Nice review. I’ve been looking for something like this to tick the casual chronograph box in my modest collection. I think I like it a little more now.
I purchased this watch around four years ago now after seeing it online and was at a really good price at £99.99 via a dealer in Ireland. Orient watches that time were not sold here in the UK but do now online with Orient UK. Perhaps sometime in the future we will see them in shops. This watch is really beautiful but I agree with you that the very small date window is an issue being very hard to see. Another problem is with the hands in that they can be difficult to see in certain light. Apart from that it really is a very good watch. A week after purchasing this white version another Neo 70's watch also came on sale at the same price but in a green colour with gold coloured hands and indices which I prefer much more for its legibility in reading the time but the date window is still the issue being small and deepset into the dial. All in all I love both watches and I wear them often on the original bracelet they came on as the watches are very comfortable to wear.
Mine has really good alignment, just got mine today. Only thing is the chrono minute hand doesn't perfectly align at 60, looks like it's always off by half a minute, looks like yours have the same problem too. But at the very least the second hand align perfectly so I'm happy
Dumb question and I’m pretty new with this watch, but how do you set the time? Can’t seem to figure it out. Btw, great review. Appreciate the watch even more.
Great review man! Did you say you picked this up for $200 AUD? The cheapest I can see it now is $390 AUD on eBay so looks like prices have definitely gone up!
Beautiful timepiece. I have always liked Orient. Seiko used to be my go to watch but their quality control has taken a turn for the worst. Hopefully they will learn a thing or two from Orient.
I am confused, who now owns Orient, Seiko or Epson? I hope Seiko has no say so over Orient. I really like the brand for their quality and value for money. Seiko seems to have lost this concept.
***Man's watch on a lady's strap*** I just recv'd my Dan Henry 1964 and although it is a somewhat decent watch, it is small. The area exposed inside the lugs look not finished and is the hallmark of a cheaply made case. Then there's the strap! Appalling to the point I can't wear it without feeling I am wearing my wife's watch. The strap tappers too much to the point that it feels like a child's toy watch and looks very small. Not a great feeling wearing it on the wrist. Too expensive to ship back so...
To me it's useless the subdial that show if it's am or pm time i would have preferred to have a subdial with 1/10 seconds. And dots for minutes are misaligned
@@johnbr59, mindless twaddle. Look how many companies the Swatch Group owns. The real issue is, how much does the parent company get involved? Seiko has poor quality control while Orient excels in this area. Spin that.
No interest...sized for the Bling Market. Look at the minute chapters placed outside the hours...absolutely no reason for this except to blow up the dial/case size for Blingster appeal. The minute hand, as a result, is far too short for any rapid, accurate time reading...the primary purpose of a wrist watch! All fads end eventually and one day, the Big Watch Fad will end also. If this piece had a 36 mm case it would be serviceable and perfect.
Hell yeah I've been looking for a review of this watch. Thanks!
Cheers mate, hope you enjoyed and it was helpful! So when is the new watch arrival ;)
@@lecocktailtime I'm on the lookout for my tax refund check, so arrival will coincidentally be a few days after that! haha
Awesome mate haha wear it in good health!
Same to you brother!
Been following you on IG for a while - love your collection. You've inspired me to try to hunt down one of these bad boys!
Still on Amazon.
That brown leather looks soooo good on that beautiful chronograph.

I think that the combination between this watch and a brown leather strap is just amazing!! Can you please tell me the size of the strap?
Thanks mate! The lug width is 22mm!

@Ankit Blanket greetings from Chile. I think this size watch suits your wrist nicely. I'm curious; what is your wrist size?

How much and where can I get it? I dint know why I can’t find it anywhere

Pull out the crown two clicks. Here you go.
Wish Orient would make this exact same watch at 45mm. A black leather strap with white stitching looks great on it.

Shame it’s a quartz :(
Nothing wrong with quartz
Good that is more affordable with quartz than mechanical or automatic movements $$$
