The Ecosystem is a convenient way of mass-producing low-level larvae from which to extract Genetic Traits. It can produce all of the base wild larvae, plus almost all of the T1 Mutagen recipes except for the Liux for some reason. It's also the new best producer of Plants (almost 3× that of a T3 Tree Spreader). Drones don't play well with it too well though because you need to unlock the recipes before you can select the larvae.

You seem to have missed a few updates. The area on the map you thought was the toxic area is a new place and you will need explosives to access it as is another area in the SW. Some new wrecks (E, N & W edges of old map) who's entrances and some corridors need explosives to get through. Checkout the vehicle's rear for the orange button.

Had to skip ahead to watch this one! I wasn't really sure how they were planning on doing vehicles as it would only be viable in the beginning. On my game, most of the land is covered by trees so any vehicle is not going to be that useful. When I read the toxic cave I was thinking, oh they made a biome that required the vehicle. But doesn't look like that's what they did. And with how fast you progress, it just doesn't feel like it's worth it, other than for Science of course. The inventory might make it worth it but even why do something manually when the bots can do most everything. They did say they added some more lore items, that will be interesting to see. The explosives is another item you generally don't have to craft as they are found in abundance through the portals. There are many places you can use them in the regular map and the portal wrecks need them on the higher difficulty. Great video, thanks!
It's a fun gimmick could be good using it in multiplayer. And the extra storage is nice

Love this game I own it but not had the kit to play it since before 1.0 so I will be not watching this for "Spoilers" but good to see it back on here its a gem of a game.

The explosives are for a certain wall, leading to a new bioam.. you visited 2 of the 3 new ones I believe..
And all wrecks should have a new chest or two
