I've owned TWO of this model. Precision Elite II basses. If I wanted another bass, I'd go find another one of these. To me they're everything a bass should be. Sadly, the two I used to have are gone because I ran out of money and had to sell anything not essential to me. A long time ago.
I've played fenders for 20 years and never heard of this model,I know what I'm getting for my income tax present to myself, lol both pickups it actually has a warm jazzy sound,I really like that
Having a split P that close to the bridge is an odd decision. It puts the D&G pickup proportionally much closer to the bridge than the E&A. You can hear it in the video, the D&G strings are noticeably thinner on the bridge pickup.
I think the sound of the bridge pickup alone is a bit weird, a bit far off, a bit ear piercing. But with both pickups combined, it sounds really bright but not weird. Has all the punch. I'd like to have one. I think it will cut through the mix very easily, with a very distinctive sound. Great video!
I had the same exact Elite II color they looked to be in the same shape also this bass was killer as you can here all the different sounds you get out of it.Then i went out and bought 2000 fender deluxe bass i love the deluxe you can get more versatility out of the Elite II but< i have only owned 2 basses that I can say were built perfectly and the 2000 deluxe and 2010 music man Stingray stealth I have done nothing to either one except change the battery and strings the action on the Deluxe is incredible and there is no buzz. The deluxe has the music man sound with the split coils and it is a much lighter bass then the Elite and if you like the music man sound with the p bass sound you will love it. I 'am looking to buy another Elite II but I'am looking for an 84 with the really nice blue burst or gold burst colors
The P Bass pickup isn’t very good for the bridge position primarily because of how close to the bridge it gets on the treble side. It might sound better if it was reversed
I have an '83 in walnut & gold. Elite II. It has no wear. Nearly perfect. I believe it's an ebony fretboard. Love the knobs on it. Anyone interested? Have no problem keeping it.
Fender has a habit of discontinuing everything that doesn't sell like crazy within 1 year. The now reissued Starcaster Bass Guitar is one example and they had a three pick up bass guitar that was quickly discontinuing. It has now apparently been brought back. These are very different sounding bass guitars. The Starcaster has two big fat humbuckers and a semihollow body. The three pick up bass is solid body but the pick ups are all thin strips.Despite there thiness, the number of combinations you can make with three pick ups makes for lots of interesting sounds. The Starcaster is more Gibson sounding then Fender but has a Fender neck. They seem to reissue stuff that they realize might have commercial potential nowadays,I guess.
Yo! Thanks Bro! I create all of my bass lines for those bass demos; some of them comes from my album which is available on www.pendofsky.bandcamp.com. Hope U enjoy it:-)
velocetplus I'm not own most of those basses - just testing them. I'm working for polish Bass Player Magazine as a gear- tester ( still publish my workshops there); however most of bases I test belongs to my friend (www.usedbass.eu) , who is...building motorways in West Poland and just loves basses :-)

Thank you for using a pick
You're welcome :)
With both pickups and the tone up full it sounds like a real funk machine. I like it. It's almost clavinet like.
It's like a ballsier Jazz Bass
You sir are a very great funky player
Thank You my friend:)
The bright tone setting is lit
Wow, you did a great job showing the different sounds this bass can make. Well done.
Thank You, Cheers!

I’ll sell ya mine for $3500
Very nice hammer on pull offs
That bridge sounds nice. I'd invert it to give more treble to the top strings and more bass to the bottom strings.
I have that bass in emerald green with gold hardware. I love it.
Nice, thorough and well played demo.
Thank You:)
Good bass player too
perfect groove ! hats off
Thank You!
Brilliant!
My new favorite bass

I have the rarest of them all the all walnut gold hardware ebony fretboard model. $3500
The rear pickup sounds like a Clavinet.
Finn The Creator Yep
Great touch and groove!
Thanks Bro!

Agreed. Both pick ups moved 2 1/2 “ towards the neck to thicken up that sound.
Would swapping the rear pup to reverse fix this? Thinking about doing that to a bass one day
Awesome groove!
Thank You Ivan!

Sounds killer. Great tone on that PJ
Thanks!
it's not a pj, it only has p bass pick ups
It's a PP

nice video!!

Why they discontinued this bass escapes me!!!

@@josephdrach2276 Are you referencing the Rascal Bass or the Squier Bass VI?
@@PrototypeDriverCrash I'm sure he meant the Rascal, with those lipstick p/u's
Because there was a problem with the tremelo on the telecaster guitar model which gave a bad name to the whole series so they didn’t sell.
Brzmienie i granie Pendoxa kosmos !!!
Dziękuję:):)
Warm pickup..👍
Is it active? There's a pretty agressive mid cut
As I remember, it was passive, but this low pass filter was aggressive, indeed.
It does require a 9v battery.
Where? It's not on the website.
jongroovin That bass is HERE: www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Fender-Precision-Elite-II-USA-used-bass-guitar-/121600003708
Are you relisting? Why no shipping to US?
jongroovin It's too expencive ...
Tabs?
No, I was just improvizing
I have exactly the same model in great condition. It's for sale
Great basslines! Where are they from, or do you come up with them just for the demo?
Yo! Thanks Bro! I create all of my bass lines for those bass demos; some of them comes from my album which is available on www.pendofsky.bandcamp.com. Hope U enjoy it:-)
Marcin Pendowski Wow, very good stuff! And one more thing: where do you get all these amazing and valuable basses from?
velocetplus I'm not own most of those basses - just testing them. I'm working for polish Bass Player Magazine as a gear- tester ( still publish my workshops there); however most of bases I test belongs to my friend (www.usedbass.eu) , who is...building motorways in West Poland and just loves basses :-)
Taken to Boner World for the 2nd and 4th demo's. NICE
NiklausMetal Thanks!
Is this bass for sale?

btw what type of bass is that it's sooooooo pretty no kidding!!!!!!
The scrolling captions is annoying, it just makes us wait to see what we're hearing with no benefit.

As I expected this is a great bass but everything beyond the normal position p-pickup is pretty much useless.
you're ok at playing the bass but I think my dad can play better ha ha no offense ;)
