Really well done - a big problem with the X-T5 is the loss of the function that allows a shutter half press to clear the screen of peak highlights. This existed in all previous X-Series cameras, but it is gone in the X-T5. Fuji at this point has not acknowledged it - what have you heard, if anything? Do you know of anyway to turn this back on? Thank you-
@@Taramundifilms Really the first time I've seen Fuji turn their back on users in favor or of a minor faction - in this case, macro shooters whom I suspect have access to decision makers. Very a political decision, not one that makes the camera better.
Great video. Trying out manual focus for first time on still life and landscape photography, both less familiar areas of focus for me (pun intended). Wouldn't have even thought to check out the MF assist options on Fuji if not seen this forst. Thank you!
Excellent video, excellent work. Thanks for this very helpful video. I have an XT-20 and now that everyone is going to rush on the X-H2 I really want to buy the first one.
It works in Still photography mode but not Movie mode. It could work if you're tracking moving subjects for photos, depends on your manual tracking skills :)
Great video man, thanks! I VLOG and often my manual focus is a tad out. What settings would assist and show best on the flip out LCD screen, which is what I can see but not super well when I'm recording at about 5 feet. Thank you.
It’s already built-in in cameras where you can push in (and hold) the rear command dial (X-T, X-Pro, X-E3, X100). On other cameras like the X-S10 and X-E4, no, the closest you can get is putting it in My Menu.
My Eyesight is quite bad & these features are a Godsend. 📷 🙏
Thank you so much!
Many thanks John, I feel more confident using manual mode following watching your video.
You’re welcome!
Thank you! Very useful information!
As usual excellent no fuss tutorial. DG
I love split image and digital prism.
Thank you so much, i found a setting that i couldn't find Anywhere elese. ❤
Very nice explanation 👍🏻💪🏼
This video was super helpful, thanks for taking the time to
share! I've immediately subscribed 👍😊 Paul
Glad it helped Paul, happy to have you here!

Haven’t heard anything…I think if they wanted to “return” this they would have done so in a firmware update by now.
I also dislike this on the XH2s…

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah it's been years since that camera has been updated, it'll be interesting to see what it can do!
Super helpful
most all of these tips apply to the GFX100 ii camera. Thx
You’re welcome!
is it possible to get manual focus zoom without electronic connection to the lens?
Yes it's just enlarging the image coming into the sensor, it doesn't matter where that's coming from.
Very clear and helpful. Thank you!
Hello. Is the digital split image works on the moving subjects as well?
It works in Still photography mode but not Movie mode. It could work if you're tracking moving subjects for photos, depends on your manual tracking skills :)
HEYY, Is there a simulation-like site where I can navigate the Fujifilm menu myself? Thanks.
Not that I know of, not without the camera
Can you use all manual focus assist using all manual lens using dump adapter?
Yes, all of the processing happens after the light hits the sensor, so the choice of lens technology is irrelevant.

Focus Peaking for sure, try green or red high for the color
@@PeltierPhoto Thankk you John.
@@mattcero1 oops I mean blue (cyan) instead of green. No green in Fujifilm!
On my fuji xt3 the manual focus distance bar does not appear and I cannot find it on the settings. How can I do?
Check that the MF Distance Scale (or something like that, I can’t remember the exact words) is enabled in the Disp Custom Setting menu.
Is there a way to set focus peaking as a shortcut button?
It’s already built-in in cameras where you can push in (and hold) the rear command dial (X-T, X-Pro, X-E3, X100). On other cameras like the X-S10 and X-E4, no, the closest you can get is putting it in My Menu.
@@PeltierPhoto Wow that's a game changer, thanks!
Focus Check has NEVER worked for me. I just doesn’t zoom in. But then again, maybe it doesn’t work with 3rd party manual focus lenses.
Does XT30 mark ii have “dual display”?
No, in the X-T line, the “mini” X-T bodies (20, 30) do not, just the main X-T bodies (2, 3, 4).
The XT-1 has the option too. Affirmatively. Been using it for years.
It always feels that you have to go that extra mile to get focus with Fuji.
