I'm a ex Nikon shooter now I use a A7R5. The two things that made me move were the AF (now nearly solved) and no video backup (not solved).
I thought I'd made a mistake for the first month or so, as I had to unlearn years of Nikon muscle memory, but now I'm happy I moved. Nikon just keep doing strange little things to the cameras that work against them.
The only thing I think I miss is Nikon's flat profile in 1080, I think it was very convenient for SM production

Yeah I can understand that. I was extremely close to switching to Sony. The zf kept me with Nikon because I didn't want to take a loss on my lenses and existing bodies. The lack of video backup is something I always found strange and don't hear it brought up much. At this point, I could probably be happy with Nikon, Canon, Sony, or lumix, but a few years ago I wished I was on a Sony set up for sure.

All I wanted out of a Z6III was a Zf in the Z6II body.... The (partially) stacked sensor and awesome video functions will definitely attract new users... but for primarily stills shooters like myself, I want the higher DR that the BSI affords.
I'll probably end up with the Zf now, as I can't stand the Z6II's AF.

Man that's very similar to how I feel. I really like the z6ii but the af is something to work around.

I'm also sticking with the older Z6 as my walkaround camera. I have two of those, bought them used for about 600,- Euros each. I just want the same Z6/II body, the same sensor as the Zf/Z6/II, internal 4K10bit log and a faster AF. I specifically don't like the flip out display, I don't want the additional weight and size of the Z6III and I will absolutely not pay 3000,- Euro for it. Here is hoping for the next Z5, I guess.

I think you should get the Z6iii.. ergonomics of Zf is so bad.. I couldn’t even use it for a few minutes with a normal zoom lens.. that is with the smallrig grip as well.. i understand z6iii is expensive compared to z6ii but for me it was an investment for the next 6-10 years.. having 6k and stacked sensor will avoid the FOMO even when the Z6iv might come out.. z6ii was frustrating in many aspects.. autofocus and video wise compared to other brands.. i was almost about to move to sony or canon.. z6iii will keep most of Nikon users within Nikon..

Don't get me wrong, it's tempting. I'm genuinely happy with zf though. More than I'm unhappy with ergonomics, I'm not a massive fan of how they arranged the battery and card slots.

Photons to photos just added the Z6iii to their charts and the ZF and Z6ii have over a 1 stop advantage in DR at low ISOs. In fact the Z6iii is marginally worse than the G9ii MFT camera at base ISO.

That's really interesting, I was wondering if that new sensor would have any negative impact compared to a basic 24 mp sensor. I'll have to check that out!

Looking at the fashion shoot you’ve posted on RUclips tells me that you have a lot to learn about photography. Letting direct overhead sun create a hotspot on your model’s forehead while burying her face in hard shadow is poor technique to say the least. Keep learning. And one day when you’re really busy you’ll understand how valuable it is to quickly offload terabytes of data via CFExpress B. Not to mention that CFExpress has actually become cheaper than SD above 128GB. But you’re not there yet. Best of luck with your photography career. And if you ever get serious about video, having the flexibility of RAW can save takes or whole sequences when for instance the white balance changes (clouds move in, location changes) but in those moments you’re too busy to notice and don’t adjust the camera. It happens. Eventually you’ll learn why many of us see the huge advantages present in the Z6III.

I don't think you understood, I said cfexpress was a feature I do like. You're trying to be condescending more than you are trying to be helpful, but thanks for watching nonetheless.
