Man, I miss my childhood. It's actually cool to see someone so inspiring as a kid on a skateboard, now as a adult he has such a rad attitude. Great interview between this and Mike vallely idk man it's a hard hard toss up. Young skaters out there, embrace the times and your homies. And never let that little shit get in between y'all 👍👍
Man I miss my childhood. Best times of my life hands down. Wake up eat quick and skate all day regardless the temperature. I always skated shortys boards and rocked their clothing. Mike Vallely was my idol but Muska and the shortys team always seemed like a tight group. T stance homie. If only I could go back in time for a week to relive my youth and long summer skate days.
I literally just subbed because muska was on. I never gave this show a chance until now. Thanks muska for continuing to pave the way and thanks nine club for being such an awesome show and brining skaters down to a level that’s real and beyond the video part and the products
I remember when I was a kid and looked up to Muska. He always wore a red hat and I wanted one too so I went to zumiez. Ended up buying a red hat with an Osiris logo, because the sales person said that was the company he rode for lol.
I still have a Shortys XL deck set up with INdys and 56mm ramp wheels... Haen't skated it in years and now it's mounted on my shop wall (Riding a super wide Baker, 58's and Indys now)
John Carter Loved his part in FTD and his unique style as well.. Still a vivid memory of my homies and I rewinding the part where he 180’s off a roof and his legs kinda bow and almost jiggle..We would slow mo it and pause and play it just dying laughing.. His name became a verb in our group after that and we almost strived to land a trick that way..Obviously impossible for anybody but Steve Olson to do though... Great memories!!
20 Years later Chad is Still my #1 favorite skater. Thank You guys for the interview as those were questions unanswered for more than 20 years and I was so curious about it all! Peace!
My like 5 friends and i all picked our favorite skaters from fulfill the dream (mine was Olson) and bought their pro decks and tried to emulate them for my introduction to skateboarding.
Stilahlive215 Uriarte I think the DC wearing kids was a little later, at least in my area...But you are right cause as soon as DC where in places other than skate shops it was like every suburban white kid ,who was looking to identify with something, had a pair.
Funny because I never skated but hearing about the skate brands and just watching muska (my main in THPS) takes me back to my teenage years , don't gonna lie, am 34 and tempted to buy a skate and learn
I'm 34 and that shortys video started me 20 years ago. Elissa Steamer said it best, "a true skateboarder can have more fun on a painted curb all day than the fakest has on the best spots in the world". Skateboarding rules.
I think it was 1997 but I bought a Voice board from Daxter Lussier when he would come to town to visit...I would go skate with him everytime he came to visit. I did my first rail with Dax' the Eldorado 7 in La.. That same day he 50'50d Hollywood 16 first try and it ended up in The Storm...it was smthn' I never seen and I actually closed my eyes out of fear for him so I missed it🤦🏽♂️
God damn, watching this make me feel bad I hated on Muska so much. He seems like such a nice, sincere guy. Chad Muska, I'm sorry I hated on you for all those years
im 31 now..When I was in 6th grade hoover middle school in San Jose california, my teacher was Mrs Rosa. me and my old friend had watched fftd 100 times, he brought it to my attention and after class we asked her if it was her. she smiled and told us not to say anything...we were so stoked!
returnfreedom No way!!!! Fucking awesome man and great to have a memory like that to keep you connected with skateboarding till the day you die... Not saying you wouldn’t be otherwise but something like that makes it damn sure.
Muska is the legend of all skateboarding 97-2005 best years of my life muska muska muska
My first real board was a Muska kamikazi. After three walmart boards. Stepped it up to Shortys. Cause that shit had pop. Muska for life!
Him, Mullen and koston were everything to me back then
So nostalgic. A great time in my life.

Fulfill the Dream 100% changed my life at the time. Everyday after school, watch Fulfill the Dream, then go skate!
I remember when I was a kid and looked up to Muska. He always wore a red hat and I wanted one too so I went to zumiez. Ended up buying a red hat with an Osiris logo, because the sales person said that was the company he rode for lol.
I dont think zumiez was around back then lol
It's been around since 78

Muska still a legend. Also seems like a super nice dude
Steve Olson aka Crazy Monk. Steve had one the most unique styles. Just heard some of Crazy Monks music not bad. This interview was one of the best.

This dude was my childhood hero
How could anyone hate on Muska. The dude is so damn friendly and just plain rad. Can’t imagine being on a team with him and those guys.
My like 5 friends and i all picked our favorite skaters from fulfill the dream (mine was Olson) and bought their pro decks and tried to emulate them for my introduction to skateboarding.
Honestly i think everyone does this! Or at least buy and emulate our favorite pro decks and styles!
Just luv these interviews! Muska ftw!!
Has Muska had that backpack on since Tony Hawks pro skater 1?
Doing those one foot 5.0 grinds with the Boombox on his side of his shoulder good old days that was my favorite skater

Nah, it's always been about Alien Workshop for me. World Industries was what little kids skated around here.
Muska needs a BUMPBOXX FLARE 8!! 👍🏽😎 Modern day boombox!
Steve Olson a guest for the nine club perhaps? That would be sick!

I think it was 1997 but I bought a Voice board from Daxter Lussier when he would come to town to visit...I would go skate with him everytime he came to visit.

Especially in the skateboard industry only very few (and definitely not the riders) made a fortune and many served them.
