- I wasted away my childhood taking apart old laptop and i am thought might as well make a video about it. So it wasn't a complete waste of time. Laptop hardware does not age as well as Desktops.

Nice and simple video. Don't really need a laptop myself but here I am lol.
A few things to note, i3s and i5s are still great for basic tasks well after 5 years, and if your ok with a thick laptop and you want extra performance, some i5hq from the 6th gen are faster than i7u from the 7th gen in laptops, because the hq editions have extra cores and use more power. You will only get a few hours of battery life with a hq laptop though.

Great video! Although I would argue even older machines are still perfectly usable. Take for example the ThinkPad X220 or X230 from 2011 and 2012. Those things are still quite fast and even more than enough for most people, also they are built a lot better than all of the garbage made in the last 7 years.
As a person who loves thinkpads your right. By making the script more for beginner audience I might a generalized a bit too much. Thanks for the comment.

This is a really silly comment but it's worth mentioning that you should look out for specific hinge designs or other people reporting broken hinges. I immediately got an ick once I opened the video because my friend had the exact same laptop at 0:02 and the hinges broke within a year (I've also had personal experience with that design). And I know what you mean with temp fixes for hinges, it's the worst!!
I just used that laptop as a prop because the hinges are completely destroyed. I had quick fixed the hinges on it multiple times lol. Thanks for the comment.
