This game is so memorable because of the music. Yes, it was a good shooter, but that soundtrack was fantastic. I love the third sons at 10:00 minutes in
All versions of Turrican are awesome - one of the best platform franchises ever - if you like this game style you can't go wrong with any Turrican title really...
Omg, this is like Megaman, Metroid, Cybernator and Contra mixed together. The different guns, abilities, power ups and secret portals to bonuses. I love this!
@NALTO Chris’ music for Mega Turrican is so out of this world… Makes an already amazing run and gun feel even better. My absolute favorite track is the one for the final level, really feels like a dire song, yet so pretty.
I just recently played this game for the first time. Amazing game, right up my ally. Wish I would have found out about this many years ago. The soundtrack is amazing, hats off to the composer.
dude yes!! some Epic key sound tracks..first game to do "dolby surround" wow this bring back fascinations as a kid ..hence why i drawn to produce sound as a hobby etc...
Actually King Arthur's World had the Dolby Surround before Super Turrican. Don't know if it was the first, though. (Thinking of it, Starfox probably had it before Super Turrican too.)
If you guys want to have more fun with Super Turrican, there are already Retroachievements created for it recently. You can have more fun collecting all lives and finding all secrets - this awesome video helps you a lot, but the journey will not be easy anyway!
It’s not as good as the Amiga _Turrican_ games, but it is still above average for its time. The music is by one of the best game-music composers ever: a German man named Chris Hülsbeck.
Super and Mega Turrican are the two extraordinary games I've ever played the Gameplay is awesome the soundtrack is Awesome and the game is not as challenging than I thought it was when I first played it. I just brought Turrican Flashback for the Nintendo Switch.
The levels are different from the MegaDrive version. The levels in that one are like in factory and you get a underwater level around the third stage. The Snes version you are Castlevania like, not that it's a bad thing and you get a freeze beam instead of the lightning whip.
I love how the map layouts is completely different from both systems and some of power ups are different too and I have have yet to play the SNES version
Damnit,on its day my cousin rented it and bring it to my home but i didnt knew appreciate this game due to being absorved by earthworm jim 2 The 90's i miss you
I wonder if there'll ever be an official turrican timeline...i'd say this game would take place between turrican 2 and mega turrican, with this game being about one of the machine's lesser plans (rather than getting involved himself, this time he sends an alien faction of his army to terrorize a planet.)
Un abrazo, James, "The NIX"
Noticed this as a kid, I mean, no one else questioned why a xenomorph was the final boss never seeing the main villian I was confused as hell with no answers. Thanks for clarifying 👍👍
Too bad, the game was uncomplete on the SNES and so you never fight the final boss (machine) and it ends directly after the alien level. The Xmas levels were also out of place for a Turrican game and the Level design was pretty confusing sometimes. The full Versions are Turrican 3 on Amiga and Mega Turrican. But it´s nice to see the kinda weird Version on SNES, wich has also the best quality soundtrack, next to the Amiga Version.
Turrican is still one of the best run n gun - games ever .=D its really a shame that they didnt make new sequels of this awesome franchise . =( the music is awesome ,the action is solid & fluid in once and the graphics was awesome at the time .=) i hope someone make a new sequel which looks awesome like the original series and have this cool music too . ^^ but the problem is : which publisher and developer should make a new sequel and which is the best for such a game ? =/
I wonder why they didn't bother doing line scrolling in the background layer of the first level to give a bit more of a parallax effect. They literally use the same background on the next level and do the line scrolling, so it makes no sense to leave it out on the first section.
Great game, I just wished there was better screen scrolling. I hate how I have to get so close to the edge of the screen before it scrolls. I wonder why they chose to do it this way?
At the end, I was almost expecting an escape sequence like the Metroid games would've provided. The final boss battle doesn't feel very final, could've been made better with some alien screeches as it takes damage and attacks, plus possibly a different theme/cutscene from the other bosses upon defeat.
52:47 esse jogo é muito incompleto , nele o chefe final é a Mother alien, mais o verdadeiro chefe deveria ser machine. Assim como ele aparece em mega turrican
A fun fact: This game was originally supposed to be longer, but halfway through development Nintendo forced Factor 5 to work with smaller cartridges than was originally intended.
This game has amazing music.
Así es
Sega genesis is better in this game

16:52 best tracks in 3rd stage(s). LOVE THAT PERCUSSION! is that an LP blast block?😆
Super and Mega Turrican all have great music.
Both of them have some of the best percussion I have ever heard on the systems they were on.
Well said my friend. Well said. =)
the power of Chris Hülsbeck
Sega genesis had superior sound
This game was part of my childhood, I found it now again, amazing

10:05 I feel like this song could literally be some kind of 80s new wave or synthpop song if it had lyrics/vocals.
I actually put words to this song when I was younger. Wish I could remember it 😆
One of my (many) all-time favorite games!
I love how you can squash enemies like Mario instead of taking damage in contact with an enemy.
I love how they scream in pain, run off, and die when you do.
I love the music in this game. Wow very deep for a SNES game.
Omg, this is like Megaman, Metroid, Cybernator and Contra mixed together. The different guns, abilities, power ups and secret portals to bonuses. I love this!
31:00 ice level has the greatest video game music of all time, because of the badass little bells!
I had always wondered what happened when he found all the lives and crystals...thanks!
My first and only cartridge I had for SNES this game rocks!
I played other games, but I only had one cartridge myself, the others were my brother's, and we used to rent too. ^^

Same situation hear. Except I had Plok for SNES and Faxanadu for NES. Amazing games too.

Victor O Fenomeno das Teclas e...

LOVED this game when I was a kid. Remember enjoying the music very much while playing
The soundtrack is insanely catchy. old school in its very raw nature. Amazing.
The brilliant Chris Hülsbeck. :)
Amazing soundtrack. That's the power of snes.

The frustration this game caused me was ridiculous...and damn the OST was so good.

Difficult, but very good platform-shooter for SNES.
difficult to get further or difficult to play?
@@jasonlee7816 to get further. Its a hard gme for me. IAlso i love Amiga version.
An underrated gem!!!
This was considered an AMAZING PERFECT GAME when it came out back in da days! Oldskool game and i had the mag with all secret codes and tricks!
I just recently played this game for the first time. Amazing game, right up my ally. Wish I would have found out about this many years ago. The soundtrack is amazing, hats off to the composer.
The composer would be Chris Hülsbeck. He scored quite a few games back then, with my favourite music of his being in the Amiga game _Apidya_.
epic music

Robot Romp - Alan Silvestri - Flight of the Navigator.
I think this is the first videogame in history with surround support, and it really shows!
Um dos melhores jogos que já joguei. A trilha sonora é sensacional!
Awesome game. Played a lot! Music is CD quality!
my first Turrican game i played was on c64 i remember it played it to death :D
Me and my buddies used stay up all night and play this game. My freind Amelia was so good at playing this game.
Chris Hülsbeck was a pure Genius and Mastermind!

I grew up playing this game. It was my favorite shooter.
Probably the BEST shooter game on the SNES. This is even better than Contra. Truly a hidden gem.
Super Turrican 2 is best.
better than the overrated, cartoonish, childish, oriental-ish Metroid
I use to love this game when I was a kid!
underated game! one of the best games I've played!
Giocato molto bene, questo gioco entra nella mia top ten tra i miei giochi leggendari sul supernes, console mitica. capolavoro!
OMG I love this game, so much good memories
Excited to play through these games on my switch, they all look so perfect like a cross between Metroid and Contra
I remember playing this after school back in the 90s! It was fucking awesome!
Take me back to these times in life.
The love child of Metroid, Metal Slug, & Contra...with a dash of Alien
i am looking for this game for 6 years! i didnt know the name off. finaly i find!!!
My favorite games to play on SNES were super turrican, wolf child, and demons Crest.

OMG!! I was looking for this game. I only remember it because of the music. I would stop playing just to hear the music, especially the second board.
Why did I never play this?
Because you have seen the Genesis version maybe? :D
Anyways - Turrican rocks!

wohooo ! maybe the best shooter on the snes ! LOVE this game !
