    The adhesive usually sucks on those strip lights. Whenever I stick them onto whatever I'm doing. I clean it good using an aggressive cleaner like brake clean or carburetor cleaner. Something that evaporates fast. And every 8-10" I'll dab some clear silicone/adhesive and put the lights through that as well. It really helps. The other option is to install them a few days after a fresh paint job. So I'm waiting at this point until summer when I repaint my new boat interior before I install mine. Thanks for the video. Looks nice and bright for sure. Probably makes a big difference for night time fishing.

    Maybe you did, but you didn't say it that way, my boat has a three way switch, off, navigation, and anchor. I put all my led's in on the anchor side of the circuit, that way when I am running there are no inside lights to blind me in the dark. I didn't use the long light strips, but I did use strips, I used the kind for marker lights on the front of high end cars under the head lights, they are much brighter, and whiter, and gives you good light to see when tying knots and getting hooks out. I put one under the console, one just behind the opening in the front casting deck, and one normal led replacement bulb in the small light that was already built into the console on the side. I also switched mine with another three way switch, so I could have one or two or all three running. LED's will literally run for weeks off a deep cycle marine battery without running it down. I took both strips I got and hooked them up to a small riding lawn mower battery inside before installing them, and just hooked them up and let them run 24/7 as I wanted to make sure that they would not run my battery down too bad. After a week and a half of 24 hrs. I took them off and gave up lol. Still burning bright. Here in St. Louis and on the mighty Mississippi you don't want a dead battery,

      Marty Mac That was going to be our question. Battery life. You use a small lawn mower/tractor style battery you say? Have to try that out. Thanks for sharing!!

      Red is the best color for keeping bugs away.

    Does the blue color attract insects such as mosquitos and such? I am going to rig my boat up for night fishing and wonder about which color would least attract insects into the boat.

      @Catfishedge  7 лет назад

      +redneckradtech Yes. Red is the best IMO but puts off least light

    Great Video Chad , Me and my wife just bought a 2020 SeaArk Big Easy. We do quite a bit of running at night on the rivers here in Tennessee . I'm going to mount my headlights but if I go under they will get torn up and if I go on the deck I'll trip and go swimming . Do you have any suggestions on the best place to mount 2 (3 x 5) led headlights. Thanks for all you for the sport of Catfishin

    Those definitely look like UV LED blacklights. The Amazon link doesn't specify but I'd be surprised if they were not UV.
