Regarding the keyboard stuff at the beginning, typing with the swipe thing she's talking about is really easy once you're used to it, and that's coming from an american who's learning japanese so it's not like i grew up with it. Typing in Kanji, however, is pretty annoying imo. There's like thousands of kanjis, and it'll try to list the more common ones closer to the top as well as adjust to what kanjis you use the most, but that part is indeed pretty slow.
