@@Thatfan864 i think it was really great. Land of The Sun arc was a lot more focused on the introspective aspects, because Asta was at a pretty low point in this arc. He got rejected by sister Lily, sucked it up like a trooper, but then got told to off himself by her literally minutes later. She even nearly killed him. He was then landed in some foreign country where he understood absolutely nothing. During the arc, the focus was mainly on Asta dealing with his own inner thoughts and ultimately overcoming his greatest fear at the end, and then clearing up the sky with Zetten, which can be interpreted as Asta finally cutting down the cloud in his mind. if you look at from that perspective, its not that bad of an arc. Besides, its just the build-up for the final arc, which I think it does a fairly great job at doing.
One thing some people don't point out too much is that even though Tabata kinda fumbled Morris towards the end of the Spade Arc, he had Lucius bring him back which showed he still had plans for him and ever since he came back, Morris has been great. Really shows why Lucius is the GOAT and I can't wait to see what else he does going forward.

What exactly were you expecting from a 3rd grade character like Morris? He was the pawn of the dark triade and now is the pawn of the next antagonist. Scientists are often just used and abused. Lucius wanted Morris to create the fodder angels to kill all the people because obviously he doesn't have enough paladins. I don't think that makes Lucius a GOAT. It was just a strategic move
I don't think many people realize that Tabata has been slow cooking this narrative since the first chapter. Personally, I think he's underrated in his storytelling ability.

Okay so the plot twist was good. But it goes nowhere after that, no explanation just a new villain..now 4 chaps left for the series
What I like about this a lot is that Julius' first battle in the story made him appear like a villain, too. The members of the Midnight Sun returned to their base with a kidnapped Asta and Julius appeared out of nowhere, which made a lot of people (including me) think he was in on it with them and betraying the Clover Kingdom, even if just for a moment.
Its true even just his look sometimes I felt like he was in on something that the wizard king shouldn't have been doing. The way he blocked off communication as well to sneak off and look around the kingdom now makes it seem like it was part of it. Like both Yami and Vangeance were shown to have been recruited by Julius. And I think they are the only ones, I don't think that it is a coincidence either. So many more things make more sense and other things seem to go deeper. The reveal is definitely amazing.
Fr i was doubting him the whole time, but the fight vs Patry changed my mind. Amazing how one fight changed my opinion on Julius and i never thought he could have been an ultimate villain anymore.
I would really like to find out that the reason the clock tower was stopped because Astaroth kept rewinding the battle and in truth Lucifero had won the battle like thousands of times already.
I love the Spade Saga. Every arc has flaws so this one does. My only real issue is Morris. Thats it. And the fights oh my god the fights. Asta vs the twins Noelle vs Vanica Dant vs freaking MAGNA. The fights were peak shonen
Yeah i had high expectations of Morris but was pretty let down. I guess even with the devil buff, his match up against the black bulls is still very bad I hope tabata (or johnny) will make the diamond kingdom saga when he finishes black clover. I'm very much interested in their history, especially with their lore involving the 3 wizard kings in the sword of the wizard king movie
The spade arc was definitely great. Tabata should’ve stopped with the devils right after that though. He could’ve kept Lucius as an Angel or something other than devil just to keep the story fresh.
"Eveything but the rain" had the same effect for bleach, suddenly everything made sense and many questions of not all involving ichigo and other characters were answered, still my favorite chapter in manga of all time
One thing I wish you had brought up was how there was just enough plausibility that Julius wasn't affiliated with the time devil due to the existence of Spatial Magic users. But that the give away was that Julius was the only Time Mage recorded. That was fantastic writing on Tabata's part and I don't think it's brought up enough. Great video.
@@ThatAnimeSnob All of the Qliphoth devils correlate with devils in mythology, down the name. The Qlipoth is a "real" thing, people just cross referenced. Lucifero and Beezlebub are at the bottom, they rule Gravity and Space. Astaroth would've been fourth. Combined with Megicula presenting herself as the same range as Lucifero and Beezlebub, it wasn't a hard guess. It was either Astaroth or Belial. And given Astaroth's name, it was most likely him.
Well, if Lucifero had won thousands of times already simply using his gravity presence and brute force alone at another timelines but that's changed and make it never happened because Astaroth's time manipulation, I think it's pretty understandable for Lucifero to not use any spell. "Of course I'd win this easily (I already did thousands of times already), why would use any spell if I can win by simply punching them" or something along those lines. I'd be confused as hell too if something like that happens. In the end, Lucius know Lucifero is cocky af and that ultimately bring him to his demise. Being the ultimate strong makes him not using his "battle IQ" fully. With changing to Jump Giga, Tabata sensei have more prep time and I faithfully believe that he will deliver peak.
I would say a max of 50 time cause their would still be a limit to his magical energy cause even if he is a devil possessed he will eventually run out of mana so one thousand is a little much, cause we also don't know how much mana his using to reverse time
My fav chapter is actually 332 bc it was the return of the king, metaphorically and literally, Julius "comes back" only to reveal that he is actually Lucius and bro disrespected Asta so badly, not only does he merc him he turns the love of his life, sister Lily, and has HER finish him off in an even more disrespectful way, like she didn't even let him finish his heroic line, she just teleported him in a snap 😢😢 and to top it all off she did it with Asta's harem helplessly watching 😭😭😭 truly goated chapter imo
When I first watched Black Clover, I had a feeling something was off about Julius. I couldn't describe what, but he just gave off villain vibes. He has a magic attribute that I associate with what powers a villain would have. Reading chapter 331 made it make more sense, even though as the series went on, my suspicions went away about Julius til 331.
So when two of the eye of the midnight sun went against him his whole demeanor kinda changed to dark because we usually see him as a magic loving dork to a cold blooded killer
We all knew that something was off with Julius from the beginning, let’s be honest. The only thing I thought he’d be more related to the elves instead of the Spade triad, like, we obviously didn’t know anything about them at the beginning which is why my suspicion was totally off
From a narrative standpoint it was a genius move by Tabata to introduce us to Lucius Zogratis. Instead of introducing a completely new character to be the final antagonist he used a already established character Julius and opened a new facette on him. That way he avoided a Kaguya Otsotuki situation. It's the other way around. Aizen is for years regarded as one of the best Shonen villains. I wouldn't compare them by any means. Nobody has ever heard of Lucius Zogratis. It's Julius design with inverted colors. Maybe an anime adaptation can deliver a menacing and unique demeanor to Lucius one day.

Ever since the purple orca captain betrayed the capital i started speculating against Julius. Because Willium being "licht" patri was so obvious to me. When i want back and saw purple orca, willium, and Julius all with a black background in op2 it just gave me such an odd feeling. Then the chapter dropped showing the tree of qlithoth needing Yami and Willium, and around that SAME TIME my best friend pointed out how Zenon and Julius lowkey look similar. Everything clicked for me then and there. Told best bro, he was on board with the theory. Over time we just started connecting more and more dots i even posted on twitter my theory about a year before the reveal. The night chapter 331 dropped i couldnt be happier cause all my other friends were calling us mad men "Julius could never be evil" they said😂
William being "Licht" patri was obvious but I think they were really good chapters. It was all about the execution. William confronting Julius on the highest tower and them fighting each other

I never got the issue with Morris. He was a scientist. Even with broken powers, he went up against broken characters with combat experience. Could he have put up a slightly longer fight yes, but I had no issue with him. His only feats prior to his Spade reintroduction was he did Mars, Fana and Ladros's various enhancement surgeries and ruling Diamond from the shadows(with the Diamond king being an older and sick figure).
For the 3 "L's" that appeared, all of them are explained logically. 1. Gaja not dying made sense for multiple reasons. 1st. Rill's Twilight Valhalla spell was still being kept active and literally prevents death. Gaja "died" while the spell was still being effective, but since he couldn't die until the effects we're over, he was still able to hold to "life". 2nd. Mimosa came after the fight, and Rill was not unconscious. Sure, he may have been weakened and running low on Magic, but was still trying to make sure he didn't pass out. Then comes Mimosa to heal Gaja (which was always foreshadowed but dumbasses don't know what "paying attention" if you explained to them what 2+2 is), and since Gaja was still "alive", he could be saved. 2. Morris not being a "true villian" wqs just some hype build up by a small portion of the fanbase. Him being "fumbled" was the equivalent of expexting an Elite Rank villan being top dog, when their Generals and Bosses are much, much more stronger and more of the bigger threats. So I have no fucks about him being defeated. Though him beating Dorothy off screen was a major fumble. 3. Lucifero repeated stated that Devils are the superior beings, and have no need to use Grimoires. So him not using one made sense. Megicula barely used her Grimoire and Zagred only used his because he just felt like it. Lucifero, being the prideful Devil that he is, wouldn't stoop the level of "humans". Most of these stem from people not paying attention or not being happy with the stuff THEY wantedto see. Not every story, no matter how similar it is to 100 other stories, are ever going to be the same.
You’re confusing making sense with good writing. Nope, it was Tabata’s fault for building up Morris hype. And it was not a small part of the fanbase that thought he was going to be the final villain of Spade.
Just because everything made sense doesn't mean it wasn't bad writing. Tabata built up hype for Morris and no it wasn't a "small" portion of the fanbase that thought he was going to be the big bad. It was a very big chunk who thought Morris was going to be the final villain and all that hype ended with him being beaten in 1 chapter with relative ease.
Agree with everything However I feel like just because some things make sense from a writing standpoint doesn’t mean they can feel earned in the story I would have just killed off a couple of characters to keep the stakes high for the readers since it was an Action full arc but reading it weekly (and with Tabata healt being bad) made the journey feel much slower That’s my only complaint really

I loved chapter 331. I think it is on of the best chapters coming from a shonen jump series and I always found Tabata to be really underrated regarding his foreshadowing. Also the plotpoints about Yuno having two souls in his body was so well foreshadowed that it's almost criminally overlooked in the shonen community. Black Clover deserves so much more praise outside of its bubble. I hope the return of the anime will change that.
Chapter 331 one was good but everything after is pretty bad.Brainwashing the people to turn them evil feels exactly like what we had with the elves but a bad version of that. Then the same thing got expanded to dead people and it's basically edotensei. Asta sharing demon mode feels like naruto sharing kurmas chakra and right now I'm just wating for asta getting ahuge demon form like with kurama. It's just lame. We have one new character for the antagonists side and that's it. The rest is probably old characters we know brought back to live or turned evil

I still remember that chapter like it was yesterday. The people going crazy about that Plot twist. And even if it doesnt single handedly make BC a 10 outta 10 it does make The Spade Raid Arc the Best arc hands down. Also i remember seeing ur Theory and many people shitting on it and while i get why they wouldn't want it to be true back then i wanted it to be true because as much as i Loved Julius BC needed a Big Bad. The magnum opus when it comes to antagonists in BC and if anyone that kinda potential it was Julius (or Lucius ig).
The twist in Black Clover is a better twist than Aizen in Bleach because we never got to know the guy as opposed to how much Wizard King time we got in Black Clover.

Hey you pretty much hit the nail on the many issues of the Spade Arc but also Black Clover as a whole. The world building in Black Clover feels almost completely empty or non-existent especially they haven't given a one full arc or exploration on the Diamond Kingdom or the characters in it. They don't even explore the devils or their origins or just how they even came to be or the magic in the BC world. They don't explore the side or supporting characters deeply themselves or go in-depth in their personality or mindset. I think Black Clover doesn't try to go too deep in its world or its lore, mostly because of Black Clover manga's fast pacing and go through everything in the story a mile a minute which becomes a detriment to the series narrative wise.
Hell yeah dude this chapter revived the excitement i had for the series, great video. Also i think part of the Mimosa problem is not only the lack of at least a single death (it could have been Rill tbh even if he hadn´t gotten to make his masterpiece as it would have made it more tragic overall) but it was the wording used by Noelle when she says something like "with magic we can do anything" or something like that wich pretty much kills any anticipation regarding the fate of those 3 characters

I get he was the scapegoat for the real threat but still wish there was something more to Lucifero. After megicula’s acknowledgment of humans and Lucifero admitting they were dangerous, I really expected a more dignified end for the king of devils. It didn’t have to be something deep but would’ve been cool to see at least one supreme devil think differently of humans
I can just imagine I constant clock ticking for the entire episode and multiple clock tower/time imagery throughout without any other sound except voices and there would be no opening and ending

Asta was good untill forest of witches arc after tabata made him Dumber Weaker And lack’s resolve or even will to fight He makes asta only relevant to the plot by making most enemies invincible to every thing but anti magic For the 2nd half asta dosent even feel like the mc anymore and on top of that how can he be the wk but is unable to beat any major enemies without the help of 20 ppl he goes from the hero the the character that needs to constantly be saved

Julius/Lucius being Astaroth’s host was also hinted at before Asta’s trial. Damnatio detected the mana of a devil within the kingdom, but apprehended Asta despite Liebe NOT having any mana at all. Dude definitely should’ve done a background check WELL before this point.
I like Black Clover as a series and I am actually happy that u mention that "we have our very own aizen" but the only problem that I have with that is that I hope he is not defeated so easlly or out of pocket random magic like the fight with Lucifer and Asta he was extremely ingered to the point were I was worried that Asta was not going to come out alive because of those engerys but I also feel like Lucifers entrence was wasted he was strong don't get me wrong but I feel like he had more potential to give out I am disappointed at the fact that only half of his power was manifested and I feel like the auhtor had more potential for Lucifer but know that we have a villan like Aizan present in Black clover we have to see were the series goes from here and what are his plans for Lucia's I hope it does not end to quick cause black clover has introduced villans and all but we need a villan in the series that is like Azian I know I am comparing two different animes but I feel like we do need a better villan but how things are looking is find in my opinion we would just have to see were the aughtor takes his series from here. I've been re-reading the manga over the past week. I'm on volume 7 right now and I can see that Tabata really was cooking a plot twist. Huh. Weird I never noticed.
Watching this makes me feel as if i was the only person who enjoyed the spade kingdom, i agree with there being to many people alive but i honestly wasen't all that hype for morris and seeing it as him fulfilling his duty. Everyone vs lucifero was still incredible to read despite lucifero being a fraud and feel like this chapter only adds to the hype i have been feeling this entire arc.

Lucifero could be done like: "You humans are too insignificant for the supreme's unsurmountable power, I a mid rank devil earned the honour of a portion of his heart and hence a small fraction of his power, yet you seem like maggots, I won't even need more than 50 percent" That way, both lucifero could be saved, and with little tweaks It'd also make lucious a far more terrifying and powerful villain
when i first read/watched black clover, julius always came off as weird in how he acted, in an almost sociopathic way, a good example is when he killed the mages to save asta, he was like "ooops they died, oh well, im gonna let one live and you get too choose who", like i know they were his enemies but it was almost like he was having fun toying with their lives. also, on a side note, i usually saw his seiyuu, morikawa toshiyuki, typecasted inyo characters who play the good guy farce only to stab you in the back, such as ashiya douman (fate series), shagia frost (gundam x), naraku (inuyasha), etc, wich also made me even more suspicious of him lol.
Bro even after this plot twist the lack of high stakes in the final battel(the battel against the counter part of julius novachrono) really messed up the story again. By high stakes i mean the lack of death because when the magic knights were on the verg of death the story always introduced a ass pull that defied the plot its self eg. the asta demon sharing power up .
8 deaths were set up during the saga, 2 from the very midpoint of it, and STILL no one died LMAO. Even if people jumped back from that single episode, the damage was already done and everyone left midway of the next arc as they had enough
I think Morris got his retribution in the final arc . Paladin Morris vs 100% Mareleona , bruh that was an awesome fight . Really elevated Morris as a villain in my eyes

I think Lucifero embodied what it means to be the King, he can always plot again bcus he can reincarnate into any main devil and if he a devil doesn’t submit and goes back to the underworld he would torture them, any win for a devil is a win for Lucifero and I think Tabata understands the long lived aspect and esoteric meaning to a personality who doesn’t experience death

So far I have been a anime only viewer and remember seeing the leaks of Lucius. In a way, I could care less about spoilers since it’s been so long since I finished the anime, making the hype die down for me. After watching this video, I can’t wait for the anime to catch up. Considering the flaws in the Spade arc you mentioned, maybe there is a chance the mangaka can make decisions in the anime to make changes similar to how Tite Kubo is with Bleach TYBW.
I’m really hoping Tabata can do that. TYBW is the perfect comparison. The death fake outs are Probably too engrained in the narrative to change. But he can at least improve those scenes. And the story can still pretty much be the same while also making Morris and Lucifero much better villains.

It's good plot twist but watch Yuki tabata fuck it up. Literally none of the villians in black clover were good at all they were all disapointing. Black Clover has the potential to be a top tier shonen but it lacks heavily in the villian department. Calling Lucius the next Aizen is tall praise for some who we haven't do much yet.

Shit was super hype and mindblowing because it comes full circle, at that time I legit thought "Daaaang Tabata, you legit pulled out an Oda twist" lmao. I don't think many people realize that Tabata has been slow cooking this narrative since the first chapter. Personally, I think he's underrated in his storytelling ability.

What I like about this a lot is that Julius' first battle in the story made him appear like a villain, too.
The members of the Midnight Sun returned to their base with a kidnapped Asta and Julius appeared out of nowhere, which made a lot of people (including me) think he was in on it with them and betraying the Clover Kingdom, even if just for a moment.
Its true even just his look sometimes I felt like he was in on something that the wizard king shouldn't have been doing. The way he blocked off communication as well to sneak off and look around the kingdom now makes it seem like it was part of it. Like both Yami and Vangeance were shown to have been recruited by Julius. And I think they are the only ones, I don't think that it is a coincidence either. So many more things make more sense and other things seem to go deeper. The reveal is definitely amazing.
Fr i was doubting him the whole time, but the fight vs Patry changed my mind. Amazing how one fight changed my opinion on Julius and i never thought he could have been an ultimate villain anymore.
Yeah these moment seem great once you look back on them but its a hallow journey leading up to them. Makes you wonder but beyond it can be done better

I love the Spade Saga. Every arc has flaws so this one does. My only real issue is Morris. Thats it. And the fights oh my god the fights. Asta vs the twins Noelle vs Vanica Dant vs freaking MAGNA. The fights were peak shonen

The spade arc was definitely great. Tabata should’ve stopped with the devils right after that though. He could’ve kept Lucius as an Angel or something other than devil just to keep the story fresh.

One thing I wish you had brought up was how there was just enough plausibility that Julius wasn't affiliated with the time devil due to the existence of Spatial Magic users. But that the give away was that Julius was the only Time Mage recorded. That was fantastic writing on Tabata's part and I don't think it's brought up enough. Great video.

All of the Qliphoth devils correlate with devils in mythology, down the name. The Qlipoth is a "real" thing, people just cross referenced. Lucifero and Beezlebub are at the bottom, they rule Gravity and Space. Astaroth would've been fourth. Combined with Megicula presenting herself as the same range as Lucifero and Beezlebub, it wasn't a hard guess. It was either Astaroth or Belial. And given Astaroth's name, it was most likely him.

Well, if Lucifero had won thousands of times already simply using his gravity presence and brute force alone at another timelines but that's changed and make it never happened because Astaroth's time manipulation, I think it's pretty understandable for Lucifero to not use any spell. "Of course I'd win this easily (I already did thousands of times already), why would use any spell if I can win by simply punching them" or something along those lines. I'd be confused as hell too if something like that happens. In the end, Lucius know Lucifero is cocky af and that ultimately bring him to his demise. Being the ultimate strong makes him not using his "battle IQ" fully. With changing to Jump Giga, Tabata sensei have more prep time and I faithfully believe that he will deliver peak.

When I first watched Black Clover, I had a feeling something was off about Julius. I couldn't describe what, but he just gave off villain vibes. He has a magic attribute that I associate with what powers a villain would have. Reading chapter 331 made it make more sense, even though as the series went on, my suspicions went away about Julius til 331.

From a narrative standpoint it was a genius move by Tabata to introduce us to Lucius Zogratis.
Instead of introducing a completely new character to be the final antagonist he used a already established character Julius and opened a new facette on him.
That way he avoided a Kaguya Otsotuki situation. It's the other way around.
Aizen is for years regarded as one of the best Shonen villains.
I wouldn't compare them by any means.
Nobody has ever heard of Lucius Zogratis. It's Julius design with inverted colors.
Maybe an anime adaptation can deliver a menacing and unique demeanor to Lucius one day.

Ever since the purple orca captain betrayed the capital i started speculating against Julius. Because Willium being "licht" patri was so obvious to me. When i want back and saw purple orca, willium, and Julius all with a black background in op2 it just gave me such an odd feeling. Then the chapter dropped showing the tree of qlithoth needing Yami and Willium, and around that SAME TIME my best friend pointed out how Zenon and Julius lowkey look similar. Everything clicked for me then and there. Told best bro, he was on board with the theory. Over time we just started connecting more and more dots i even posted on twitter my theory about a year before the reveal. The night chapter 331 dropped i couldnt be happier cause all my other friends were calling us mad men "Julius could never be evil" they said😂

I never got the issue with Morris. He was a scientist. Even with broken powers, he went up against broken characters with combat experience. Could he have put up a slightly longer fight yes, but I had no issue with him. His only feats prior to his Spade reintroduction was he did Mars, Fana and Ladros's various enhancement surgeries and ruling Diamond from the shadows(with the Diamond king being an older and sick figure).
That one chapter exposed the real me.

For the 3 "L's" that appeared, all of them are explained logically.
1. Gaja not dying made sense for multiple reasons.
1st. Rill's Twilight Valhalla spell was still being kept active and literally prevents death. Gaja "died" while the spell was still being effective, but since he couldn't die until the effects we're over, he was still able to hold to "life".
2nd. Mimosa came after the fight, and Rill was not unconscious. Sure, he may have been weakened and running low on Magic, but was still trying to make sure he didn't pass out. Then comes Mimosa to heal Gaja (which was always foreshadowed but dumbasses don't know what "paying attention" if you explained to them what 2+2 is), and since Gaja was still "alive", he could be saved.
2. Morris not being a "true villian" wqs just some hype build up by a small portion of the fanbase. Him being "fumbled" was the equivalent of expexting an Elite Rank villan being top dog, when their Generals and Bosses are much, much more stronger and more of the bigger threats. So I have no fucks about him being defeated. Though him beating Dorothy off screen was a major fumble.
3. Lucifero repeated stated that Devils are the superior beings, and have no need to use Grimoires. So him not using one made sense. Megicula barely used her Grimoire and Zagred only used his because he just felt like it. Lucifero, being the prideful Devil that he is, wouldn't stoop the level of "humans".
Most of these stem from people not paying attention or not being happy with the stuff THEY wantedto see. Not every story, no matter how similar it is to 100 other stories, are ever going to be the same.
You’re confusing making sense with good writing. Nope, it was Tabata’s fault for building up Morris hype. And it was not a small part of the fanbase that thought he was going to be the final villain of Spade.
Just because everything made sense doesn't mean it wasn't bad writing. Tabata built up hype for Morris and no it wasn't a "small" portion of the fanbase that thought he was going to be the big bad. It was a very big chunk who thought Morris was going to be the final villain and all that hype ended with him being beaten in 1 chapter with relative ease.

I would have just killed off a couple of characters to keep the stakes high for the readers since it was an Action full arc but reading it weekly (and with Tabata healt being bad) made the journey feel much slower

I loved chapter 331. I think it is on of the best chapters coming from a shonen jump series and I always found Tabata to be really underrated regarding his foreshadowing. Also the plotpoints about Yuno having two souls in his body was so well foreshadowed that it's almost criminally overlooked in the shonen community. Black Clover deserves so much more praise outside of its bubble. I hope the return of the anime will change that.

Chapter 331 one was good but everything after is pretty bad.Brainwashing the people to turn them evil feels exactly like what we had with the elves but a bad version of that. Then the same thing got expanded to dead people and it's basically edotensei. Asta sharing demon mode feels like naruto sharing kurmas chakra and right now I'm just wating for asta getting ahuge demon form like with kurama. It's just lame. We have one new character for the antagonists side and that's it. The rest is probably old characters we know brought back to live or turned evil

The twist in Black Clover is a better twist than Aizen in Bleach because we never got to know the guy as opposed to how much Wizard King time we got in Black Clover.

Hey you pretty much hit the nail on the many issues of the Spade Arc but also Black Clover as a whole. The world building in Black Clover feels almost completely empty or non-existent especially they haven't given a one full arc or exploration on the Diamond Kingdom or the characters in it. They don't even explore the devils or their origins or just how they even came to be or the magic in the BC world. They don't explore the side or supporting characters deeply themselves or go in-depth in their personality or mindset. I think Black Clover doesn't try to go too deep in its world or its lore, mostly because of Black Clover manga's fast pacing and go through everything in the story a mile a minute which becomes a detriment to the series narrative wise.
Hell yeah dude this chapter revived the excitement i had for the series, great video.
Also i think part of the Mimosa problem is not only the lack of at least a single death (it could have been Rill tbh even if he hadn´t gotten to make his masterpiece as it would have made it more tragic overall) but it was the wording used by Noelle when she says something like "with magic we can do anything" or something like that wich pretty much kills any anticipation regarding the fate of those 3 characters

Julius/Lucius being Astaroth’s host was also hinted at before Asta’s trial. Damnatio detected the mana of a devil within the kingdom, but apprehended Asta despite Liebe NOT having any mana at all. Dude definitely should’ve done a background check WELL before this point.
I like Black Clover as a series and I am actually happy that u mention that "we have our very own aizen" but the only problem that I have with that is that I hope he is not defeated so easlly or out of pocket random magic like the fight with Lucifer and Asta he was extremely ingered to the point were I was worried that Asta was not going to come out alive because of those engerys but I also feel like Lucifers entrence was wasted he was strong don't get me wrong but I feel like he had more potential to give out I am disappointed at the fact that only half of his power was manifested and I feel like the auhtor had more potential for Lucifer but know that we have a villan like Aizan present in Black clover we have to see were the series goes from here and what are his plans for Lucia's I hope it does not end to quick cause black clover has introduced villans and all but we need a villan in the series that is like Azian I know I am comparing two different animes but I feel like we do need a better villan but how things are looking is find in my opinion we would just have to see were the aughtor takes his series from here. Watching this makes me feel as if i was the only person who enjoyed the spade kingdom, i agree with there being to many people alive but i honestly wasen't all that hype for morris and seeing it as him fulfilling his duty. Everyone vs lucifero was still incredible to read despite lucifero being a fraud and feel like this chapter only adds to the hype i have been feeling this entire arc.

when i first read/watched black clover, julius always came off as weird in how he acted, in an almost sociopathic way, a good example is when he killed the mages to save asta, he was like "ooops they died, oh well, im gonna let one live and you get too choose who", like i know they were his enemies but it was almost like he was having fun toying with their lives.
also, on a side note, i usually saw his seiyuu, morikawa toshiyuki, typecasted inyo characters who play the good guy farce only to stab you in the back, such as ashiya douman (fate series), shagia frost (gundam x), naraku (inuyasha), etc, wich also made me even more suspicious of him lol.
Bro even after this plot twist the lack of high stakes in the final battel(the battel against the counter part of julius novachrono)
really messed up the story again. By high stakes i mean the lack of death because when the magic knights were on the verg of death the story always introduced a ass pull that defied the plot its self eg. the asta demon sharing power up .
8 deaths were set up during the saga, 2 from the very midpoint of it, and STILL no one died LMAO. Even if people jumped back from that single episode, the damage was already done and everyone left midway of the next arc as they had enough

I hope The anime does Do some changes and additions And a prolog before the time skip or in the Time skip Sidenote yuno Was is Done much better in the anime In a lot of people will actually like the reveal of his Star magic better

I think Lucifero embodied what it means to be the King, he can always plot again bcus he can reincarnate into any main devil and if he a devil doesn’t submit and goes back to the underworld he would torture them, any win for a devil is a win for Lucifero and I think Tabata understands the long lived aspect and esoteric meaning to a personality who doesn’t experience death

So far I have been a anime only viewer and remember seeing the leaks of Lucius. In a way, I could care less about spoilers since it’s been so long since I finished the anime, making the hype die down for me. After watching this video, I can’t wait for the anime to catch up. Considering the flaws in the Spade arc you mentioned, maybe there is a chance the mangaka can make decisions in the anime to make changes similar to how Tite Kubo is with Bleach TYBW.
I’m really hoping Tabata can do that. TYBW is the perfect comparison.
The death fake outs are Probably too engrained in the narrative to change. But he can at least improve those scenes. And the story can still pretty much be the same while also making Morris and Lucifero much better villains.

It's good plot twist but watch Yuki tabata fuck it up. Literally none of the villians in black clover were good at all they were all disapointing. Black Clover has the potential to be a top tier shonen but it lacks heavily in the villian department. Calling Lucius the next Aizen is tall praise for some who we haven't do much yet.

Shit was super hype and mindblowing because it comes full circle, at that time I legit thought "Daaaang Tabata, you legit pulled out an Oda twist" lmao. Twitter was on fire that day and every RUclips video about Julius' fight from years back got commented again by manga readers.
Also speaking of Lucius grimoire being a Four Leaf Spade version I wonder what Four Leaf version of a Heart and Diamond grimoire symbol look like Would it be like similar to the Spade by having two Kingdom's Symbol together but unlike the Spade which is on top of each other maybe the other Kingdom symbols would face the same direction the kingdom are located on the map Tabata once drew of the Four Kindoms?
