Great Video! I ordered my replacement DRL( $35)on Amazon and got to work. It was easier than I had imagined without removing the entire bumper. I did use a mini socket wrench to remove the old DRL and was able to fit my hand( i"m female) and the wrench to easily remove it . I started to loosen the screw by hand and then used the mini socket wrench to finish.I did not completely remove the top right screw because it was the most difficult to reach and you can loosen the screw just enough to slip the DRL off (after you remove the other two screws first). Using 6 inch needle nose pliers to connect the new plug was a breeze.Definitely worth the time and effort:)
Thank you I just replaced my right one (cost from ebay = 30 USD) and your video helped me a lot. The only thing is that the top exterior screw doesn't need to be fully removed, it is much easier if you just loose it but don't remove it, so you can clip the new module and it is much easier to screw it back than if it was fully removed. Good job though. I only had to buy that pair on bent needle nose plyer to put the wires back in.
Thanks for this, I followed your instructions and just did my left headlight DRL control module, I have an SQ5 2013, my headlight would not come out fully, only the 2-3 Inch’s like yours, it was an absolute ball ache and I had to sacrifice a little knuckle skin to the God of Awkward access, but it’s done and fully operational again, so a win is a win 👍😀🏴
Hi, I have 2014 Audi a4. Left DRL went off. What do you think do i need to buy these module too? And also should I buy use one on Ebay or new Chinese version ? Thank you for the video !🙏
Have a certified 2019 Audi A3. The DRL dimmed really bad on drivers side and the dealer ended up replacing entire headlight assembly. Great…but now the DRL on the new headlight is a bright white compared to an amber colored DRL on the passenger side (older light/original light). If I replace the DRL module on the older light will that make it match the bright white color of the new one? Dealer will not replace the other headlight assembly to match and it looks awful. Thanks for any help!
That’s a good question, if you purchased an OEM DRL ballast I would assume it would be the same color as it seems they updated the LED color. Or I’d compare part numbers, or ask the questing on the Audi of North America Page on Facebook. Sorry I couldn’t be of more assistance
Has anyone come across an issue where the DRLs flicker intermittently? If so, do you haver a solution? Both left and right sides are doing this on my 2015. Thank you.
@@Stpetersburginjurylawyersmp Thanks for responding. For those of you who have run into an issue where BOTH of your LED DRLs are flashing intermittently, I caused the issue myself. I recently had my left-side corning light go out, so I ordered a set and waited. While waiting, I went in an disabled bulb check so my dash would stop alerting at each startup until I got the bulbs. I used Carista OBD2 to do this (VCDS can do the same). While doing this, I also decided to lower my LED intensity below a threshold which doesn't supply enough power to the LEDs, causing them to flash intermittently. For me, I was originally at 30%, but dropped it down to 10. THIS CAUSED THE ISSUE. I brought up the LED intensity back up to 30%, and BAM! LED DRLs were good to go. I hope this helps others who have run into this issue.
@@Stpetersburginjurylawyersmp Thanks for your response! As it turns out, while disabling my washer nozzles I happened to see my DRL brightness to 10% (using Carista ). Through further research I found at 10%, it is too low of a voltage for the LEDs to illuminate, not enough for the controller. Doing this is what ultimately caused the issue. I went back in and set it to its original setting, which in my case was 30% and restarted. Now my LED DRLs are back to normal, no more flashing. I hope this helps someone else.
Why you change this module? My headlights have half of the light white and half of the light yellow. I don’t know if changing this module will return the complete white light.
Hi Keith, sorry to hear that, I totally would, but I got ride of the car. The part is cheap I got mine off ebay for like $30-40. It's 3 torx screws, try finding a tech that I willing to charge you for his time not for book time.

Wow! Nice work, smaller hands probably would have made the task easier, but good approach. I’m glad the video could help!

That's true, I only removed it because I thought the headlight assembly was going to come out. I'm glad I was able to help.
Just had an Audi dealership quote me $80 for the part and $700 labor. Thanks for the video, think I’m going to try to tackle this myself.
Facts and thanks for the heads up because my right one just went out on my Q5..
Glad I found this video. Was worried I'd have to spend 2 grand on a new assembly.
I'm glad it found you! I contemplated not making it.

Awesome I’m glad it worked out! It’s not so bad, but you have to take your time.
Thanks for the information. After watching this I'm gonna let the garage rip me off for this one. Looks way beyond my skill set!
Yeah, it’s not THAT bad, but it does take some patience
Thanks for the help. I changed the DRL for $57 and 45 mins.
Yeah, it’s not that bad you just have to be careful with screws/bolts
Thanks for sharing. This is helpful. Getting the drl error for passenger side on mine. Not looking forward this.
Cheers
I couldn’t find a decent how to on the Internet so I had to make one.

I don’t think it matters so long as it comes with a warranty. I’m not sure how to do this on that A4, But I imagine it’s very similar
How do I change the Daytime running lights on a Audi Q7 please
I have no idea, sorry brother.
What’s your email
Removing the inner fender helps too
Mine has a gaping hole in it from tire rubbing, which was great when I dropped the screw. I didn’t ever think about coming at from there.
Thank goodness I found this video. Difficult but not impossible. Had to be very careful not to drop screws.
@@AjayPatel-ps3ok That’s why I made it, I’m glad it helped someone.

They might be going out

Sounds like you might have an different model where the DRL is different. This LED module is a complete DRL for the headlight
What's the going replacement price (estimated) please?
I read in a forum that Audi estimated about $500.
I could do this with a 2011 model right?
Not sure, I think it might be different
@@Stpetersburginjurylawyersmp damn Fr literally same car just a little bit older thanks anyways tho
what size torx bit?
18 or 20 I think. I don’t recall exactly
@Emir Bosankić I'm not sure.
Can you redo this video? Perhaps in the daylight. My mechanic wants to charge $1000 to change my bulb & unit. Help!
