  • Locomotive Services tour from Crewe to Salisbury, named The Magna Carta was pulled by LMS 46100 Royal Scot.
At the first location, Royal Scot is cruising sedately through Grately station, not long before crossing the border from Hampshire into Wiltshire. After taking a quick look at some of the servicing at Salisbury, I headed to Wilton Junction for a view shortly after her homeward departure from Salisbury.
Surely, a very long day for crew and passengers, having departed Crewe at 7am, she arrived back around 11:30 at night.

Beautifully restored and absolutely spotless. The train looks terrific as well, even the Mk 2 carriages look good in carmine and cream.

Certainly a splendid sight. I wish we could see more of Royal Scot in the South. 😊 Hilary

Lovely clips as usual Hils ☺️. I can remember sitting in the cab when she was in Bressingham, probably 30 years ago, never thought she would run again, pleased to be proven wrong (again!).

46100 Scottie always looks great, and generally runs superbly as well - obviously here with 11 '+ 3' with the 47 not assisting there.
Nice footage and great to see the Royal Scot. Personally I still prefer her as she was, blinkered, in LMS Crimson Lake, when at Bressingham, 45 years ago.

She’s probably one of my favourites, although I haven’t had the opportunity to see her that much. One of my great uncles was an LMS driver; I sometimes wonder if he drove any of the ones we still see today. 😊 Hilary
