- OVER FOUR DECADES OF OLD PHOTOS 1945 - 1991 - THE OLD SUBIC BAY NAVAL BASE PHILIPPINES - PART # 6
I have a subscriber who was stationed at the old Subic Bay Navel Base. I was given a flash drive with over 1,500 photos dating back as far as 1945 - 1991. I wanted to share these photos with the world. To me this is history of not only the Philippines but also U.S.A. military involvement here in The Philippines.

Thank you for sharing your video. This video just broke me, sitting here crying. Life is full of changes. I was there back in 1975, I was 18 yrs old. I met my marine husband in 1978. Now I'm in the USA with 4 beautiful children!!
Thank you for watching.
So many memories, so many friends and awesome times! 1974, 1975, 1984 and 1986. My second home.
Hey Brian my dear friend, again, this collection is just so amazing. I love hearing the electric guitar playing the national anthem. It almost sounds like that was Jimmy Hendrix playing that awesome tune. I could definitely be wrong. I really love everything about this video series of photos. Hopefully, there is more to come. Thank you Brian my dear friend for sharing this awesome video, please stay safe and healthy, and God bless you, lot, Borges, Miguel, Hannah grace, Bing Bing, and the rest of your beautiful family. And may God bless our military veterans, and may God bless your awesome pets.😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
enlisted here as non-citizen pinoy US navy recruit 1987.
I was there from 1978 to 1980 in vrc 50 at cubi point, great times , loved the people and culture. 😀😃😄😄😃😃😃😃
Brian, two of the best years of my Navy career were at Subic Bay, 1977-1979. Great video buddy! Cheers from Pittsburgh, Pa
Very nice video. Was there in '73' mostly at Cubi. Pt. Was onboard the USS Tripoli and later cross det'ed to the Okinawa. Loved the PO, great times. Went again during '76-77' Westpac. Again spent most the time at Cubi. Didn't see any pics from Gain's beach, another fun place.
I was there in 1974, probably the wildest place on the planet. All the crazy stories told about those days were true.
Amazing pictures of a time that we can never get back... its sad to know that 10's of thousands of children were left behind to live a very hard life without their American fathers.... I couldn't imagine the pain those kids had to deal with.
Thank you for this Philly! I've been watching your channel for awhile now, but recently found this video. I was a kid at Subic Bay from '69 - '71 and some of my fondest memories were of that time!
As a younger expat in the Philippines, this is awesome to see of those that came before.. Thank you Brian!

The main road outside the gate after you cross shit river, Magsaysay Rd., was dirt until 1976, then they paved it. I didn't know they were trying to adopt modern rules so one evening in February '77, about 6pm, they decided if you didn't cross the street at the freshly painted crosswalks, the PC's busted you for "jaywalking". They had busloads of us, sailors, marines, bargirls, and regular people, and took us all down to the Olongapo city jail. No room in cells so everyone had to sit on the floor, both sides of every aisle in the place. Kept us until about 11:45 so we could try to beat curfew home or wherever we wanted to go. My buddy and I had just flown into Clark AB that afternoon and I had never seen Magsaysay paved.
7th Fleet Club 2nd floor 1966-1968 Miss that Bar Good Times
Actual my ship the USS Belleau Wood lha-3 was the last ship out of the Philippines on November 24th 1992. They had the turnover ceremony and shortly we pulled out of Subic Bay. Some of the bar girls even showed their breast as we pulled out of the harbor from small boats. The pull out story was on ABC national news that day. We were in port for 24 days. What a good time. Some Filipino girls crying on the pier sad their boyfriend is leaving. My girlfriend was one of them.
I revisited the area in 2015. I stayed near Cubi point at All Hands Resort. Had a great time with family.
Had many visits there from 90-91 during a WesPac and the Gulf War. MSSG-13
Yup that's true
Where you get this video amazing 😢

Great memories although I was in the Air force at Clark.. we 6 the hard way loved going to Subic.. When the Ships weren't IN! Coz if they're In... Poor Air force guys had no Chance against 90-days at Sea Money 😭! Lol! But wouldn't trade those times for Nothing!! Love all my brothers at Arms!! No matter what Branch!
Boat Pool DIV. Crazy times!
Did anyone go to the Overseas Christian Servicemen's Center in Subic?
Subic Bay is still a U.S. Navy Base . It's not "the old, former navy base" We are currently occupying Subic Bay. We are positioned there to fight China or whoever makes trouble. We came back a few years ago.
If you can, upload or link these to Facebook & see how many of the people in the photos get tagged by their facial algorithms. If it works out that should surely double your amount of subscribers. Just sayin
