i have always loved and dreamed of owning a gravel but just could not afford one...these builds are just awesome...just plain watching one being created by an individual like you makes me cry...hahahaha more builds please..!!!
This beautiful build must ride like a charm (mix of steel frame and CF fork is a perfect combination). Steel feels so amazing offroad. Thanks for sharing it. I am currently unhappy with the steel fork on my Kona Rove ST. It feels so heavy and slow from time to time. Maybe, I will switch to a CF fork too. Sorry for the monologue, happy sunday and a good ride y‘all!
Beautiful build!!! I almost spent 3 grand a on a Cervelo Apero(dope bike), but i keep coming back and looking at metal bikes(steel, aluminum, titanium).
I really really enjoy your videos and I am very happy that even you joined Francis you still keep doing that stuff here! Keep up the amazing work! Cheers from Germany (okay, Mallorca at the moment but... you know what I mean)
Beautiful finish on that mate ! Although keeping clean I'm not so sure ! Bit worried at the start as for a split second I thought nic hadn't got anything on under the apron 😂😂 lol
How you call the socket that you used to tighten up the Ingrid arm into the bottom bracket. I just received my new Ingrid cranks and l need to buy that socket that fits into the Ingrid gold piece
Amazing build! As i'm getting into the diy world for fixing my newly purchased but used gravel bike I was wondering what products, aside grease, you have used for prepping the steer tube and bottom braket, thank you!(:
If you have a local bike co-op/community shop, definitely bring your bike there! There'll be lots of skilled volunteer mechanics and they can answer your questions. My experience is with threaded cup and cone square taper BB's, but basically you just smear a good quality grease on all the components such as threads, tubes where press-fit bearing races are going, etc. You can purchase specialty bicycle "assembly" greases that Are purpose formulated for the task, but a good quality all purpose grease is serviceable as well in most cases. Always read the manufacturer's instructions, and be cautious of anyone trying to steer you differently unless it really makes logical sense to deviate from their indications. Good luck on your build! I just finished my first two, some vintage steel road bikes from the 80's that are now somewhere between a gravel/cyclocross/all road touring bike in functionality. Tire clearance is king!
@@Big_Red_Dork thank you! Good quality bike grease is what i went for! Now though i am realizing that he's working on a carbon frame with press in bearings, i guess that Is what i wanted to know too since there seems to be some more prepping to do for the frame
If its custom, its likely got many different "grades", Maybe he can chime in with the tubeset(s) that were allocated for this. My guess is it may come from Reynolds due to being less expensive to source in the UK, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Columbus Life/Zona with maybe a little spirit sprinkled in. Then there's the rear triangle....which could be completely different.
Holy shitballs mate that's a beaut! I was wondering what you thought made the most difference to it being the best you've ridden? The tailored geometry? The frame material? Wheels? Or a combo of everything? Ta. Love the branding on it.
geometry is perfect, bike is stiff, overall it's light, BB is T47, Billy specced the build absolutely perfectly. It's absolutely flies and is mega comfy. I can see myself riding it on road rides from time-to-time.
Part preference will always be subjective, but in my opinion in the Zipp lineup, the XPLR 70s are amazing for gravel! Mezcals are also an excellent all terrain choice, and no doubt they contribute to how hit rides..nice supple fast tires! Now my critique....I think the experience in a full custom is completely different than a stock frame. As a matter-a-fact, full custom in any material is a completely different experience and feel than a stock equivalent. The tubesets, size and specification is just a completely different level. Just ask yourself, okay you get that kind of ride from steel...now do the same in titanium ;)
Oh my god can we just have nat sound please? Why o why do we need the hand-holding company of chipmunk vocals and backwards drum tracks to every construction video in the world? I am a former news videographer- the skill and imagination of shooting/editing has humbled me. Just ASMR these please.
Bike is gorgeous! My only critique is that you should have gone for the X01 cassette as well. In my experience it's much more durable than GX and a bit lighter as well. Definitely worth the extra $$ IMO. I'm also not a huge fan of the xx1 chains because they tend to wear so fast, but the black chain looks so damn good.
Wrong. GX cassettes last just as long if not longer than X01 as the largest cog (50 or 52t) is steel instead of aluminium. XX1 and X01 chains are leagues better than GX or NX chains as the former have their pins and plates treated. Zero Friction Cycling (only independent tester of chains) has confirmed this. Actually the X01 and XX1 Eagle chains are the longest lasting non-single speed chains on the market.
Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)
True craftsmanship. Love this steel gravel bike. Great that he took precaution against breathing the carbon dust
I love the vibe of fire burning and people talking on background
That textured paint is 🤤
Also really like the "seat-stay area".
Beautiful bike. Congrats, Jimmi!
i have always loved and dreamed of owning a gravel but just could not afford one...these builds are just awesome...just plain watching one being created by an individual like you makes me cry...hahahaha more builds please..!!!
Love the textured finish!
My gravel bike is a steel framed bike with 650b, love it.
Murdered out with the hammered/textured finish looks great!
Jolie finition de cadre qui sort de l’ordinaire, magnifique !
Gorgeous build - the paint job is next level, and the seat stay design is beautiful. Jealous!
Steel gravel bike friend ! Just did a little upgrade to my own, from stock wheels to a pair of GR1600, on a Bombtrack Hook EXT. Handles like a dream.

That does look good, finish reminds me of the crackle paint on cam covers of old Italian V12 engines. Obviously rides as nice as it looks👌
This is now my new favorite bike!!! The... I guess paint is so nice. I love that look!! Yeah, I need that as my wallpaper. 😮
Man that is gorgeous.

Gorgeous bike. Congrats Jimmi!
I'm drooling...
Beautiful. What a work of art 🖼️🚴♂️
Thanks Jimmi , Nic , et al . The best bike ever ? Good on ya !
Those seat stays look amazing
That frame looks gorgeous. Those cable guides are so clean.
that's gonna rip. looks awesome
Sub-10 stealthy bomber, waiting for the riding impression video though, cheers!
That is a cooooool bike!
Cool video and music 😁
Love the video and the bike. Good work dude!
Those builds are so satisfying to watch. I'm quite impressed by the weight of the bike, only 2kg for a steel frameset it's indeed impressive
Why do you say it is the best bike you have ridden? You can't leave us hanging. The finish is pretty sweet.
Sweet build! The head badge is reminiscent of the Rodeo Labs Flaanimal.
Beautiful bike Jimmi. The Zipp 70mm reach handlebars are a personal favourite, extremely comfortable.
I have them on everything.
Love paint style.
Industrial powder-coating. So cool.
That is one beautiful frame
looks awsome! have fun!
Sick build and tunes big up th NCC riders 💪
Decent taste in watch and bike
:D
Hm- only a couple of kilos heavier than a carbon race bike but bomb proof frame and tires that can take you anywhere? I’m in.
stunning, Stealthy, Steel. That textured finish on the frame is awesome, would love to know how its done.
It look so good. And it’s surprisingly smooth to the touch. Not rough like i expected. It’s an industrial power coat. The bat mobile of bikes
@@Jimmidoesstuff how much does it weigh approximately , I mean the paintjob. guessing the bare frame is 1800-1900g?

Great bike and build. Some trousers are in order, however. 😂

Brutal machine 🔥
Steel is real
Nice Bike😍
Sun ain't like sealant 😂 tubeless for cold place only 👍
nice bike bud, surprised on the weight for steel, what's the weight of your Titanium?
Perfect finish to hold dirt and mud, have fun with that🙃
We need a ride review, Nic! Zeg ons hoe de fiets voelt ;-)
What is the make and modal of that fork?
The frame texture looks amazing. I'm wondering how easy or difficult it is to clean it
Easy. Same as paint
Bella Bella..

dunno. Email Parcours they’ll let you know pretty quickly.
woooow that paintjob. What is called or the method to achieve this kind of look? I've seen this on jeeps but never on a bike :)

Not for offroad. They’re constantly look disgusting. Bike’s gonna be caked in mud all the time. Wanted everything dark.
