomps it in virtually everything besides the trash that is Halo Infinite.

@@videogamefreak221122 Way ahead of you and fully agree with you friend, AMD really screwed the pooch with that move.
Is it lackluster? Yeah.

I agree, but then you might as well go for a used RX 6600 for not much more.
3:40 probably stutters caused by PCIe 4.0 **x4** (only 4 lines of PCI). Even cards with x8 has, x16 is good point
3.0 PCIE will definitely limits the 4.0 card performance... Still tho, During the time of the shortage it was somewhat a relief in my opinion for those looking to buy/built a budget gaming rig... it's fine, many don't really understand the high settings on must games are basically gimmicks. I've had no issues with mine.

Why not do side by sides of PCIe 3 vs 4?

yeah I'm buying one for $180 and getting 3 AMD new games for free.... I'm not going to complain
Should I buy this GPU?
I'm running RX470 4GB mining edition which only have DVI output. While my 144Hz monitor, only support 144Hz from HDMI/DP.
no. I have seen used gtx 1080 go for around £200 in UK and that'll shit on the 6500xt

Get an DVI to HDMI cable, that may drive up to 120hz, don't waste your money.
6500 XT is just a bit better than a Xbox series S GPU... Not a shock it can play HALO!
If i were in the market for a $200 GPU id get a used GTX 1650 super

What software do you use to record with?
I’m using OBS on an external PC, with an EZCap GameLink Raw as the capture device.
Is there a rx6400 vid coming out?
I’d love to, but I need to sell some graphics cards before I go buying more!
I bought 6500 XT at $118.99. It's too cheap and decent to be honest.

undervolt an RX 580 and you get yourself a better deal than 6500XT.
Yay
I could use it with i5 10400 or 11400
11400 & a 500 series motherboard would be best
Third!
Easily the worst gpu i can remember
Runty card Alan Wake 2 performance. Tempting to pick one up for £90 from CEX for 5600g media pc. 😲🧌
