The best part about doing projects with your dad is that you get to feel what it's like to be 5 years old again. It's not necessarily their fault either... they hover, you feel self-conscious and end up doing something a 5-year-old would do.

Nothing cooler than a woman throwing on her Carhartts and gettin' er dun. 💪 Hopefully the caulking gets rid of all the leaks. Nice battery! 10 times the life, and half the weight of the lead one. Pops was waiting for the right moment to commandeer that sander. 😂 I like the new bed setup. It really opens up the space and provides easier storage access. Well done young lady. 👏 ✌️
This is a fun video! I like to see a bit of a departure from the regular stuff sometimes. Van builds / mods are always entertaining. Also, since you're 5'-7" and you need just a little more room to sleep sideways, removing your socks and shaving your head will give you an extra three or four millimeters, Problem solved..you're welcome. 😎

I fully appreciate your dad’s dilemma having a grown daughter myself who likes to run her own show but is still learning the ends and outs of “handyperson” skills. Sometimes it’s beneficial from a skill acquisition perspective to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes but as a dad it’s hard to just standby and watch that learning process take place. I think there are probably a lot of us dads in that situation. Great video.
I do not have a van, but do have a camper and have often thought about cutting doors (like cabinet doors) under our bed-space for easy access as well. Those places are always such a pain to access. Loved this video, and am enjoying seeing you and your dad spending time together in the last two videos!❤

Tip for you. Put vasaline on the terminals of your battery, obvously disconect it first, it will reduce any corrosion.

I've got a 2014 Pro master that I built out last year. My bed is really high up so I have a ton of room underneath. I also put in a shower and compost toilet but it's a little longer than yours.

I actually don't think you'll have any issues sleeping width-wise. We converted our 6x10 cargo trailer and the walls eat up a tiny bit of the internal width, but I'm 5'7" as well and I'm quite comfortable sleeping that way.
The van build is awesome! But backup, the tower stereo with all the vinyls is banging 🤘

I know you are probably already done with this project by now but to access the storage under the bed you could cut hatches in the end by the back door so you could use them by opening the rear door.

Nice video. I'm glad that you are keeping the van. The corrosion on lead acid batteries can be cleanned and then the connections greased to prevent future corrosion. Glad that the sealing worked. The hardest thing for a parent to do is "let go". Good Luck, Rick

I haven't read the comments on here yet, but on your window, the bottom weep holes looked to be plugged. The top holes should be plugged and the bottom should be open. Hope this helps if you see it!
I miss my brother’s dodge promaster van that I built out for him. I put a lot of work into it and was a fun learning experience. Now I have a great idea for the next one for myself whenever I can do it. Right now I just use my camping fishing combo trailer I made that has a rooftop tent and awning. And God bless southern women!

It’s great to see that your camper van is getting a remodel. Apparently my gas hand in my Ram 1500 has quit working because of a failing fuel sensor in my fuel pump which I’m replacing the entire fuel pump and getting a new one. Can’t wait to see the Disco 2 camper build later on.

You probably should have used the same stuff that they use to install windshield in your van it is made to solid up your windows and so use that next time because silicone is good for a little bit of time but it will definitely check out the windshield installed video it’s a form of gasket sealer and should outlived your windows I hopefully that you don’t have anymore leaks

Hi! I have a 2005.. All rubber hoses that are soft, needs to be replaced. Online Euro parts San Diego
Shops are hard to find on the road PERIOD! Starter can be bought new..idler tensioner pulley. belt store it just in case FLUID changes #1. Stay safe
Yup, Already bought all new hoses and we will be putting those in when I get back next time!

Lesson #1) Never buy anything from Dodge or Ram..... TRASH!
This isn’t really a dodge- it’s Mercedes engine and parts. It’s just a rebadged version of a Mercedes sprinter. Something about a chicken tax back in the early 2000s Mercedes was trying to get out of. It’s def not trash either, 200k miles and I’ve driven it across the country at least 5x now with no issues. Hoses needed to be replaced anyway, it was time.
