Here is my new idea: you can use the characters unlocked in time trial mode to play the battle mode, that’s the last thing to do in this game 😊😊

for mario circuit, the actual shroom spot is the huge turn before the obvious shortcut, cut the sand while drifting. DK is... weird, the bounciness makes it bad for TTs, you want to avoid the ramps and wheelie to the right of them, very close to the wall while flying down, you are not taking the classic cut of jumping the gap, turn tight and brake to lose the miniturbo and just jump the gap from the top, the orange miniturbo you lost was probably from touching the top of the turn, likely considered a wall, the shroom spot is the end of the bridge, which is... backwards, nintendo screwed up, yeah, it shouldn't be bouncy at all if you go backwards, this track even has an insane wall-clipping shortcut on the first halfpipe, truly a mkwii marvel. The shroom spot in BC is after the stairs, as you were guessing, you can land on the rail at the end too to avoid the last turn, it is risky with the wii wheel if you wobble a bit when tricking tho. Solid TTs considering inside drift is MUCH better in these (gardens was on point btw, the maze route varies a bit depending on the kart/bike, flame runners go full right to build an extra miniturbo, spears in the middle barely avoiding the walls, automatic is even WR-valid for them as you can turn more in a wheelie without losing speed)
