@@dalehall2993 only impact wrenches are measured in ft lbs. This is not an impact wrench. To find out an impact drivers Max torque in ft lbs, divide in lbs by 12, that's it, simple!
I have the Milwaukee kit set one key!! Before two days I bought the Milwaukee surge impact !! Milwaukee is a very respected company!! The surge is very smooth and not loud impact!! I watch your video and believe it or not I change me mind. I think I'm going with ridgid stealth force impact !! Keep up the good work, your videos are helpful!!

Definitely, the most honest, accurate comparative review on RUclips. Based on this review, I will choose Rigid Stealth ... simply cannot sacrifice speed and efficiency. Rigid is not the smallest or lightest, but overall, Rigid provides the only Lifetime Warranty, and in this test, Rigid is the fastest and virtually as quiet as M18 Surge. Therefore, Rigid gets my vote.
👍🏼 although I will say the Ridgid requires a bit of finesse to drive fasteners. The Ridgid has less impact pulses and pushes further with each pulse so your hand has to push at the same speed otherwise the but slips. A regular impact drives fasteners easier and the surge behaves just like a regular impact.
Ridgid no longer has the stealthforce in their lineup. You can still buy them if you google it but not from home depot. I have no idea why they canceled it but I love mine! It really drives screws amazing but I also have the surge for a little more fine work. I have tried to remove old screws with the stealthforce and it is easy to snap them off and it's also easier to over drive your screws into wood. But once you realize the power it's awesome!

However Milwaukee was gracious enough to send me out some really cool free tools and 5 free 5.0amp batteries, which we all know is one of the biggest costs when breaking into a new tool line, so I decided to go ahead and pick myself up a Milwaukee Surge and traded one of my 5.0amp batteries to my friend for one of his compact 2.0amp batteries to keep my Surge nice and light so now between it and my Stealth Force I have the best of both worlds the Surge with it's light weight and finesse and the Stealth Force with it's brute force and speed!

Does the battery have a bit of wiggle with this unit? I noticed that on the Surge, the battery socket rattles a bit. I looked at Home Depot's test model and saw the same.
It would be neat if they came out with an impact wrench with the pulse and it would be neat if companies that made pneumatic impact wrenches had an oil or pulse impact wrench.
Hydraulic usually means a fluid is used to drive something, much like the brakes on a car or the jack you change the oil with. I had no idea Milwaulkee even had a hydraulic driver. I had enough problem getting a 1/4 in standard impact that had a battery that was not too far below its storage threshold. Milwaulkee needs to put more juice in their batterys for storage before shipping. The longer the battery sits, the lower the juice. Eventually the power level goes below the set value of the charger. Then you get the red green show and no charge.
You're wrong, it's not two pieces joined. It's a single piece of 4x6 lumber. What you see on the side is two passes with a hand held circular saw. If you ever try to do this with a circular saw by hand you'll notice the two cuts will never join up perfectly. You also should know a circular saw with a 7-1/4" blade can't cut a 4x6 or any 4x lumber in a single pass.
I use my impact for Millwright and other Mechanical jobs. How does the Surge compare the to the regular fuel when breaking loose large bolts typically torqued to 55 to 75 ft lbs?
Well I have been running Ridgid tools for awhile and have around 17 of their tools and have stepped up to a lot of their Gen5x tools including the Stealth Force which I absolutely love. Well thanks to Milwaukee graciously sending me out some really cool free tools within the last 6 months as well as 5 free 5.0amp batteries, which we all know is one of the biggest costs and most important things to have when breaking into a new tool line. So I decided I had to pull the trigger and pick up one of these Milwaukee Surge impacts, I knew when I bought it that it did not have the same power and speed as my Ridgid Stealth Force but the reason I still got it is because it is much lighter and works just as good installing small fasteners like say when screwing up drywall and I would much rather have a lighter tool when doing that all day and second because it has more finesse for driving smaller fasteners where you need a lighter touch. And after using these new hydraulic drivers I will never go back to a regular impact driver and now with the Milwaukee Surge and the Ridgid Stealth Force I have the best of both worlds a small light driver for smaller fasteners and more finesse and a large driver with tons of torque and power when I need it so now I have the best of both worlds!!!
hey...how are ya?... I just bought this today....ya really can't appreciate the sound volume difference until you try it in person. It's awesome! big difference from the full size models. I can see using this after a rough night of drinking!...lol I see this being the to go to impact gun for running screws all day long....and hangovers

I would say that out of the 3 shown in this video the Ridgid Stealth Force has the least vibration, the M18 Surge is a distant second least, vibration, and the M18 Fuel regular impact driver has more vibration than the other two but nothing out of the ordinary for an impact. Although the M18 Surge gets a crazy amount of vibration when I pushed it to the max when it drilled using the 1-1/4" bit. I actually get your comment a lot about the Ridgid based on what is seen but it's one of those thing you have to feel for yourself so I might have to address that it has less felt vibration in a future video when I get a chance. The only issue the Ridgid has is that each impact or pulse pushes the screw much further than any other impact so it's something you have to get used to when driving screws and have to make sure keep up with it when you push into the screw.
Nicely done Javier. The two Milwaukee tools seem to be very well matched, aside from the noise of course. The Rigid is clearly a different animal as it was clearly very jerky. almost as if the sustained torque was a bit too long. Obviously the Rigid drives faster, but so would a drill driver with constant torque, and so I wonder if you would run into trouble caming out with a Phillips head being driven into some hard stuff? You won't twist your arm off, but I'm not sure I want that much vibration all day long.

Thanks Joey! Without having tried out the Makita oil pulse driver, it's hard for me to say. But the good news is that the Surge keeps up with the 1,800 in-lbs 2nd gen Milwaukee fuel impact.
The length of the head of the impact guns makes a huge difference, the shorter the better. The larger than are the more they get in the way such as working in tight spaces around plumbing and other machanical work. Ridgid is longer Wich is why I will stay with Milwakiee. Rigid is Milwakiees parent company.

Nice, glad you like the stealth force. The surge is also brushless. I didn't say in words that but it's in the text shown a couple of times in the video. Milwaukee slaps the Fuel label on their cordless tools when they feature brushless motors and the latest features and performance. So if it says Fuel, it's a brushless tool. Thanks bro.
Yeah! I tried to remove the anode manually, using a pipe on a 1/2" wrench. I figure I could pull with about 50 lbs at 2 feet. The anode didn't budge, but the water heater nudged. 100 foot pounds at 1/8" radius = 9600 pounds., probably more than the 1/4" hex stud could tolerate. I bought a Milwaukee 2763-20 1/2" hammer. On power setting One it made interesting noises and moved nothing. On Two, it spun the anode fitting off after about one second. Yay!
What is average pay per hour on carpenters in US? Because i have seen people saying Milwaukee tools are expensive still every tool is around 100 bucks cheaper than i have to pay for them in my country.

12v tools are smaller more compact and lighter. A smaller tool can get into tighter areas than a larger tool and the lower weight is easier to hold longer. You can fit more of them in your tool bag and they are also cheaper. These are they're advantages of 12V tools but at the expense of less power and runtime but for many tasks 12V has enough performance and runtime and can be a great alternative to 18V
Jose Rojas in a 20yr Metal Carpenter and I run my gun the better part of an 8 hour day. I prefer the smaller 12v tools because of the weight in my tool belt. My toll belt weighs close to 50 pounds already but it's just a more comfortable tools to use in my opinion and I run self tapping screws all day long. I love the Milwaukee fuel 12v

As I mentioned in the previous comment, many impact drivers are capable of doing this. I haven't tried this specific model for that task as impact drivers aren't the right tool for lug nuts so I can't say from experience as I use an impact wrench for my cars lug nuts. From what I understand, hydraulic impulse drivers (quiet impact drivers) have less torque than regular impact drivers but they offer longer sustained torque so who knows if this specific model can or can't but yes, there are better tools or in other words, the right tool for the job.
Tool Craze good review. I have first gen Fuel. I'm on fence between Surge or Stealth Force. Definitely want a tool quieter like surge or force. I have tools on both platforms. which one would u get if you had to pick 1?
I've replayed it so many times but this video seems a little rigged to me. during the first test it seems along with the Stealth Force , you were driving much of your own force with it, to a point your head appears in the frame. And the 2nd test showed Rigid had insane amounts of vibrations noticed at the battery end. Idk though, I could be wrong :D
Ah another rigged or biased comment, there's no shortage of people like you on RUclips every time there's a comparison video. And I'm not talking about my videos, I'm talking about other channels and categories. But anyways if you feel it was rigged, that's fine but I challenge you to test it out for yourself. Go out there and compare them side by side and see for yourself and then come back here and tell me this test was still rigged. I have full confidence that after you test them all side by side you'll eat your words. And no, pushing harder on an impact driver won't make it drive faster. All you would be doing is adding more stress to the tool and actually make it harder to push the fastener which thus would make the tool slower. As for the vibration on the Ridgid, I've already explained this several times in the comments for this video so no point in repeating myself. Look over the comments for the answer.
If you haven't tried the Stealthforce you don't understand how it feels to use. It's impossible to hold it perfectly still compared to the other two. The way it hits is much different than a regular impact or even another fluid driver. But I love mine! I wonder the reason Ridgid doesn't carry them any more is because they may have been worried people wouldn't use it properly and over time hurt their wrists. You have to have a secure grip with it becasue it's trying to twist more with each hit than the other two.
Great review and videos to back it up. Otherwise I don think i could take Javier reviews seriously. Just looking at his workshop. First he has a Crafstman router table (hopefully a 690 motor), a Ridgid spindle sander, and finally a Ryobi drill press. Seems like he's digging in the bottom of the barrel for his tool shop. No Makita, MIlwaukee, Dewalt or Bosch. Maybe prop up an old Delta/Powermatic in the background, machine doesn't even have to work. Just to give a lil street cred. I'd compare it to a construction worker driving to the job site in a Toyota Corolla, trunk full of tools and a ladder strapped to the roof. Im sure he can get the job done just as good and the guy in the truck. Hopefully in the next episodes he get an upgrade from a special tool sponsor. "Festool, Im looking in your direction".
Thanks though not sure why you'd base my entire tool collection on three table top tools. And even if these were my only brands, you can work wonders with crappy tools. Just look at Steve Ramsey's woodworking videos. Most of his tools in his videos are what you'd call "bottom of the barrel". I also want to mention, that Ridgid oscillating sander is definitely not bottom of the barrel. More features and a larger table top than most stuff you'd find from Grizzly and Jet. As far as the router table, a router table is just a router table. I could put a "better brand" router on it but I'm sure some would still complain. I will say nobody's complained about my setup except you and those that follow me for years and seen my how to videos have seen a glimpse of my other tools part of my collection. But even if all I had was cheap tools, no biggie, my work speaks for itself. And I have a Dewalt DW625 3 HP router that you don't see that I've been itching to build a table for however just haven't had the time. As for the Ryobi drill press, sure it's by no means a tool that screams refinement but for my casual woodworking uses, it serves it's purpose. If I ever need a larger better unit I'll go out and get one but I don't need to just yet nor just to impress some guy. Also, there's tons of people who love their Ridgid's and Craftman's and Ryobi's and swear by them. They all build quality tools within their pricepoint. All in all I do appreciate the positive words at the outset.
I just recently bought this impacter. The collet will not hang onto bits for loving nor money. The bits i am using are new milwaukee shockwave impactor bits... I'm not going to waste the time sending it back to milwaukee. I'm tempted to return it and the brand new milwaukee 1/2 hammer drill to home depot and get the Makita set. I could take them to a repair shop and get a new chuck and 2 ball collett....buy why? Milwaukee dropped the ball. They allmost won the race but just like the rabbit they got cocky and laid down and took a nap feet from the finish line...and the makita turtle won the race as a result. Not happy with this...
For real its a huge difference. Its quieter then most drills even. Most of the noise is gonna come from the materials your driving into. As driving into floppy sheet metal loosly laying on something metal will either way will be stupid loud but drivng screws into softer wood: (pun not intended) its silent.
stealth force and quiet strike sound lame to me, surge isn't as lame. But at the end of the day you're just arguing about names, the real question is what do you think of the tool and how it performs? Silly names don't change that
@@ToolCraze im an industrial technician. Most work is indoors. Some places are really loud and some not so. Loud is a pneumatic impact. These electric tools are just not that bad. Our definition of loud tools is definitely debatable
You yourself said: "Most work is indoors. Some places are really loud" so you are agreeing they can be too loud indoors yet you still try to argue and say otherwise. Doesn't make any sense. If you feel that quieter hydraulic impacts are not necessary, that's totally fine. Don't buy them and stick to the regular impacts. Simple as that.
Tool Craze the point is, if they end up charging you more than 50 dollars for the hydraulic mechansim it isnt worth it. chances are when your running am impact driver you also have other loud tools too.
I do a lot of work where I'm working around other people. Even if it was a $50 upcharge, it's still cheaper than buying everyone else in the space earmuffs. ;)

I just bought the Surge. It replaces an older M18 impact. SO MUCH BETTER. Quiet and drives 1/4 screws like butter. I wish I had picked this up sooner.

Basically any manufacturer that sells any battery and not just for tools, puts about half a charge in their batteries.

That's what I do, putting a large 5.0amp battery on it defeats the purpose of having a small light compact driver!

Thanks bro. Actually the Ridgid has the least amount of vibration. I know it appears to be "jerky" but that's because of the much lower impacts per minute. But each pulse is much softer than the other two. I would say that out of the 3 shown in this video the Ridgid Stealth Force has the least vibration, the M18 Surge is a distant second least, vibration, and the M18 Fuel regular impact driver has more vibration than the other two but nothing out of the ordinary for an impact.
Although the M18 Surge gets a crazy amount of vibration when I pushed it to the max when it drilled using the 1-1/4" bit.
I actually get your comment a lot about the Ridgid based on what is seen but it's one of those thing you have to feel for yourself so I might have to address that it has less felt vibration in a future video when I get a chance.
The only issue the Ridgid has is that each impact or pulse pushes the screw much further than any other impact so it's something you have to get used to when driving screws and have to make sure keep up with it when you push into the screw.

The length of the head of the impact guns makes a huge difference, the shorter the better. The larger than are the more they get in the way such as working in tight spaces around plumbing and other machanical work. Ridgid is longer Wich is why I will stay with Milwakiee. Rigid is Milwakiees parent company.

Nice, glad you like the stealth force. The surge is also brushless. I didn't say in words that but it's in the text shown a couple of times in the video. Milwaukee slaps the Fuel label on their cordless tools when they feature brushless motors and the latest features and performance. So if it says Fuel, it's a brushless tool.

Yeah! I tried to remove the anode manually, using a pipe on a 1/2" wrench. I figure I could pull with about 50 lbs at 2 feet. The anode didn't budge, but the water heater nudged. 100 foot pounds at 1/8" radius = 9600 pounds., probably more than the 1/4" hex stud could tolerate.
I bought a Milwaukee 2763-20 1/2" hammer. On power setting One it made interesting noises and moved nothing. On Two, it spun the anode fitting off after about one second. Yay!

Because i have seen people saying Milwaukee tools are expensive still every tool is around 100 bucks cheaper than i have to pay for them in my country.

whats the point of a 12v vs the 18v?
i know is less torque but why or for what?
12v tools are smaller more compact and lighter. A smaller tool can get into tighter areas than a larger tool and the lower weight is easier to hold longer. You can fit more of them in your tool bag and they are also cheaper. These are they're advantages of 12V tools but at the expense of less power and runtime but for many tasks 12V has enough performance and runtime and can be a great alternative to 18V

Jose Rojas in a 20yr Metal Carpenter and I run my gun the better part of an 8 hour day. I prefer the smaller 12v tools because of the weight in my tool belt. My toll belt weighs close to 50 pounds already but it's just a more comfortable tools to use in my opinion and I run self tapping screws all day long. I love the Milwaukee fuel 12v

you need an impact wrench for that but many impact drivers are capable of doing this just less powerful

As I mentioned in the previous comment, many impact drivers are capable of doing this. I haven't tried this specific model for that task as impact drivers aren't the right tool for lug nuts so I can't say from experience as I use an impact wrench for my cars lug nuts. From what I understand, hydraulic impulse drivers (quiet impact drivers) have less torque than regular impact drivers but they offer longer sustained torque so who knows if this specific model can or can't but yes, there are better tools or in other words, the right tool for the job.

I've replayed it so many times but this video seems a little rigged to me. during the first test it seems along with the Stealth Force , you were driving much of your own force with it, to a point your head appears in the frame. And the 2nd test showed Rigid had insane amounts of vibrations noticed at the battery end. Idk though, I could be wrong :D
Ah another rigged or biased comment, there's no shortage of people like you on RUclips every time there's a comparison video. And I'm not talking about my videos, I'm talking about other channels and categories.
But anyways if you feel it was rigged, that's fine but I challenge you to test it out for yourself. Go out there and compare them side by side and see for yourself and then come back here and tell me this test was still rigged. I have full confidence that after you test them all side by side you'll eat your words.
And no, pushing harder on an impact driver won't make it drive faster. All you would be doing is adding more stress to the tool and actually make it harder to push the fastener which thus would make the tool slower.
As for the vibration on the Ridgid, I've already explained this several times in the comments for this video so no point in repeating myself. Look over the comments for the answer.

If you haven't tried the Stealthforce you don't understand how it feels to use. It's impossible to hold it perfectly still compared to the other two. The way it hits is much different than a regular impact or even another fluid driver. But I love mine! I wonder the reason Ridgid doesn't carry them any more is because they may have been worried people wouldn't use it properly and over time hurt their wrists. You have to have a secure grip with it becasue it's trying to twist more with each hit than the other two.
Great review and videos to back it up. Otherwise I don think i could take Javier reviews seriously. Just looking at his workshop. First he has a Crafstman router table (hopefully a 690 motor), a Ridgid spindle sander, and finally a Ryobi drill press. Seems like he's digging in the bottom of the barrel for his tool shop. No Makita, MIlwaukee, Dewalt or Bosch. Maybe prop up an old Delta/Powermatic in the background, machine doesn't even have to work. Just to give a lil street cred. I'd compare it to a construction worker driving to the job site in a Toyota Corolla, trunk full of tools and a ladder strapped to the roof. Im sure he can get the job done just as good and the guy in the truck. Hopefully in the next episodes he get an upgrade from a special tool sponsor. "Festool, Im looking in your direction".
Thanks though not sure why you'd base my entire tool collection on three table top tools. And even if these were my only brands, you can work wonders with crappy tools. Just look at Steve Ramsey's woodworking videos. Most of his tools in his videos are what you'd call "bottom of the barrel". I also want to mention, that Ridgid oscillating sander is definitely not bottom of the barrel. More features and a larger table top than most stuff you'd find from Grizzly and Jet. As far as the router table, a router table is just a router table. I could put a "better brand" router on it but I'm sure some would still complain. I will say nobody's complained about my setup except you and those that follow me for years and seen my how to videos have seen a glimpse of my other tools part of my collection. But even if all I had was cheap tools, no biggie, my work speaks for itself. And I have a Dewalt DW625 3 HP router that you don't see that I've been itching to build a table for however just haven't had the time. As for the Ryobi drill press, sure it's by no means a tool that screams refinement but for my casual woodworking uses, it serves it's purpose. If I ever need a larger better unit I'll go out and get one but I don't need to just yet nor just to impress some guy.
Also, there's tons of people who love their Ridgid's and Craftman's and Ryobi's and swear by them. They all build quality tools within their pricepoint.
All in all I do appreciate the positive words at the outset.

I just recently bought this impacter. The collet will not hang onto bits for loving nor money. The bits i am using are new milwaukee shockwave impactor bits...
I'm not going to waste the time sending it back to milwaukee. I'm tempted to return it and the brand new milwaukee 1/2 hammer drill to home depot and get the Makita set. I could take them to a repair shop and get a new chuck and 2 ball collett....buy why? Milwaukee dropped the ball. They allmost won the race but just like the rabbit they got cocky and laid down and took a nap feet from the finish line...and the makita turtle won the race as a result. Not happy with this...

For real its a huge difference. Its quieter then most drills even. Most of the noise is gonna come from the materials your driving into. As driving into floppy sheet metal loosly laying on something metal will either way will be stupid loud but drivng screws into softer wood: (pun not intended) its silent.

Tool Craze the point is, if they end up charging you more than 50 dollars for the hydraulic mechansim it isnt worth it. chances are when your running am impact driver you also have other loud tools too.

I do a lot of work where I'm working around other people. Even if it was a $50 upcharge, it's still cheaper than buying everyone else in the space earmuffs. ;)
