I now feel empowered to cut, and polish the granite slab for m outdoor kitchen project. Watching you use the template, and just taking your time and made me realize I can do it. Thank you.
BRO INCREDIBLY STRONG, PICKED UP THAT HUGE 3 SINK SLAB. ALSO BEST VIDEO ON CUTTING AND POLISHING...SHOWED THE POLISHING STEPS, SOME DRY SOME WITH THAT WET SPONGE PROVIDING DRIPPING WATER. EXCELLENT
Great Video. There are so many with specialist equipment but very few like this I fit kitchens in the UK and today had to trim a granite worktop. Using only this video as a guide, the results were literally perfect, and earned me a grand. Thank you, seriously thank you
Beautiful work, and you can bet your life that the eventful owners had a clue how much skill went into creating their worktop. I hope they paid you well for such nice work.
Great Video.I am just collecting tools to do a job done.Could you please list the order of Polishing pads.Which number pad is first and so on.Many Thanks.
Can this be done without the use of water? I have to modify my existing installed counters. Two straight cuts and then polishing the edge. Also, can you link the blades and polishing pads needed? Awesome video!
Dammit Mr. Ostrom! You made that look easy enough that I think I might be able to do it, too. I've got most of the tools. My wife would love some granite counter tops...
Love your videos!! Can you describe how to polish the inside corners on a granite countertop. I have done this on a curved inside corner but the one I am attempting now is 90 degrees and I dont know if my diamond pads will be able to get in that tight without rubbing out the side adjacent to the one I am polishing. Any of your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@@TileCoach Perfect, I will try that. What are your thoughts on using hand pads on the last 1/8" on the inside corners? Or you think new pads is sufficient to avoid damaging my piece. Thanks!
The most impressive thing to me is that he's never gotten anything in his eyes. Man, you need to wear safety goggles or at least glasses while you cut.
After reading the comments it is obvious that you don't reply but I sure would like to know where I could get that wet circular saw you were using to cut the straight lines.
very helpful to cut the corners..I have couple of question: 1. what is the name of the tool used to hole the corners? 2. Please let me know the pad I need to attach to my angle grinder to half nosing or bull nosing?
Isaac, I have a question. I have an under-mount sink and the granite cracked (a large, 1/8" wide, crack) in the back near back splash, at a dowel pinned joint. Considering cutting out a large opening, removing damaged area, and installing a "farmhouse sink". Can this be done "on-site" without removing the entire counter top?
What do you think of the silicone grinding wheels? I love the 120 and 220 stone to get rid of scratches especially on dark granite. Love the video though great info. Im 25 been doing granite since I was 18 it's tough work but well worth it.
I love most of these comments are about safety glasses hehehe But I think that most of you guys would try this as a hobby kinda thing, on the other hand Isaac is the kind guy/craftsman that loves his job and also like challenges and that kind breed of craftsmen rarely where safety glasses. Isaac as always Awesome work man!!!
Thanks for showing the right tools to use and the vacuum tip to avoid messing up with dust, not sure how you do it without eyes and respiratory protection...
For you mere mortal human beings out there granite is really heavy stuff. If you're a couch potato type don't go thinking you can toss it around like plywood. Feels more like an engine block still attached to the car..
Probably great for people who’ve already know what is going on. Would be much better for us newbies to know what tools/blades/drill bits/polishing pads were being used.
Not sure if it’s already mentioned & apologize if it is, specifics on your hardware? Personally more concerned about your cutting disks but others could benefit from the knowledge? Loved your presentation nonetheless and thank you!
Love this video! I have access to scrap granite pieces and would love to trim the edges on some for projects. I would like to know how to just chisel the edges for a rough look too. I tried to but it was hard work. I don't think I had the right stuff either. :(
Anybody wanna explain what a "2 cm" granite but laminated is? I just purchased a house that's under construction by KB homes in Florida and granite countertops prices ranged from $2000-$10,000. I got the cheapest $2000 but they said its level 1 granite. In the pictures it looked like a real granite but now I'm worried that it may be a something fake or very little granite.
Use a water fed proper polisher for that mirror-like finish. What u did works for that type of stone but I guarantee that will not work as well for most natural stone
Its only like 70-80 kilos, its not that heavy, but yea u gotta be strong to lift it by yourself, i used to call someone to carry pieces like that one with me , but now i do it by myself
I like the template material, beats rosin paper any day but i mark my template on the stone with masking tape. Feels a lot safer when I work it. Especially with water
Used this informational DIY and have successfully cut and polished prefab granite. A huge thanks!! Extremely helpful!
Excellent, you are amatuer DIY?
I now feel empowered to cut, and polish the granite slab for m outdoor kitchen project. Watching you use the template, and just taking your time and made me realize I can do it. Thank you.
I have a clear understanding of how to do this now. Easily the best no bullshit video I've seen.
I was most impressed by the lifting of the uncut slab into place by your self. Great end results as well.
Michael Breault he’s lucky it didn’t break. Even 3cm is immensely weak under too much weight strain. He’s a beast, but a lucky one.
My second hernia. That happen.
dude safety glasses.. I know they are a pain on wet cuts but your dry cuts you should wear them
good video though....
It’s easier when you don’t have to hold the camera

You have got skills. Learned a lot
Beautiful work, and you can bet your life that the eventful owners had a clue how much skill went into creating their worktop. I hope they paid you well for such nice work.
Isaac Ostrom how much should I charge to cut to small round tabletops from granite? Diameter is 16. I gave them a $180 quote for both small tabletops
Isaac Ostrom I SUBSCRIBED and added some of your videos to my tradesman playlist
Great video! Lots of good detail 👍 👍
Wow, good job man - looks good.
Wow great video and music, holy Hot! I can watch you all day lol.
Man! You are not Tile Coach. You are Stone Coach!

That sponge idea genius
Beautiful job
I guess there's more than one way to cook a chicken, great video.....👍👍
you the man bro
That a baby Isaac. I know that’s you I could recognize you a mile away! Great job!
Coming from a stone fabricator, that's pretty impressive . A lot of work too.
Holy shit, under mount sinks...you must love working with stone/solid surface! Lot of work... Music is great and good editing!
i hate the sinks. luckily my work has a cnc that does the cutting, but if it messes up we have to to do it by hand. i suck at corners.
Nice job !
But how did you do the bevel edge?
It’s prefab
how heavy is the granite slab? You were able to carry it yourself, amazing.

Outstanding! Thank you! Time and patience!
personally, I think you did a great job!
Amazingly valuable info, thank you.
We need some help in our granite shop, you interested? Lol you're showing a lot more skill than most would realize
very informative ..... learned a lot , thanks
166k views but only 671 likes!? I think you were amazing! Thanks. I shall be employing your methods for mine.
Great job bud! Looks very professional...
Oh baby the music choice 🥲🥲🥲 Tears of joy
Excellent Isaac, thanks for the video!

Exactly. Little things like that make me seriously question people’s intelligence.
@@KenRobinsonchannel 😂
What polishing pads are you using there?
Informative video, thx. Any technique for polishing those tight radius corners?
This guys the freakin bomb
What types of pads did you use to polish? Can you link it below?
what blade doe you use on your angle grinder to cut the granite? Thanks
Hey bud - great job, sweet video! What tool & bit did you use to cut the pilot holes? Is it a traditional power drill or something else? Thanks!!
Isaac Ostrom Thanks Isaac!!
What blade are you using (brand/model number)? Thanks.
can you use sand paper to polish the granite and if so what grade?
After reading the comments it is obvious that you don't reply but I sure would like to know where I could get that wet circular saw you were using to cut the straight lines.
I bought it at home depot
@@TileCoach Awesome! I just ordered it. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
Dope vid, i can beat you in a race for speed and quality on the cutouts but you got me on cleanliness!!
That's probably why you don't wear safety glasses.
Great video and thanks for sharing . Looking for the hole cutter and Metabo drill used . I notice you showed the tool for polishing
very helpful to cut the corners..I have couple of question:
1. what is the name of the tool used to hole the corners?

How many pounds was that slab? 200? Good work! Where did you get metabo grinder?
do you know which glue is used to glue two pieces of granite or marble. For example at 1:56 the top part of that slab has a thin piece glued to it.
good job
Great video bro thanks
That is beautiful work!

What size diamond bit did you use? Thanks in advanced.
Yo pebble tile whisperer! How much do you charge a customer to set a sliced pebble shower floor, and can you use thin set mortar?
Please and thank you

Dope video thanks for the lesson I've been doing this trade also and want to learn more :)
Who's the one holding the camera? You should do how to make a video :)
Good job mate 👍
This is a good idea to understand the cost of it
Did you use a regular angle grinder or was it a multispeed grinder? What tool did you attach the round corner hole blade to?
I love most of these comments are about safety glasses hehehe
But I think that most of you guys would try this as a hobby kinda thing, on the other hand Isaac is the kind guy/craftsman that loves his job and also like challenges and that kind breed of craftsmen rarely where safety glasses.

Thank you Isaac
The metabo WE -9 125 grinder is that sold in the USA? It’s not coming up online.
Get the cyclone dust collector attachment for that fine dust.. it will help that filter immensely
Thanks for showing the right tools to use and the vacuum tip to avoid messing up with dust, not sure how you do it without eyes and respiratory protection...
Did you use different saw-blades for wet cutting and dry cutting?
Love my quartz counter tops and under mount sinks...
Quartz for the win! I hate granite. it can be a hassle to work with.
But quartz is also more toxic because of the resin that it's made with.
For you mere mortal human beings out there granite is really heavy stuff. If you're a couch potato type don't go thinking you can toss it around like plywood. Feels more like an engine block still attached to the car..
Love your work to great job
Probably great for people who’ve already know what is going on. Would be much better for us newbies to know what tools/blades/drill bits/polishing pads were being used.
Grinder with diamond wheel, core diamond bit to drill round holes, diamond polishing pads to polish stone

you carried that alone!!!!
Is that a 2 cm granite?
its 2 cm yes but its laminated and still heavy as f*&^% !!!

You are very efficient , good job. I have to cut several pieces 2" x2"
Good video!
thanks, this was VERY helpful. a beanbag would help stay the vac hose...or a $10/hr helper.
California. $25/hr
Thought you required to use water to cut those, especially that thickness, and polishing too. Thanks for doing the video
Granite dosent require. Water. It gets a better polish without it ✅
Nice video. What type of disk are you using on the grinder to cut? The one in the first cut you make.
Use a water fed proper polisher for that mirror-like finish. What u did works for that type of stone but I guarantee that will not work as well for most natural stone
The music is cool and great job as well. How does the Ryobi wet saw you were using perform?
Thank you for the information. I will be buying one.

Draw on the granite with a paint pen, get rid of the paper, and run more water.. especially with those core bits.
Excellent demonstration.

where would I buy the slab from? I live in the DC area.
Were you doing this for yourself, a client, or just to demo? If for a client, why did you decide to manually cut it?
Thanks
Is it possible to do without power tools?
