Great Controversy - Cosmic Conflict

- Lucifer, who became Satan or the Devil through pride and jealousy, wanted to take the place of God. He wanted to take over and take control. He thought he could run the universe better than God. So, he started a rebellion, a war in heaven - the Universal War - a cosmic conflict. But Satan lost the battle against God, and he and his army of rebel angels were expelled from heaven and cast to this world.
And so, planet earth became the arena, the battlefield, of the Universal War, this war between two opposing systems - between good and evil, God and Satan. It’s all about who should rule the world - God or Satan. And there’s evidence everywhere of the opposing and contrasting activities of these two great spiritual powers. All around the world we see love and hate, peace and war, joy and pain, happiness and suffering.
But it wasn’t always that way. Originally, God created a perfect world for our first parents Adam and Eve. There was no sin, pain, suffering or death. But Satan deceived them into disobeying God and joining his rebellion.
This disobedience and rebellion brought sin into the world - and with it, came selfishness, pain, suffering and death. Sadly, sin infected Adam and Eve and all their descendants and totally wrecked their relationship with God.

Is the Great Controversy by E.G White a good book to read ?
Yes it is. I recommend 100%
Yes, if you read Adventism Renounced by D.M. Canright for some balance.
Absolutely! She wrote other books as well. There's a series called the Conflict of Ages, five books covering creation through the end of the controversy and following the Bible. They are Patriarchs and Prophets, Prophets and Kings, The Desire of Ages, Acts of the Apostles, and The Great Controversy. I'm rereading them, in order this time and am getting even more out of them!
@@thenowchurch6419 Did you ever notice that all of these people who spend all of their time and energy denouncing Seventh-day Adventist Christians spend very little time drawing people to Jesus? That was Ellen Whites whole purpose. Also, Revelation 12:17 tells what God's end-time people will believe. One would have to ask, "does my church teach this as written by God's own finger?"
@@mikejacobson14 It is not possible for us to know whether someone who denounces SDA doctrine spends time drawing others to Christ, so that is a moot point.
I know I draw others to Christ and I also denounce the heretical teachings of the SDA which draw people to Hell.
Drawing people to salvation in Christ was not EGW's purpose, it was building a church empire based on controlling the mind of the members through deception and fear.
Rev 12:17 is not referring to the 10 Commandments. If you study the Greek word used you will see it simply means they keep in mind the sayings of God generally.
Christians are far above being mere keepers of Commandments but have died and Christ lives in them doing works of Love.
If you are still under the Law you are doomed.
Please pray and seek real truth and salvation.
Peace.
Will someone please list those scriptures that he is talking about!?! For I am blind and I would like to add them on a list of verses in my Bible app!!
Repent confess and be baptized for the remission of your sins
AMEN Don! :)
What are the chances all of this is made up?
careful, they might read this and get offended. it’s 200% made up. all for those in power could stay in power and it’s sad that people today are still getting brainwashed like this. so many people waiting for “armageddon”. but what happens when that never happens? those people just die keeping on to their faiths and that’s fine everyone has their own thing. but these people are selfish and power hungry they don’t care about any morals and the whole bible is a big giant joke and lies to the human race which in itself is disrespectful to our own species. i hope you all live wonderful lives and learn to love and laugh without having to push your believes on others just because we question your stories.
0 chances.
Chapter 9 of the great Controversy is the tower of Babel... Any book that doesn't match that is rubbish...
Hello Alan, chapter 9 of The Great Controversy is about the Swiss reformer, Zwingli.
I think you are referring to patriarchs and Prophets' chapter 10 as it talks about the Tower of Babel.

For the wages of sin is death; (not hell;) but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
{Romans 6:23}
Turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha *into ashes* condemned them with an overthrow, making them *an ensample* unto those that after should live ungodly;
{2 Peter 2:6}
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are *set forth for an example* suffering the vengeance of *eternal fire*
{Jude 1:7}
(Sodom is not still burning, so it is not the fire / punishment that is eternal, but rather the consequences thereof.)
And ye [the saints] shall tread down the wicked; for *they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet* in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
{Malachi 4:3}
Thou [satan] hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and *I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth* in the sight of all them that behold thee.
{Ezekiel 28:18}
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such *the second death* hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
{Revelation 20:6}
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. *This is the second death*
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
{Revelation 20:14-15}
What do you imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
{Nahum 1:9}
Why would a creator battle with his creation, how would he just not squash him? If this is true you can worship Satan and have assurance of his power knowing he's so powerful even his creator can't squash him
How would killing him at first justfy God's character?
God knows best.
@Larry Bedouin lucifer is an agent of God, he is a cog in God's machine.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Satans name is Lucifer.
In Isaiah 14, when you read the whole chapter we see that it is speaking about the demise of the King of Babylon, And his destruction from such a haughty place is what Isaiah was speaking about.
Lucifer is not a proper name, in the Hebrew it translates lightbearer , or lightbringer.
It is therefore not a persons name, and it never was speaking about satan.
Isaiah 14:3-11 talks about the king of Babylon yes but verses 12 to 21 talks about Lucifer who has fallen from Heaven, which means light bearer.
@@TheIncredibleJourney are you suggesting that Isaiah starts his discourse talking about the King of Babylon , takes a break from verse 12-17 to speak about a person that is never mentioned before by name in all of scripture (and isn’t mentioned afterward by that name either) and then continues his discourse from 18-32 speaking once again about the fall of the King of Babylon??
Is this what you are suggesting?
If it is what you are suggesting (that also verses 18-21 are speaking of “lucifer”) please point me to where Lucifer died (since in verse 19 it says he was cast out of the grave) , or where “lucifer” is killed by the sword (also in verse 19) ,Or where “lucifer” is considered a man (like in verse 16)?
Just curious if you will be consistant with your exegesis.
This chapter speaks about the kings and their fall, which is also Isaiah relates the fall of Lucifer out of pride and ambition to be above God. That is the focus here. By understanding that is enough to know that Lucifer is real and has fallen from Heaven.
I think that is the message we want to convey. If you have any goals of explaining this, then what benefit would we, as Christians, get from it? Understanding that Lucifer is real, that satan is real, that the devil is real, and that Jesus saves us out from all of this is already enough to know about the simple love of God. The war of good and evil and that Jesus triumphs.
Sometimes we study too much that we make the unnecessary things more than that of the necessary and practical for our RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS and ultimately our salvation. :)

@@TheIncredibleJourney satan is real.
My point is to show that you are making a big error in exegesis.
And if a man of God is humble enough to admit errors, this is a man worth listening to and fellowshipping with.
Especially when someone shows them something that in its simplest and literal interpretation is true.
You said sometimes you study too much, seems
To me I didn’t use any extra studying to show that, I used the simplest means of interpretation.
Seems to me you are the one putting things in there that are not there, essentially either over spiritualizing it, or adding your own interpretation into it.
Satan is real indeed. That's the goal we want to show. :) God bless you my friend and continue to have faith in Jesus and a light to wherever you are.
bunch baloney.
