For an F1 student, when uploading the I-20 form on the AVITS website, do I need to sign it before I do that or I only submit the signed copy from my school?.

I paid the visa fee, but when it came to book the appointment, there were no slot available and the website wasn't working (I couldn't go back or forward). So I had to refresh the page…, and now there are “0 appointments” in my dashboard, and even 0 appointment request in progress. And when I try to create a new appointment request, I get the error message “Duplicate applicant found for this user”. Can you please help me?

@pastoremenikegrantc6639 Unfortunately, I don't know how you can use your GTB receipt on this new portal because everything is different now. For instance, on the old portal, you need to input the MRV numbers on the portal after purchase, but on this new portal, once you pay for the visa, the system automatically does it

@tracymontoute6104 Yea, this is not normal as a lot of people are experiencing the same issues at this time. I suggest you try during midnight hours when there is less traffic and you have to use another email address as your 2 previous accounts may have been locked into the system

@TsanyaBi first your payment needs to be validated before you can proceed (this can take up to 5 days or more), and then once your payment is validated, you will be asked to answer some questions before you can select a date. Questions like if you've been issued a US visa within the last 24 months - these questions will make you eligible for the interview waiver

I found it so interesting, for one week after payment my dashboard has been showing pre approval processing and as a result of that can’t schedule an appointment.
@@josephemmanuel6665 no i haven’t, the process is mess, and they’re not providing swift solutions. To me I think visa fee showing pre approval processing. is a waste, cos been calling them is a waste of time and they won’t stop saying that applicant should wait for embassy without time frame. I think I give up on it.

@@jojoampiah1814 I'm not sure if you can get a date. Even if you do, you need to prove that you are legally resident in Nigeria before you can apply through the Lagos or Abuja Embassy
@Ijom4bestt You apply for Dropbox on this portal as well. However, during this process, you will be asked questions to determine your eligibility for the interview waiver. If you qualify, you will receive a “Dropbox Confirmation Letter”. Once you answer yes when asked if you've been issued visa within the last 2 years, then your eligibility is confirmed

I found it so frustrating as I made Payment on 6/11 and entered the Amentum number on the bank receipt but yet still it is showing pending applications. My brother i think the right category is immigrant visa...because it was on immigrant visa i founf K1 spouse VISA...and i clicked it sir and it allow my DS 160 form and i have paid for my visa in march and its not expire yet, so i input my MRV fee receipt number, and it was succefully, so moving to the next part to select date.... of which in the letter i received from US embassy lagos, they gave me instructions and my interview date... which 6th january,2025, so when i got to the next page to select date it only showing novemebr and there were no green date there...and its won't let me select the date they wrote to me themself....which is january 6th 2025, even december is not letting me select it... should i hold on sir?

@ogechinkiruka717 payment is made either at the bank or through bank transfer. For the bank transfer option, click on the url right column of your payment receipt and follow the details on your screen - you will get the bank account to transfer to at the last stage

Send a request ticket to the Support Team through the portal, attaching your MRV receipt (in jpeg format). In the message, state clearly that you have purchased the visa fee and unable to schedule your appointment afterwards. It could take between 2-3 working days for a response so be patient abit. Hope this helps you...
Thanks for the response to that person mine is that I have raise a ticket through the portal. They ask me to refresh or use a different browser which I have done but still the same. It's still showing pre-approval request is being processed for almost two weeks now.
Hello @visatalkswithkay I am currently using the portal to apply for the renewal of my F1 visa, and I have done everything and gotten to the stage were I got the pre approval approval request notification, but it’s no longer there. However I was told that I would get a “letter” is if qualified for an interview waiver. I want to know if the waiver letter comes on the portal or is sent to the email address used. Because I did see a pdf document tagged letter but when downloaded it says the file has no content and since then I don’t know how to move forward and what the next step is. Any help you can offer will be appreciated please.

@philipjunioryeboah24 You can only get a waiver if you meet the eligibility requirements eg. You need to have been issued a US visa within the last 24 months or so... so if you answer positively to the questions around previous visa issuance, the portal will automatically lead you into the waiver program
And will those questions be in the new Visa portal platform? I mean will you automatically see the questions when filling the forms or you would have to go somewhere else before you can see those questions. Thank you
After payment of the visa fee, I only have appointment slots from 24 January, 2025 for Abuja. But my client is to resume classes on 9th, please what might have been the reason for not getting appointment this year, cause you said appointment are available. It's a F1 visa application.

I am having trouble rescheduling for a 221g. I submitted my passport for visa renewal under the visa waiver program, and my visa was refused, requesting that I reschedule an interview. I have tried multiple times to do so but the website doesn't seem to have the reschedule option. I chatted with their support team and they still couldn't help me. Is there a way to reschedule a 221g interview on this website
It is possible, currently the AVITS portal is under maintenance so I'm guessing the system is being fixed for optimal performance. You can try afterwards

After that it came up and asked me to upload my form I-20 which I did but I uploaded it as it's given to me from my school. But I haven't signed my own part in the I-20 form. I just uploaded it... I am currently at this point.. I'm confused as to which one is the bank deposit reference number. Whether it's the number under the barcode, or any other number on the slip. I also paid at first bank, yesterday.

Not yet succeeded. Even raising a ticket is problematic. I finally went to the consulate to explain the issue. So was asked to keep insisting and reverting by mail to the consulate with all my difficulties. If by my interview date I have not still succeeded I should come along with the email showing my appointment. They also mention that they are fully aware of the glitches in the system.

@IjeomaKate007 Did you pay thru the bank? From my experience, it can take up to 3 working days for the portal to reflect your payment. You dont need to input any receipt number after payment as the system automatically changes to the page where you can book your dates. Since it has been up to 5 days since you've paid and nothing has changed, you can raise a ticket to the customer support team for help. You can reach me via withkayt@gmail.com

One week seems too long... I'd advise you contact the support team and create a ticket on the delay. Ensure you attach your visa receipt payment in jpeg format

To me I think visa fee showing pre approval processing. is a waste, cos been calling them is a waste of time and they won’t stop saying that applicant should wait for embassy without time frame. I think I give up on it.

@@jojoampiah1814 I'm not sure if you can get a date. Even if you do, you need to prove that you are legally resident in Nigeria before you can apply through the Lagos or Abuja Embassy

@Ijom4bestt You apply for Dropbox on this portal as well. However, during this process, you will be asked questions to determine your eligibility for the interview waiver. If you qualify, you will receive a “Dropbox Confirmation Letter”. Once you answer yes when asked if you've been issued visa within the last 2 years, then your eligibility is confirmed

I found it so frustrating as I made Payment on 6/11 and entered the Amentum number on the bank receipt but yet still it is showing pending applications. I had created a support ticket but it has been on hold since 11/11. I created another ticket again and they responded that they are working on it as they are already aware of my first ticket. @zizibelle2753 yes the US Embassy in Nigeria, and even most parts of Africa don't allow for group appointments on the new AVITS portal
There is no group appointment again, you have to do it one by one.

My brother i think the right category is immigrant visa...because it was on immigrant visa i founf K1 spouse VISA...and i clicked it sir and it allow my DS 160 form and i have paid for my visa in march and its not expire yet, so i input my MRV fee receipt number, and it was succefully, so moving to the next part to select date.... of which in the letter i received from US embassy lagos, they gave me instructions and my interview date... which 6th january,2025, so when i got to the next page to select date it only showing novemebr and there were no green date there...and its won't let me select the date they wrote to me themself....which is january 6th 2025, even december is not letting me select it... should i hold on sir?

@ogechinkiruka717 payment is made either at the bank or through bank transfer. For the bank transfer option, click on the url right column of your payment receipt and follow the details on your screen - you will get the bank account to transfer to at the last stage

Send a request ticket to the Support Team through the portal, attaching your MRV receipt (in jpeg format). In the message, state clearly that you have purchased the visa fee and unable to schedule your appointment afterwards. It could take between 2-3 working days for a response so be patient abit.

Thanks for the response to that person mine is that I have raise a ticket through the portal. They ask me to refresh or use a different browser which I have done but still the same. It's still showing pre-approval request is being processed for almost two weeks now.

Hello @visatalkswithkay I am currently using the portal to apply for the renewal of my F1 visa, and I have done everything and gotten to the stage were I got the pre approval approval request notification, but it’s no longer there. However I was told that I would get a “letter” is if qualified for an interview waiver. I want to know if the waiver letter comes on the portal or is sent to the email address used. Because I did see a pdf document tagged letter but when downloaded it says the file has no content and since then I don’t know how to move forward and what the next step is.
Any help you can offer will be appreciated please.

What if you want to waive the interview what will you do, you did not add that
@philipjunioryeboah24 You can only get a waiver if you meet the eligibility requirements eg. You need to have been issued a US visa within the last 24 months or so... so if you answer positively to the questions around previous visa issuance, the portal will automatically lead you into the waiver program
And will those questions be in the new Visa portal platform? I mean will you automatically see the questions when filling the forms or you would have to go somewhere else before you can see those questions. Thank you

After payment of the visa fee, I only have appointment slots from 24 January, 2025 for Abuja. But my client is to resume classes on 9th, please what might have been the reason for not getting appointment this year, cause you said appointment are available. It's a F1 visa application.

I am having trouble rescheduling for a 221g. I submitted my passport for visa renewal under the visa waiver program, and my visa was refused, requesting that I reschedule an interview. I have tried multiple times to do so but the website doesn't seem to have the reschedule option. I chatted with their support team and they still couldn't help me. Is there a way to reschedule a 221g interview on this website
It is possible, currently the AVITS portal is under maintenance so I'm guessing the system is being fixed for optimal performance. You can try afterwards

You are not the one to update your payment. The system does it automatically and then allows you to proceed to book your appointment
You have to keep checking with the support team cos if you relent, then it would be difficult after a long while

After that it came up and asked me to upload my form I-20 which I did but I uploaded it as it's given to me from my school. But I haven't signed my own part in the I-20 form. I just uploaded it... There's an instructions but I couldn't read it before uploading and submitting... Can you show me or tell me what the instructions could be. I tried tapping it but not coming through. Not yet succeeded. Even raising a ticket is problematic. I finally went to the consulate to explain the issue. So was asked to keep insisting and reverting by mail to the consulate with all my difficulties. If by my interview date I have not still succeeded I should come along with the email showing my appointment. They also mention that they are fully aware of the glitches in the system.

@IjeomaKate007 Did you pay thru the bank? From my experience, it can take up to 3 working days for the portal to reflect your payment. You dont need to input any receipt number after payment as the system automatically changes to the page where you can book your dates.
Since it has been up to 5 days since you've paid and nothing has changed, you can raise a ticket to the customer support team for help.

One week seems too long... I'd advise you contact the support team and create a ticket on the delay. Ensure you attach your visa receipt payment in jpeg format
@@VisaTalksWithKay i have done that, I created 11 tickets support, I contacted the support center. They told me my payment has been confirmed. That I should wait for notifications from embassy. Does that means I would have to pay another visa fee.
