Great video, John. Would love to see Nightmare City in 4K. On the intro or possibly extras on the Blu-ray, it mentions that Umberto Lenzi says they are meant to be radioactive vampires and disliked them being referred to as zombies.

Love that Happy Birthday to Me vhs, I have that.........................somewhere, I picked up Night Of The Living Dead 4K on a nice german boxset, I did an unboxing video I'll post it at some point when I sort my channel out, I would love to see Second Sight do the same job on it as their Dawn release, and Day also, because we've all been good for Santa this year, useless trivia John, Shogun Assassin was directed by the guy who played Bobby in the Original Hills Have Eyes, Nightmare City is one of my guilty pleasures, I'm on the lookout for the pre cert tape, Zombie Lake? ok, good call.

Some great titles there but if I could just pick one for a 4k it would be Shogun Assassin which I would also recommend to anyone.

Still haven’t seen ‘Night Of The Living Dead’ can you believe it 😂🤦♂️🧟♂️ I think I heard Jason Brett talk about ‘Nightmare City’ recently; I heard really good things about it and Jason gave it high praise 🤩 I hope the film ‘Dead Weekend’ gets a 4K master mate; sounds like a great title! Fantastic stuff as always John; hope you have a grand weekend 😀🍿🎸🎶

Shivers, Rabid and The Brood are Cronenberg at his best for my money. Clinical classics for sure and I like to call them 'cold comfort'.🥶
Criterion's LWAC collection is a stunning set no doubt about it and you'd never know two films were actually combined to create SA. Such a seamless fusion.👍

I have the US Blu-ray of Superstition. Solid master and a great horror.
Death Weekend is one I have wanted to see for years. Only seen clips. Don Stroud is the Don 🤘

Christmas Evil on 4K would be great.
Classic Christmas horror film and also John Waters favourite Christmas film haha.
Foxy Brown is an amazing film so would great to own that on 4K.
Hopefully some others like Friday Foster too.

I have death weekend on a German blu ray import.
It is spliced from the vampix video release for one gore scene.
The original section 3 version of superstition (aka the witch) was cut and didn't contain the graphic gore which was in the later versions).
In other words the vtc video was hacked to bits.
Love city of the living dead, have the German mediabook blu ray of it, totally zany and ott.
The vtc section 3 version is heavily censord.
Keep up the great work.
Hi Moley 😁😁👍👍 I used to have that Vampix pre cert 👍 great info about that release bud 😁😁👍👍 its amazing that Superstition was on the Section 3 list when it was the heavily cut version!! 🤯 it amazes me how inconsistent those "censors" were!! Definitely a knee jerk reaction for some of these movies 😵💫 yeah love it too Moley and I'm so glad that nowadays these are usually the fullest cut and we are well out of those draconian days 😁😁👌👌 thanks again Moley 😁😁👍👍
Yeah Superstition was definitely a great film. I thought as a horror film that everything just "works". Just recently bought 2 copies of the original VTC Section 3 tapes in fact.- I knew I had to eventually have at least one someday. John, would love you to do some sought of video on Ciro Ippolito's Alien 2 aka Alien Terror (1980), that movie doesn't ever get enough attention and would like to know your opinion on that film👍👍
Foxy Brown would look very good in 4K, Would like Coffy as well, My favourite franchise is Friday the 13th, would love those movies to get the 4K treatment.
Zombie Lake is the worst movie i have ever seen, lol Am , its the one where one of the Zombies is protecting his daughter from other zombies, I always remember getting it from my local library back in the day, great times when you could get free movies from your library.
I think Foxy would look great in 4k!! The blacksploitation films I've seen always seem to look fantastic 🤩🤩👌👌 I can understand anyone thinking Zombie Zake is awful Mark 😁😁 for me I literally can't believe what I'm looking at for the most part!! 🤯🤯🤣🤣 yeah I remember getting movies, audio cassettes, cds and vinyl from the Library!! CRAZY to think of that now!! Bygone days (although the best) for sure Mark 😁😁👍👍

NIGHTMARE City what a cult classic.
Have always enjoyed nightmare city since when I first saw it in the early 80s.
Yes nightmare city was released in a cut version in the early 80s on the vtc label.
They released it twice, there first release was trimmed in a few places. Still what was left in was stronger than some that ended on section 1.
The second release was on a double bill with Alien terror and this release was more heavily cut.
VTC and some of the other companies like Thorn EMI panicked when the nasties thing came about, and they started cutting some of there titles themselves.
A sought of self censorship.

I would love CHRISTMAS EVIL on 4K. Problem is, Vinegar Syndrome doesn't seem to do 4K upgrades. Maybe one day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME .. may come to 4K from Kino or Indicator.
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD .. could come to 4K by someone else with HDR since it's a public domain title.
DEATH WEEKEND .. is great. Have the German blu. It's the only release I know of. I have feeling the elements aren't there for that one.
RABID 4K .. is most likely coming from Scream Factory.
F13TH PART 2 4K ... should come from Paramount eventually. Would of thought it'd be out already. A 4K scan is already done. Same with PART 3 and 4.
LONE WOLF & CUB ... is 50/50. 6 Films would have to be restored in 4K.
PIGS 4K .. would be great. Again, VS doesn't really do 4K upgrades.
