@@GearHeadzGarageUSA it's a jegs xhd 2900-3200 "nitrous" converter. It'll probably be pretty tight on motor. It's a 396ci SBC that's around 525hp/525tq. Rear gear is a 3.91 with a 28" tall tire
One less problem now. The final answer was fake parts and the axels were butting up against each other causing a misalignment problem. That seems reasonable to me. Your housing had minimum stack tolerances. So when the housing was made by Speedways vendor they had a max minimum condition and the axels were at a maximum so they wouldn't fit correctly even though all the detail parts were probably in spec. ho would have thought that would happen. The fake bearing just added to the agony and the caliper misalignment was just an added bonus. But it looks like all is well now. And you somehow managed to Long Haul this car in spite of all that. You need to thank your Guardian Angel. :) Larry
Thanks Larry, so far about 300 miles in and its running great. I just wish it ran this smooth during power tour its like a compeltly different machine!
That's next up on the card board to do list. I put another 100 miles on it today just to make sure that rear end is 100000%. Feels night and day difference
I watched all the build videos, I thought I remembered you bought a complete new “crate” rear end. If that was the case, isn’t the supplier taking responsibility?
So I think I responded to another question that was just like this but essentially Currie....is being a bunch of B@#$&$#. They don't want to take responsibility they are pointing to speedway. Speedway is pointing to Currie. I ran into Currie on the Power Tour they are not the nicest group of people.
When I assembled my speedway t bucket I found that one of the axles was too long. It wouldn’t go in all the way. Talked to speedway and my diff guy and removed about an 1/8 inch off the end. Problem solved.
So thats what I did in the begining, but even though I ordered a CURRIE set I got one currie housing, axle sets and only one pressed bearing that appears to not be done correctly. I spoke with currie advised them of the issue but they have been of no help. Even spoke to them at power tour and they have blown me off. The rep asked me one question; Was your axles shipped in 1 box or 2? I had advised that it was "2". The currie rep then states wel we ships items together so you must have gotten a counterfit set......laughable but honestly the rudest group of guys I have ever met. Speedway is working to address this directly with replacments instead.
The Spacer thickness difference between the Driver and the Drinkers side does not make sense. Fingers crossed there wont be a need for a follow-up video.
Glad its back going. Can't wait to see future mods!
It feels amazing, I wish it rode this smooth during power tour honestly.
@@GearHeadzGarageUSA me too sir. I'd love to take mine next year. I put the new glide and stall converter behind the SBC Friday. It's getting closer.
@@bagwellpower2951 what stall did you end up going with? RPM?

@@bagwellpower2951 so I went with the jegs 2900 basic basic and it's works phenomenal but I'm not pushing crazy numbers but torque is insane
Great vid!!!!
Driving a T-bucket def like driving a gocart with a v8. On the verge of being out of control and uncomfortable but a indescribable cool factor
So true!
exactly! You win comment of the year for that Hahahaha
@GearHeadzGarageUSA I have a california customs T-bucket I wonder how they compare to the Speedway kits
@@jasonhare4840 I do know their parts are too notch not sure about handling. Would be cool to do a trade and drive for a few miles
@GearHeadzGarageUSA I'm in okc I don't think that's gonna happen but I can email you some pictures see if you spot the differences
Catching up, good watch. Closer to getting my T back, just as we do a whole house remodel and add a second floor.
So…2025?
That's a lot of projects! 2025....so ready for power tour 2025 in a T Bucket?
