the devs are brilliant, they might have nerfed light gadgets, but slowly they are buffing each poor weapons as viable ones like the melee (especially dagger) and now the throwing knives

Damage buff was deffinetly bit too much. On the other hand other buffs made it actually useable
Yea I’d nerf the dmg down a bit and buff the alt fire to make it a more balanced weapon
Damage was risen just enough so mediums would be 4hit kills

What's truly sad is the fact these throwing knives are actually not OP. It's a real sign of how nerfed most weapons in game truly are. If you adjusted any of the other guns barely, they would become OP as well. The TTK is only good if and only if the player using the knives is good, which most aren't at playing them. Ottr makes most weapons look like they are OP, but in our hands we don't get the same outcome.
Most of these players play medium and heavy they never touched light and always talk trash about light and spam healing beam. Oh how the tables have turned I definitely getting my get back 🗣️🗣️💯

@Ultroumbonee Try using throwing knives in rank against decent, good, skilled player, and a team that plays together. They are capable of being countered easily. If you're even down one player, you're still a light class with low HP and can die to many MMH or HHM teams that are capable of counter playing them.

Well, in some of my montages you can see what tk meant to me before the buff and what they were about (yep, precision, RMB stunning kill). May be I'm not so good player at all, but tk had something special and it's gone. Now the weapon is unfairly strong against other players.
I always felt like throwing knives were way better than what people thought. Kinda disappointing how they overbiffed them and now one of the most fun proj weapons just feels like hitscan. They needed to just buff right click and leave it at that
Completely agree, I got 400 hrs on them. Buff rclick to 149 dmg so you can 2 cycle medium with synergy. It was all they needed to be really brought into the limelight

Since I have 400hrs on these I personally think it’s a pretty bad buff for the weapon because it’s pretty much removed any synergy with using both fire types, right click is useless. To buff them properly they needed to up the damage of the right click and keep the left the same maybe a tiny bit more damage, speeding them up was not the right move IMO. right should do like 149, and the left should have done like 1 or 2 more damage than before to allow a skilled player to use the synergy to 2 cycle players rather than than 2 cycling with just the left that people are doing now. it should be more rewarding to be good with both rather than just one, I thought they were pretty balanced before people just didn’t know how to use them but being able to do enough damage with the right skill to 2 cycle a medium would have been the right way to go to bring them into the limelight rather than the straight left buff that has just removed the right click atm love the game and I love that my favourite weapon is getting more love, however it has taken away a large portion of what made them so fun to me in the first place.

As a dagger main and throwing knife om the side they definitely overtuned the throwing knife playing with any other light wepon against throwing kinfe in mid to close rage the average player is going to get smoked by them eventually its all you'll see being run on lights until they get changed.. again..
Light class needs to be harder to use but better if that makes sense. This is because lots of casual players just pick up the class and can get kills but its utterly useless in diamond rank. This buff to throwing knives was a step in the wrong direction as u have made a weapon Ideal for casual gameplay but not a single player playing ranked will touch the throwing knives. I get the fact the weapon needed a buff but making it this easy to use was a bad decision by embark. Also when you ranked players say nerf heavy. Like with light its not that simple. No one plays heavy in casuals its just mid. They need to make heavy more independent and easy to play but nerf it as a whole. Again embark has been giving the wrong nerfs to heavy. For example the recoil patterns becoming more difficult to learn.

Learn the timing and then you can start the fight with super insane burst damage? That or poke in and out with it

Hey Ottr they fixed the sword exploit but now everyone is using the dagger exploit not many people knew about it or even used it before bc there was the sword and i did some testing and i figured out the dagger exploit so if you quick melee before you do a backstab you get the quick melee and the backstab in at the same time in the quick melee animation then right after not even more then a second later you can backstab again so you do a quick melee that has the dmg of a quick melee and backstab then a backstab that is faster then normal right after. I ran into a few games and there was a guy using and abusing it and i want people to become aware alsooo the melees with the mesh shield should have never been taken i talked to lots and lots of people and no one likes the fact they took that away bc people was doing it with the charge and slam and iv heard some people talking about not using mesh again bc its bad now its a weak shields with no cover for yourself. I think the quick melee with the mesh shield was actually a balance for it and now that they have removed it i feel like mesh is gonna become trash among the "meta" (all tho i dont think there is a meta bc you can be good with anything meta is just what guns are easiest for people to do good with thats why they are "meta" bc they are easily used by all players and good enough that good players become great with it and bad players become good😂)

Yeah idk where this idea of buffing knives came from but its def too much. Its good at close range two taping people like a shoty, its good at long range leaving you wondering why you'd bother packing a sniper or lh1 or even the xp, and oh yeah it has unlimited ammo so you can chase people into oblivion.

Also light: sword does more damage than a shotgun point blank, dagger can insta kill and throwing knives can kill heavies in 6 hits.

RIP the finals, this is their balancing decision for everything. I knew when i read the title they were going to make it 3x as fast, just make them do more, make right click faster whilst doing less, or make them slightly faster / do higher damage for chain hits to promote combo's and focused aim...
tbf the old fire rate was abysmal
@@SlushyIsMyNamethe fire rate wasn’t changed, it was the speed they fire at and the damage, the buff has removed the uniqueness and just made it another hitscan weapon rather than keeping the uniqueness that they had with leading shots and synergising the fire modes, the only buff needed was right click damage and it would have been perfectly balanced

@@meow7985 well they decreased the time it takes to throw the first knife, and decreased the time in between the two knives, making the rate at which knives are thrown slightly faster. Idk sounds like fire rate to me.

thats probably true, especially by the end of the season, people got their diamond, completed battle pass, some might keep loggin for the events and dailies/weeklies but yeah i'd say most good players left or took a break
