Psalm 47 - Praising the King of All the Earth

- Psalm 47 is a wonderful psalm celebrating a great victory of a great King. Perhaps it was occasioned by the victory of a king such as Jehoshaphat (as in 2 Chronicles 20:15-23), but there is no doubt that it prophetically has in mind the ascension of the Messiah to His throne and celebrates His reign over the whole earth.

Thankful for your gift of teaching of this psalm the Holy Spirit gave me today. Thank you Jesus. My King😢 All Glory to the one Enthroned in Heaven in the Praises of Israel.
King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Have you ever heard of Calvary church with skip heitzig, I've been watching it on RUclips! All I know about Skip is he's on Sumatrans Purse's board!
What does it mean, as you said, "the reasons for His love are in Him, there not in the ones whom He loves"? (at point 17:50 ish)
Hi Sue,
The idea is this. God certainly does love humanity, but the reasons for his loving humanity are his reasons, and not what we might think. We might think that he loves us because of this or that, but the motivations for God's love for us are HIS reasons, and not what we might think his reason should be.
We are by nature sinners, but he chooses to love us anyway.
So the reasons for his love for mankind aren't because we are so lovable, but because he is so loving.
Hope this helps.
