Assass was super popular in S1 because Shadowdance was unplayable. It took them 2 major patches to get it good.
On the other hand, Rocket Gloves and GLG trinket didn't share a cooldown, and assass didn't use deadly poison in PVP. So you Cheap > Kidney for +10% damage, then mutilate Cold blood eviscerate, GLG, rocket gloves and you do like 10-15k damage in 3 seconds. And your arena partner does this too. The whole time you have Wound, Crippling and Mind-numbing poison on that target. Most healers got significant defensive buffs too, season 1 healers sucked so all-in strategies like Mut/Prep actually worked.
Later in 2's Assass will be popular with a healer because of quick recovery and the sustained pressure... but dance is in it's final form right now. It took a year in OG wrath to make it good and fix all the bugs.

The reason why assas is destroying plate on TLK is because envenom does magic damage, so you can actually bypass the armor, and it will do crazy damage as soon as better gear kicks in

The caliber of players in the 1800s bracket is insane these days. I was playing at 2500 in original Wrath but there's no way I would be close to that now. That's why I will watch your videos and not install :).
Early in the season though, rating increases with time. Everyone started at 0 / 1500 hidden mmr

What planet are people living on? So everyone tells me that Retail is pay to play that is why people play classic, I never spent any money except subscription, buying game and a wow token. I started WOTLK classic and found out real quick you need money to play. I got all my pvp gear and people in raids trying to charge for gear I helped earn? No thx, that game is a proper scam. I now see what they mean, not that it's pay to play that blizzard took away their ability to rip off other players and control the economy. Wrath is a joke. Never been so peeved off about wasting time on a game. All I wanted to do is play some pvp on a lvl playing field without spending a fortune. After the grind to get to 80 I feel like I more then earnt it
Thank god they made classic and didn't destroy retail by making it anything like that junk. Streamers like Asmongold that complain about store mounts and wow tokens then they need a bit of gold and what do they do? because they don't support buying gold they take advantage of their viewers and ask them for their gold of which was bought? Asmon complains about wow tokens because he is one of the people taking advantage. Mega rich , acts like he doesn't live like a rich person but he is exactly that. Someone that takes everything for free and hordes his own money. Asmongold is a scumbag
