Yo, the first CD I EVER purchased with my birthday money was the Chupacabra album back in 1997 when I was fucking 7 years old! I remember seeing Imani on MTV and being completely enamored and obsessed with her and wouldn’t shut up until my parents took me to Sam Goody to buy the album lol. 22 years later nothing has changed.. I’m still as in love with Imani’s music as I was when I first heard her and saw her on tv. I love that she’s remained a TRUE artist in a world where you can literally spend 3.5 seconds throwing together a half-assed “song” on Garage Band and become the biggest pop star in the world. She’s so talented and you can feel that she puts her heart and soul in to her music and that’s why she’ll forever be my favorite artist. Hands down.
