Germany before 1990 has had a Military (both sides combined) with about 1.000.000 personal (a little bit less then the US one) - Enough for a Country half the size of Texas and only 1/4th of the Population or should Germany put every toddler and avery 90 year old men in a retirement home in Uniform? Yes and then came the unification where Germany needed the approvement by the Allies (all 4 of them) and the UK made one big condition - The German Military must be smaller! - Not a little bit smaller! Drastically smaller. Germany agreed and could unify. And now the UK forgot that they forced Germany to have a small Military and asks "Whydo you do not have a bigger one?".
What I found a bit disconcerting about this video is that it talks about the EU and Europe as if they were the same. The EU is part of Europe, not vice versa.
This video has too less informations and details ... which makes it kind of "wrong". Examples: Mininum age of drinking alcohol in Germany is 14 - as long as you are with your parents! At the age of 16 you can buy und drink beer, wine, etc. at your own. Only hard liquior, like Whiskey, is age 18+. Age for the driving license depens on the vehicle, too. If you make a driving license for scooters, mopeds, etc., the age is 15. Driving a car is possible at the age 17 as long as a grown-up is in the car, too. But you can start to make your licencse at the age of 16, of course. And yes: Maybe the german don't make so much money as americans ... but if you have cheap access to quality food / grocery store items, cheap health insurance, free education/universities, cheap rent, almost free public transportation, cheap highspeed internet, etc. ... maybe you just don't need so much money!? o_O
And to specify: 14 with your parents in Public! - At home theoretically you can allow your child at younger age to sip the foam of a beer. Theoretically because do it more often and the child protection agency will visit you (and maybe take your children away).
