I like that DE is not nerfing things like they used to. The most I ever spent on a riven was 1200 Plat on a Lanka riven back in the day. :)
This isn't a 'nerfing" situation though. They still lowered the disposition for the epitaph prime and will lower it for the next prime and the one after that and so on. This is just saying fuck it to a standard because someone f'd up and they're afraid to backtrack.
@@michaelbruso if i understood correctly, The standard is different for Companion weapon primes, which dont get nerfed like other primes do

I decided to buy an unrolled one for 800p and roll it myself, infinitely more worth it than buying a good one for thousands on TC. Although I personally don’t think spending that much on a riv is ever worth it, Verglas is just too good with the bond synergy and damage.
Goddamn these prices are obscene. Good thing it whips ass without the riven, but damn lemme start trying to get it in this case.

I've got two great rivens for Verglas right now. +CC, +CD, useless negative. +Damage, +Heat, useless negative.
For lazy "I just want the Verglas to do the work" I use the heat build, for endurance I run the CC+CD for Tenacious Bond.
My current verglas riven is +fire rate +heat + lunch through.
With prime, definitely needing raw Crit chance for tenacious bond.
After opening 25 rivs trying to get a verglas riv my luck never fails and i dont get 1 lol

8k on pc.. I just sold my cc cd multi negative infested on console and a cc dam heat negative infested together I got just over 2k plat pluss 7 groll riven for other weapons so I'm mega chuffed I was poor in plat but 2k is a lot when your low on plat . But the other riven I got ik are worth easy 1k each if not more so was great deal in the end .
What does Multishot do for Beam Weapons?
Basically, to prevent the game from lagging, and ensuring there is an actually readable amount of ticks, they couldn't have multishot creating additional beams on beam weapons. So what they instead implemented was "fake" multishot. They made multishot a damage multiplier for the original beam. For example, a multishot of 2.0 means double damage. This makes the average DPS of the direct damage of the beam identical to if it were firing multiple beams. And, for DoT procs like Heat and Slash, this would've ensured that the average damage output from your DoTs was identical, since instead of two heat procs (due to multishot) that scale off of the weapon's base damage, you could have 1 heat proc scaling off of 2.0x ("fake" multishot damage multiplier) of the weapons base damage.
But wait, some status procs don't care about damage, like Viral and Corrosive both have the same effect whether it was a 1 damage or a 1 million damage tick applying them. Meaning, reducing the amount of ticks the beam weapons deal would've been a direct nerf to the application of those status types. In other words, the "fake" multishot damage multiplier, by itself, would only make up for the direct damage, and the DoT damage, of the weapon, but wouldn't be properly mimic the status application of non-damage-scaling status effects on that weapon since you'd apply less of the procs like Viral and Corrosive (and since their effectiveness is unaffected by the amount of the damage you're dealing on that tick, this would've been a direct nerf).
...so their solution, is that they made "fake" beam-multishot do two things, instead of just that one "damage multiplier" effect.
Multishot on beams is both: (1.) a multiplier of the damage tick applying the status, AS WELL AS (2.) a multiplier of the status chance of that tick. This way, they didn't unintentionally nerf the application of procs such as Viral and Corrosive.
However, what this actually results in, is your average damage output from DoT procs like Heat and Slash essentially "DOUBLE DIPPING" Multishot. Because, your damage output from DoTs is affected by both (1.) the multiplier of the damage tick applying the status (since DoTs scale off of the damage of the hit that dealt them), but, your damage output from DoTs also scales with (2.) the multiplier of the status chance of that tick, since applying two of a DoT deals double the damage of dealing one of that DoT. This makes Multishot is very very good on DoT-focused beam weapons, and an essential riven stat for weapons like the Verglas, Torid, Ocucor, Convectrix, Quanta etc.
My current Torid riven stat is (positive) cold, heat, and damage with (negative) max ammo.
My current Verglas riven stat is +heat, crit, and damage (no negative stat).
I guess DE want me to have some "blast"

Hey Gaz do you suggest using Verglas over Primed laser Rifle now? Or if and when would you use each, respectively? I'm still using the Laser Rifle in Dirgia because of how many damage types it has to work as a primer
Short range priming is still Prime Laser Rifle's gig to run. It really depends on what you want from your companion - no-one was running Diriga's Arc Coil for mad damage it has always been about priming utility (specifically for melee builds because of the range) and nothing is beating Prime Laser Rifle for that purely because of its IPS components combined with enough crit for Tenacious Bond. If you want pure priming then Diriga/Prime Laser rifle; if you want pure damage then Nautilus Prime/Verglas Prime; if you want a mix of the two with slightly less consistency in what happens where then a Hound with Synergized Prospectus. Hounds as they stand can't proc Tenacious Bond with any of their weapons but they do a good job of both priming and killing.

It's crazy they didn't nerf the thing, the excuse that this is how they treat all companion weapon rivens falls kind of flat when you consider that there isn't exactly a massive pool of them to serve as precedent when it works the other way for literally every other weapon that has a prime or other variant and automatically gets dropped to .5
Even crazier when you consider that companion weapons are the sole situation where not balancing the power level results in a flat 1.2x crit damage bonus thanks to the bond mod.
This totally seems like a situation where someone wasn't thinking, fucked up and now DE is scared to nerf it so soon when so many people have been paying thousands of plat for them. There'd be a riot and people would be right to do so.

That's the only logical conclusion to draw from Verglas Prime's riven disposition being intended. If there isn't a significant buff to other weapons, kubrows, kavats, vulpas and predasites in the second half of 2.0 then I will lose a lot of faith in DE's understanding of their game.
