I remember watching the Ny'alotha WF race and you got to see various PoVs from players in Limit and everyones UI looked super advanced and then it would switch to Trill and it looked like the guy had only installed like, DBM and AngryAssigments like 5 minutes before the raid started lol

yeah cuz Trill is used to no Addons since he's in the AWC all the time.
Yeah. I used to have Elvui, 20 different UI profiles. Then tried to PvP using those and it was a big no from me. Deleted those all and went back to default. Way better for all types of content.

For PvE especially addons are a quality of life improvement

Bcon 2018 was when I started watching awc and following The Move. That run through lower bracket and pika beating Whazz was soo good, I watch this often but it’s great to see pikas take on it!

funny enough. PvE is hard BECAUSE of the addons. Developers make shit harder - addons make it easier - developers need to make it even more harder

I haven't played WoW since Legion I think. Rogue was my main. Your videos are very heartful. The way you explaining the moments is like I am the one playing the Rogue and at the same time, getting lessons how to play Rogue better even knowing I won't touch WoW forever.

Strongly agree, although, they should make strong abilities and other impactful procs more telegraphed and clear in game first. Like it is very easy to see and hear The Hunt being pressed or Combustion being used, but so many other things that kill you in PVP are just small debuffs that get lost in the clutter of a million pets on your screen.

Been saying this since vanilla, addons just aren't needed but you are requiered to use them if you want to raid with a guild or do arena serious...
It does suck how much skill they take away from the game. It’s a lot easier when something tells you what you should do 🥔
Thank you for breaking this shit down man. I've played wow off and on super casually for years and I've never made much sense of arenas. So many things happen so quickly it just isn't clear to me what's going on without a play by play breakdown. Let me just assure you, nothing about the plays you guys made seemed easy or obvious, I couldn't do that shit in a million years.

100000% agree with the removal of addons. Everyone has become so boosted and reliant on them it’s ridiculous. The amount of people who can’t play without them is insane….
With add-ons now it's mostly about your gear.
Some weak auras even do rotation for you...

While I'd agree the people that could track it all especially in pvp are a smaller and smaller group. It basically creates a group who gave 5 times more experience winning literly based off past knowledge vs those who haven't played as long but are better mechanically
For PvP it makes sense, for mythic raiding or WF raiding or freaking high m+ addons are mandatory.

Of course, in any sport everyone must compete under the same conditions, even if they are more uncomfortable, all under the same rule and in fact, those who play without add-ons generally have more skill and vision of the game.

@Pikabooirl bro what about macros then ? Cause I haven't played wow for 10 years but I'm pretty sure you can actually copy pasta most addons into existence through abusing the macro system. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the lua code is interconnected. I believe it's like saying get rid of chrome extensions but you can still paste any JavaScript you want in the console

The thing is that m+ are so mutch more things hapening then biffor in dundions and raids so it was not so mutch to keep track on biffor so it whod be a more off a handicap

I'd be 100% down for addons to be removed.
That will never happened is like to go back in time when the first airplanes were made and didn't have any tools, compared to today airplanes with 1000 indicators (addons+weakauras) , just impossible
Banning addons on competitive would be a great tactic, as most of the "tips and tricks" trickle from the competitive side, often misapplied. So, without Addons on competitive (I would even say dont allow 3rd party overlays during structured PvP at all) parts, they would lose their appeal and "FOMO" "you need this" approach. This does a great thing in that it lets non-competitive add ons remain, and regulates the client side without needing direct coded regulation, which is easy to circumvent in any case.

When I first started playing WoW you didn't even know what your enemy was casting. For example, you would just see a mage's hands light up but had no idea what was coming at you.
Just need to remove combat addons from the game in general. I think UI addons are rad but things that track boss mechanics and such, and agree with the pvp aspect too. Great content dude, big fan of the energy
