It is in the game. I have heard it played once in Episode 1, after meeting grey mother and then exiting her house during the day. I have also heard it during Episode 2, on the way one of the radio towers. I have mostly heard it in Episode 3, but I also heard it in episode 4, at the very end.
Took a quick look through the older survival music - not sure that track is in the official released soundtrack. It might be an extended version of the track 'Tomorrow' by Sascha Dikiciyan - most notably the 0:40 mark. I am inclined to believe it hasn't been in the game for a while as of now. Of course I could be mistaken but that is just my two cents.

Aight well later tonight I will do some more searching - a while back I pulled all the tracks directly from the game files so if you say that it does play still, then I would imagine I would find it somewhere in my pulls. I'll get back to you if I see anything.

It starts with an Em strum and The melody is played on the high E/B during the intro. Later the song is bases on em-g-d-em progression

To clear up any confusion, this is in the game. It plays in Ep3 and Ep4 for short amounts of time.
