Mirio Togata (通とお形がたミリオ Tōgata Mirio?), also known by his hero name Lemillion (ルミリオン Rumirion?), is a student in Class 3-B[4] at U.A. High School and is part of The Big 3. Before Izuku Midoriya, Mirio was the top candidate for All Might's successor and inheritor of One For All.

Lost his Quirk, still under the effect of a drunkeness Quirk, facing a guy who can instantly kill anything he touches, and Mirio still kept fighting for no other reason than because Eri was in danger. If there was ever a question if someone could be a hero without a Quirk, there's your answer.
Beautifully put
Only problem being, he only held out that long because he had a quirk. After he lost it, he started barely hanging on.
@artdiaz8837 he held on very well without his quirk still. Had he not been protecting Eri while fighting he could have been a much bigger threat to Overhaul even without a quirk. Like Overhall intentionally targeted Eri when Mirio had his quirk so he couldn't use it. And when Mirio didn't have his quirk it was the same situation. In a straight up fight Mirio is probably the most dangerous person in most situations. Like against Dabi he wouldn't be too great. But against pre buff Shigaraki even without a quirk there's a high chance Mirio would win that.
Absolutely a legend. Straight up rag dolling a quirked up villain while at a major handicap. Mirio is best boi, no doubt. Not just because he was -damn- good at what he did, but because he knew how to "go to the edge with a smile" and put it all out there. Fucking chion ar

Mirio is a true hero. The dedication and work he put in to saving one little girl is incredible. Even after losing his quirk and had terrible injuries he still fought for her life. He has the heart of a true hero.

@@CaptainPuffwump yes, he got hit by a quirk erasing bullet aimed for eri by the guy that was with overhaul.
Then went on to fight for another 5 minutes alone against overhaul without his quirk and while protecting eri.

@@howlingzangetsu yeah that fight makes him the most badass character in the show. he fights someone who can destroy anything they touch for a solid 5 minutes while having literally nothing to defend himself from that power.
It may have been unintentional, but I absolutely love the double meaning here for "you're one in a million". Not only is Mirio saying that Eri is so unique that she's one in a million, but it also sounds like he's saying that she's the first person he will save to get to his goal of saving 1,000,000 people; i.e. she's #1 in the million.

He also is called Lemillion in the japanese version
I like the idea of that. As far along as he is and as active he'd been with his work-study, though, it's extremely doubtful that Eri was the first person he's saved (though maybe the first in such an extreme situation). I think the double is just that she's one of his million of lives to save, not specifically #1.

Mirio is what an anime protagonist should be. An underdog story where he chases his goals through effort and determination. He doesn't get some OP power up suddenly or has some OP latent secret. Just grits through his hardships and gets to a point where he is seen as untouchable.

@@benslatter6363 idk, Asta would've died if he didn't get the anti-magic sword which makes his lack of magic sort of the whole latent secret which allows an op power up.
@@andremartinez418 I don't see him being op because he had to work his whole life to get physically stronger cuase don't forget the wizard King him self couldn't hold the sword for long (I haven't watched it all)

Just remember that by helping to save Eri, Mirio arguably saved millions as a result
At the same time, losing his quirk might have doomed millions at the same time, so it could cancel out.

@@smood2471 Overhaul also had a case of antidotes to counter the quirk erasing bullets, so there's always that as well.
@@shawnsuckstm3353 I know he takes the bullets but I'm not sure he takes the serum, I could be wrong. Either way there's the possibility Eri could reverse the damage and give his quirk back.
Edit: I was wrong, Shigaraki does take both boxes.

The GOAT of my hero and with no quirk still kick overhaul ass. I don't give damn what people say about Lemillion vs Overhaul to me that fight was awesome
Yeah I know people were made but when 100 came in play people like oh shit 100% Deku. In opinion that episode was lit but the GOAT Mirio gave that shit is
The fight by itself was amazing. People just didn't like the way they animated it.
That fight will go down in the history books as one of the best fights or better yet best anime fights

i LOVE it when all he did was try to make Ari smile after all those traumatizing events. He pulled through and didn’t let losing his quirk effect him. mirio is truely a hero

Mirio is the man who deserved one for all power.... And he always gave me goosebumps and confidence that i can do something.... And now I'm in my dream college after passing my entrance exam....
Maybe so, but Izuku deserved it as well. Its better izuku has it since the strain of having permeation and OFA would ultimately kill Mirio early.
@@Ember2168 Izuku definitely deserved it after the endless torrent of crap dealt to him through his life up to him meeting All Might. Even his "childhood friend" turned into his most aggressively vicious bully, only getting the balls to fight back when he became more determined in his dream. He's even earned the approval of All Might's former allies along with all the past users of OFA.

I'm going to be honest, I love Mirio. He's just so sweet and kindhearted. I love how willing he is to keep smiling, even when he lost his mentor. The fight between him and Overhaul was my favorite scene and I love his brotherly protectiveness over Eri. He didn't only just save her physically but mentally too.

He sacrificed his quirk to save a single soul, one he had failed to protect... And with that act, an outstanding quirk like Eri's would change the whole world.

When I first saw the scene I teared up. This scene arguably hit the hardest in the show. The thought of a Hero fighting so desperately to save little Eri, knowing help wouldn't come in time. He was relying on himself, his power. His strength. While not the best animated, it was the most well done.

The English dub voice actor is such a nice guy. It was awesome meeting him so I have major love for this character!

I love this song. What imho we need now is a song for Eri. The tragedy and rescue. The despair and yet daring to hope. And that final leap of faith to Midoriya.
This is so well written, the performance is amazing and the editing is great too. I especially love 1:08 where the chorus begins and Mirio holds his breath as he leans into the wall. Awesome
