Alis cheeky little smile after that escape lol.
That escape was genius!
Just what I thought.
nope
the word genius gets thrown around too much
Clever but not genius
Hello you Cnut from Harvey was also genius
Carter knew exactly what he was doing hitting that ball the way he did. That cheeky grin after the shot said it all for me
As time goes on, I realise how weird my brain is. We watched this exact moment on the TV live at work today. We had no audio, but when it happened, a work colleague called it a foul and a miss. I was going to correct him saying it's just a foul, but I wasn't fully confident. Now that I've heard it was actually a foul, thinking about how I failed to set the record straight made me sick to my stomach 😂😂😂
Yeah, it's not a miss as he hit the green. It's just an in-off standard foul.
@@Volvoman90 That's the thing, it was only once I left my comment when I realised why it's not a miss (as you've explained). It sounds silly to admit that I didn't fully understand that rule till now, especially that it's self explanatory. In my mind, a "foul" without the miss was only up to the discretion of the ref, like those times where the cue ball is in a super awkward position and the ref calls a foul after many fouls and a miss.
Hopefully that makes sense. But yeah, I cannot believe it has taken me this long to realise what the "miss" rule means...
@@Volvoman90 If it's on purpose it's a deliberate fowl.
Don't work too hard.
@@truckerfromreno Only if you chicken out.
The crowd showed their ignorance of the game of snooker groaning as the cue ball went in the pocket. He played for that result with the pace he struck it so as to get the green up the other side of the table and safe on the cushion. Great shot.
He didn't play to pot it, you're showing your ingorance trying to call the crowd ignorant! 🤣 He played it hard to try and rattle the jaws so that it would stay out of the pocket! Your pride took over trying to claim you know better than everyone in the crowd, but I don't believe you are correct
@@JesusIsGodInTheFlesh3 In fact it was you who is ignorant of the commenter who is ignorant of the ignorance of the crowd, both of you, the players, the crowd and everyone watching live had no idea what was going to happen. IGNORANCE ALL THE WAY DOWN.
@@JesusIsGodInTheFlesh3edited your comment and still wrong lol
@@Clyde__Frog Explain then genius 😂😂😂
@@ryleypalmer I made a grammar mistake 😂 Where did I get it wrong? Happy to be wrong, please point out the truth
When I saw this live, my brain was like: wait, is he allowed to purposely pot the white? And yes, of course he is. This is as close to a professional foul from football as you're gonna get in snooker. Brilliant out of the box thinking from Ali!
Great shot ali. Great shot.❤❤
Was expecting Carter the angry manchild to blow his top with this fluke
"Sometimes I dont think he realises how much luck he gets....." i remember that interview :D
They get the luck , but pull a face when their opponrnt gets it.
0:58 I like his commentary but why would you get angry about bad luck, something you have no control over and flukes happen a lot in snooker. If its possible then it happens😊
True but it is gonna sting, Thats just it
Earlier in the exact same frame Judd misjudged a cannon to a red on the left cushion. Only flicked it but it resulted in the perfect angle on a blue. All things being equal nobody even comes close to Trump when it comes to moments like this. Even now when he no longer bashes them up like he used to(more distance the cue ball travels, greater opportunity for flukes). Buzzing for Carter. He’s on a shortlist of players that haven’t yet won the World’s but who you could reasonably say might.

Why on earth are people clapping and cheering this? that's why Carter looks stunned. 90% of the audience have no idea where they are or what day it is. Just clapping and making zoo noises like arctic seals
Some of the audience were disgraceful in the final, especially that last frame. Whistling as shots were getting played too
Love to see break from life recreate this
It's not difficult
Recreate the fluke😂
@@clubfillerspinkknickers9791depends on wich shot he recreates 😆🫶🏻
He's always chuntering
Napolean complex.
What does cuntering mean?
Arguably a deliberate foul.
Funny how he couldn't raise a smile at where the balls finished after Judd's shot and yet he could after his deliberate in-off.
Yep I thought that too - and didn’t he make a meal of Judds fortune too
@@muckle8 Sure did, he needs to acquire a sense of humour from somewhere.

always laugh it off, cos everyone gets them, judd would have been hoping to ali get angry , it is a wild fluke tho!!
I've been watching snooker for 50 years, that's a first on me lol
And Ali still slapped him. It was a great match.
Snooker gods have lumped on Judd 😉
It's unlike Ali to moan!!!
Surely not!
Ali Carter, the biggest cry baby in snooker if the luck goes against him, but when he's the one getting the luck he's all smiles and laughing.
I'd rather he didn't smile......he looks like a gerbil when he does.
I actually think he is not a very nice person. I think he has a permanent chip on his shoulder.
@@harrys1505 Personal highlight was when O'Sullivan tried to barge it off, didn't seem to work, mind
@@ljones396 Well it did, look at Ronnie's record against Carter. Also that incident (shoulder barge) was by Carter having zero table etiquette, you're supposed to let your opponent leave the table before you take your turn, Ali was literally on the table before Ronnie left that entire game. Carter is a clown.
@@RZPPAA don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Carter, I'm not a fan of him either. I was referring to trying to rid the chip off his shoulder, he's still a clown.
DomDale couldn't be more camp if he tried. He reminds me of Frank Spencer
ooh betty 😅
Lmao 🤣
Great bloke.
and we love him for it. Let the boring BBC have all the plain vanilla commentators.
@@p____p4telI love Dominic Dale but I’d take the BBC ones ANY time over fucking Neal and Joe. Absolute snooze-fest.
Carter u got to laugh.....
Potted it on purpose obviously
Why isn't it a miss?
@@keinKlarname Because he hit the green first.
I wonder if he had hit the brown 1st would the ref have noticed or is there var in this?
@@graemewilliams6697 Can a miss only be called if you don't hit the ball on first?
He played the shot that a foul was almost guaranteed. And he got a good result out of it - from an intentionally played foul.
@@keinKlarname "When a player commits a foul and the cue ball remains on the table, the opponent may either play from the resulting position or-if the position is disadvantageous-request the offender play again. If the cue ball is potted or leaves the table, the opponent receives it "in-hand" and may then place it anywhere on or within the "D" for the next shot. "
Now what I wonder is, what happens if Carter just shoots the Cue Ball into a free hole. The green seemed rather safe at this spot, so Ball in hand wouldn't help much - but maybe I'm wrong and it was doable and Carter saw that. EDIT: Maybe it's "Free Ball" - Trump could've named any color and potted it for points and then proceed the game normally.
That was a lot of plot twists in two shots
Why does Ali remind me of a little boy 🤣🤣🤣
A little rent boy.
That was brilliant thinking by carter to take the 4 and not the miss .
I mean, it was pretty unlucky to not pot it in the first place lol
Deliberate fowl?
Most likely he played it that way on purpose, trying to hit the green up the table and knock the cue ball in to keep it in bulk, based on how hard he hit it and how little of the green he could see. Only other possibility was that he was trying to rattle the jaws and knock the green out, but I doubt he'd hit it that hard if that was the case. The outcome would be too unpredictable.
Foul.
Difference in commentary standards - on BBC, Hendry and Virgo spotted straight away that Carter deliberaretly potted the cue ball. And a word of advice to Dominic Dale.......learn to shut up once in a while. It will improve your commentary.
Well he doesn't need that stupid comment to do so mate.
Well i think he does, and it looks like others agree with me.
@@roadofsnookerfinals6572 Do you know what i think of people who put 'mate' at the end of sentences when replying to strangers comments?
Lol that's why he's there and we're here 😂
@@paulr6881 Well that's obvious, but if you listen to Dale compared to other commenatror's.....he talks ALL THE TIME and says the most obvious things......as if the viewers who are watching can't see it for themselves.
That level of luck sums up judd trump.
Up and down the table double kiss the green into the pocket haha😅
When I first see this shot I thought hit the green and then pocket it
Can’t call a foul and a miss
Genius 😉
STEPHEN LEE also hates Ali Carter
The only way Judd could have got any luckier is if he had potted the green and put the brown on 😂. Excellent escape by Ali, did what he had to do amd made sure it stuck
Ali hates judd so much....and i can't blame him😂
He was lucky Judd didn't pot it, but everyone is saying he's unlucky to be snookered.. to be fair he should of potted the green and have been game over and Ali would be out of the frame...
From the standard angle camera it looks like you can't squeeze by the brown, but you actually can. How misleading is that view!
If Judd had got the green in the brown would have been lucky to be left over pocket for him next too!!😂
Ali lets flukes against him, get to him far too much, this one is understandably though!! Trust me, he gets really angry and almost foams at the mouth and stirs at opponents who get flukes against him, when he should do what ronnie and most others do, they show nothing on the face. Id love Ali to win it, hes far better than he thinks, go on Ali!!
You have caused confusion and delay
Shot of the tournament so far !
I think Judd was unlucky almost potted the green 3 times
The right answer.
Great decision by captain!
What a crazy match
I have a question: What would have happened if Carter just potted the white anywhere else without playing the Green Ball? Still 4 Foulpoints and Ball in Hand, but looking at the Green and Brown it seems rather hard to pot the Green from the "D".
Free ball
Or force continue
Or force retake
Foul and a miss
@@kevinstorey9297 and freeball
Not certain, but I think a foul and a miss and - crucially - a free ball.
I agree with Ronnie, this guy just brings bad vibes with him to the table. Cry more Ali
Judd ALWAYS gets a fluke!
Clever. Didint think about that
Ali always takes these things in good humour though, bless him!
Like hell he does, he has that horrid smarmy grin on his face when things are good for him but he is always annoyed when another player gets the good luck.
Could judd have put the balls back as it was a foul and if not why?
Couldn't of happened to nicer guy! Lol..
Sure Ronnie would say 😅
When's the last time his hair saw some shampoo...
Ooof woooo oooof woooo wayyyyyyy
Why be angry at your opponent ? We all get flukes, and it wasn`t that tough to get out of really. Off the top cushion with a load of leftside, but as for the cue ball, well it go could go anywhere. Commentator talking a load of old horse sh*te. As for Carter`s attempt, I think it could be called as a deliberate foul to be honest.
Trump getting lucky, nothing new there.
I hope he's not related to the Tangerine Toddler. Unfortunate surname of he isn't.
Escape was easy, he over reacted
A quality fluker. More importantly what is juntering?
Chuntering. Grumbling, mumbling, quietly complaining, that sort of thing.
@Moon Thank you for
Ali Carter is sooo irritating
Carter gets a rep of being a bit of a moaner but he’s entitled to have a moan about this one tbf
I thought intentional fouls were illegal?
There are rules to prevent trying to benefit from a foul. Slight difference. Had Carter attempted the more difficult shot the commentators were describing and fouled, a miss would probably have been called (and possibly a free ball depending on the result), which gives his opponent more options on how to proceed. Repeated misses can cause a player to lose the frame. But he took a direct shot at the green, which was the simplest way to hit it, and the expected strategy according to the miss rule (the reason for that is that there can be impossible situations in snooker, so you're only expected to make your best effort - if all else fails, take a direct shot at the target ball with enough force to reach it, regardless of whatever else might be in the way, even if it means a foul). After the foul, Trump could have made Carter take the next shot if he didn't like the situation he was left with, so he hasn't benefitted from it.
@@TheMoonRover Regarding 'Repeated misses can cause a player to lose the frame.'
That's only if you can see BOTH extremities either side of the ball, so you can hit far left/far right of a ball, that's not even a thing here.
There is absolutely no way the shot he played was easier than going up and down the table from the black cushion, he just knew if he did it this way the white would go in. I could easily get out of that snooker, so could my dog, the problem is getting it safe, WHICH is why Carter played this shot, which is why it's cheating, he knew the white would go in, which is why it's cheating, he knew it was an intentional foul (they couldn't prove) which is why it's cheating.
Intentional fouls are illegal in snooker, and there wasn't 1% chance that white ball wasn't going in the pocket if he played it the way it did, which is an intentional foul. Why else is he laughing?
They carry a two-year prison sentence.
Stop crying and get on with it
How did that green not go in initially ?! Was hugging the cushion
Possibly some weird spin from rattling in jaw of pocket? No idea just a theory
Is tgat not technically cheating out of a position???
Mr Victim
I can't stand Ali Carter!

Ali Carter deserves to be banned from professional snooker for life o er the trouble he’s causing with Ronnie O’Sullivan he’s attacking poor Ronnie on everything Ronnie does for saying Ronnie as a mental illness he deserves to be banned from professional snooker for life he a disgrace to snooker

Who is that commentator for first part of vid? Absolutely awful!
Dominic Dale, he's actually pretty funny. Nickname is 'The Spaceman'. From Wales.
@@RZPPAA He's from Coventry.
@@BadgerBotherer1He was born in Coventry and then moved to Wales before he was 1. He's got a Welsh accent, his parents are Welsh and he was brought up there. He plays snooker as a Welsh national. He also commentates the Welsh Open which only allows Welshmen/Women to commentate on.

That would be a foul and a miss, so green and brown would be replaced as is.
