  • Hello Funkers, in today's short we explore Oshi no Ko and the world of Japanese show business as we try to figure out Oshi no Ko's greatest lesson. This series originally follows the life and death of Strawberry productions' B-Komachi idol, Ai Hoshino as she hides her twins, Aquamarine and Ruby from her obsessive fans. After her untimely death however, we start to follow Aqua Hoshino on his journey to exact revenge on his own father for sending the very stalker that took Ai's life. During his quest for revenge, we get an inside look at the Japanese entertainment industry, seeing the likes of other talents such as Kana Arima, Mem-Cho, Akane Kurokawa as well as the inner workings of agent Ichigo Saito to get a complete look at this dark industry. But what exactly is the lesson behind it all? Does Oshi no Ko offer a solution to surviving show business?

Maybe oshi no ko is the only anime that potrays real life in 🗾 correctly altho from entertainers perspective....

I think that could very well be right. This anime/manga is so candid in how predatory the industry is, it's almost refreshing to see a cynical depiction of Japanese showbiz.

You should make a Spider-man across the Spider-verse video, i'm about to make one and I think it would be cool if your videos branched from making content on animation in general as well as anime!

Thanks for the suggestion! I've definitely thought about branching out into comics and other forms of animation, but I think I'd have to start a different channel just too keep a similar stream of content for my subscriber. I'll still think about it though!

I think the problem with our current society is they are never satisficed. They want to know everything about the person behind the character, they moral standings, personalities traits, preferences and wants etc. Another problem is people want to be the celebrity so they mirror themselves onto these people and when they discover the celebrity is nowhere near their personality or image of them it becomes brutal. I thin this show shows that.

Absolutely, I 100% agree with your assessment. Super fans of things and people often project themselves onto their favorite media and end up setting themselves up for heartbreak and disappointment. It's pretty sick honestly 🤢
