I just bought a set of these used formula rx brakes and this is an excellent video for taking them apart and overhauling them thx !

Thanks. They are nice brakes but wish it was easier to get the spares and cheaper.

Thank you for sharing. I removed the deep o-ring with a utility pick. Installed all interiors on new master cylinder. The deep o-ring has a direction - make sure to look when removing, a head torch helps.

Thanks of the video. Think you could use a deep small socket as well to push down the C-clip into the 2nd groove evenly once you've got it started.

Nice video :-) Do you know where I can order a new lever bolt? Just lost it and cant find any places to order a new one.

Thanks. I'm afraid not, this lever is quite old now so the stock available is limited. Maybe you're best bet is to find a spares/repairs lever on ebay to buy and use that as a donor. Formula spares are quite expensive new.

@@Chambers36TheEnter I will try to find one on ebay then. Thanks a lot for your reply!

Can you make a guide on how to bleed it ? I have one that is mixed with shimano slx br-m665. When i try to bleed it no oil reach the lever. Idk what is causing this issue

I don't have any of these brakes at the moment, they all seem to have the same issue of lever sticking.
The Formula brakes use DOT fluid and Shimano Mineral oil so they are not really compatible with each other, it will cause the seals inside to go bad quickly.

@@Chambers36TheEnter thank you for your response. Im willing to upgrade them but for now i have to know what causing the issue why no oil go to the lever

My brake lever has broken and i don't wanna replace the entire thing, i only wanna replace the lever, but the shop i bought the bike from says that i gotta replace the entire thing, dont have money for it right now, any ideas brother man?

    • @Chambers36TheEnter

It's probably because the brake is old now so parts are not easy to get hold of.
The lever is part number FD40129-20 but might be best to find a good used lever on ebay or other site that deals with used goods.

@@reedbitwindalynes7879 I meant this model of RX is old, it was released around 2012. All you will probably find now is old left over stock.
