Set during the Ming Dynasty, the story revolves around the romance between General Xu Lingyi and the concubine's daughter Shiyiniang that starts from an arranged marriage. Despite being born with a low status, Luo Shiyiniang is extremely assertive and believes that a woman's vision should not be limited to the household. She hopes to rely on her embroidery skills as a ticket to freedom. However, the once esteemed Luo family is in a state of decline. The husband and wife are in love, believe in each other, adhere to their love, face the storms of life together, and write a legendary life belonging to them.

Songyun looks beautiful and majestic! A wonderful honorable young woman and role model!! Her husband loved and protected her! Wonderful story and series!! The Sword and the Brocade!!
Seven Tan is one of my favourite actresses. She is just beautiful, whether she be in modern or historical dramas.
What a sad, yet wonderful ending. All actors did a wonderful job in bringing their character to life. The Main couple were a wonderful match while working together to solve their problems and in showing the affection they had toward one another. Wallace Chung is a handsome man and if every man were like the character he portrayed toward his wife, there would be a lot less divorce. The story was captivating; the music was wonderful; the costumes and scenery were beautiful. The emotions that each actor brought to life had me talking back to them, especially the troublemakers. One point that I will always remember is when the ML came galloping his horse around the town corner to quickly protect his wife when she and her servants were feeding the refugees. And of course the Main couple had the best kissing scenes. Thank you for putting it on RUclips.

Shiyi is actually the Grand Matron. She cleaned up the Grsnd Matron’s mess of allowing all these evil concubines into the home trying to scheme and gain the lordship’s favor. I think the grand matron was jealous of Shiyi and went out of her way to find reasons to dislike Shiyi no matter how much she accomplished. Shiyi will never be good enough to the grand matron despite her appearing to get along with Shiyi at the end.
Good series though.
This was a wonderful drama. I suggest watching it . I love the characters Wallace Chung plays. Makes me think he’s a good person.
