Jackie and Shadow visit the nest again and again. They come to aerate the nest, bring some new sticks and fluff and stay for a long time to admire the stunning view. FIONA the Flying Squirrel cleans the nest during the night.
A Steller's Jay comes in the morning to check if there is still something tasty to eat.

How come they choose the worst weather to have kids? like not covered in ice. Now would be perfect one would think, mother nature, what are you doing.
@shanemac5199 Yes, from our perspective this time would be perfect but for Jackie and Shadow, the time for laying eggs is from January to March. ❤️🦅🦅❤️

So there’s no chance that they’re preparing the nest and they’re going to try to lay some more eggs now? Do they only lay eggs one time a year?
Wish someone would answer your question. I've asked before as well, will Jackie lay eggs anytime soon. I sure hope she will. I've been fascinated by these two...so happy to have tripped over their video in February 2024 and have been watching daily ever since from Vermilion, Ohio. Oh, the joys and sorrows of the glorious eagle 🦅
@gloriavasquez3164 & @user-xn5ib8ck5e According to experts, Jackie is fertile only from January to March so it is not likely for her to lay eggs now. She is expected to lay eggs in January. Their mating, bringing sticks and fluff to the nest is for bonding purposes now.
Do you think that they will have more little ones this summer?
@kathylongenberger7120 It would be great. However, according to experts, Jackie is fertile only from January to March so it is very unlikely for her to lay eggs at the moment. She usually lays eggs once a year in January. It sometimes happens that eagles have a second clutch if there is something wrong with the first one but it takes place earlier e.g. in February or March.
