The award-winning short film "The 11th Order" is based on the true story of LCpl. Jordan Haerter and Cpl. Jonathan Yale, two United States Marines who stood their ground to stop a suicide truck bomb-saving the lives of the 150 Marines and Iraqi Police behind them. Written and directed by Marine veteran Joshua DeFour, the film was made in collaboration with the families of the fallen Marines and funded largely by the veteran and active duty military communities.
I'm sitting in Iraq right now as a contractor I've retired from the Corps. Listening to the banter in the movie brought me back. The banter civilians don't have, today's society would curl in a ball crying. This movie in many ways captured that interaction between Marines.
S/F I’ve sent this short film to all my buddies, we all agree it’s amazing work to finally make a movie about these two heroic devildogs.
We really appreciate that support, we just want to get this story out to the widest possible audience...but we knew we were making this for Marines and all in the military who would really appreciate what these young men did. Thank you for watching the film, Semper Fi! - Joshua
