Playoff Chiefs are hard to figure out this year because it really did look like the Chiefs were just playing games to figure out what worked for most of the season. Their game against the Steelers looked like the first game they'd played in a long time where they were playing the style of football they'll play in the playoffs
It’s weird Mahomes stopped doing the long drop back in 2022 but started doing again recently. I think it’s a comfort thing with him. I think it’s a bad habit he gets into when he doesn’t trust his pass protection. Fair considering Wanya morris was such a disaster most of the season.
It’s futile looking at regular season film on the chiefs Andy Reid basically be just trying different things each game to test out their strengths then playoff time comes and you don’t know what he had stored up
They also run a lot of plays that are just setups for post season plays. Get teams looking one way because that's the way they always run it, but it's a setup for something different.
14:56 that’s not true coming into the season the chiefs wanted to air it out more with rashee rice in year two doing the intermediate slants deep digs worthy the deep ball and Hollywood the go routes the 20yard throws etc etc Hollywood got hurt in preseason rashee got injured week 4 Pacheco week 2 and worthy wasn’t ready for a big role just yet so they had to change there offense and the lt couldn’t protect but since they got thuney at lt and Hollywood came back week 16 and 17 were there two best games of the season bar week 1 and 2 when they had rashee rice
Another thing that gets overlooked in these videos is the Chiefs won by 8 but at the end they could have scored another TD at the end. Kareem Hunt gave himself up at the 10 yard line to run out the clock with two minutes left. So yeah, the Chiefs won by 8 but Hunt could have just run it in to make the margin 15
There was a touchdown that the Texans had that was overturned. It was a scoop and score but it got ruled as a fumble recovery. So even if Kareem hunt got the touchdown, if that scoop and score hadn’t been overturned, then it would be a one score game.!
@@TroyKnight12It was overturned though 🤷♂️ Kareem was in scoring position and sat down at the 8 not the same. One is a if the other is a was and he downed it and ran the clock. Like we’ve done several times it’s what Andy does. Running up the stats doesn’t matter to the Chiefs.
one thing to mention about those numbers, is they are relative to the competition. Chiefs had one of the toughest schedules in football this year. Can you compare that to the Texans schedule and their division?
Too many superior teams make too many individual mistakes and gift the chiefs wins, it’s bullshit and annoying. Not to mention the ref bias that’s obvious.
There is no “ref bias” 😂 that’s a hoax that has been debunked many times. People only say that because they hate that the Chiefs are the best in the league.
Good analysis, every time I saw a wide open pass, it was some sort of pick play concept. Big if, but if the Texans can cut that down they can play with kc straight up.
If Diggs and Dell were healthy I'd feel differently, but as it is there's about a 60% chance the Chiefs run away with it, and about a 90% chance of them winning outright.
Worthy and brown got open a lot against stingley and Lassiter in man and then even the speed outs and option routes worthy ran was getting open a lot but al shaeer didn’t play for Houston so that might help but Texans got nobody to beat man consistently except Nico and he only had 40 yards against us in week 16
Old guy here. I won’t be able to watch the game, being out of town for a family function. I hope KC wins and I’m pinning my optimism on several factors. The Chiefs have had a couple of weeks to rest and recuperate from a ton of injuries. There might be a return of CB2 Jaylen Watson, which would really help the KC defensive backfield. The Chiefs have home field advantage, so it’s a 2 game playoff system for a trip to SB IXL, and they are 8-0 at home this season. I believe the team is mentally done with the regular season and is refreshed and focused on the task ahead, with the opportunity to make history. A chance at the elusive 3peat is their ultimate goal. But the biggest reason is the fact that Andy Reid is an absolute offensive genius at scheming up plays to get certain players open in space, and he’s had 3 freaking WEEKS to essentially install his postseason offense with healthy weapons. The biggest question mark is if the LT position can be solidified enough to give MaHomes the time he needs to find open receivers. If that happens, look out and enjoy the fireworks!
The only "chance" Texans have is by the technicality that there are only 2 teams playing. Realistically no they stand no chance. That should be enough of an argument BUT if you want some more sure... In their last 10 games (counting chargers) they are 5-5, with the only GOOD wins being the Chargers and Cowboys (if you can call that a good win). Every time they play a true good team they get steamrolled. Have we so easily forgotten that at home just a few weeks ago they scored ZERO offensive points on the Ravens? Chiefs last 10 games 8-2 or 9-1, depending if you wanna count the scrimmage game versus the Broncos at the end. Plus it's at Arrowhead. Plus Chris Jones didn't play last time. Plus the Chiefs are all rested. Statistically speaking there is no path for the Texans, other than they are the only other team on the field.
Texans had excellent coverage against LA. The difference, though, is that KC's receivers as a collective are a LOT better than LA's WR corps. Not sure that the Texans can go man with Worthy, Brown and Hardman/Watson on the field at the same time. Yes, they have 2 great CBs. The problem, unlike with LA, is that KC has more than 2 great to very good WRs. And even should they cover them, Pacheco has 4.23 speed and Perine is also fast. That is going to create pressure on the back 7. Second, Mahomes has been getting the ball out faster, which mitigates the speed of Texas off the edge. It's going to be an interesting chess match between Reid and the Texans D.
@KWCline91 not overconfident, just absolutely confident. I wouldn't bet against them if I were you. Stroud showed who he was against kc not even a month ago and that was without Chris Jones and watson. Chiefs are a different team in the playoffs. Their 15-3 playoff record the last 6 years shows that.
Chiefs aren't the chargers. C.j. isn't mahommes.. chiefs totally rested. ARROWHEAD will be cold(no dome) and will be very very loud. Trust me. Cj has never experienced Anything close so far...
Everybody is gassing up the Texans because Herbert gave them 4 INTs. Their offense couldn’t move the ball until 2 minutes left in the 2nd. If they start that slow against KC they’ll get blown off the field. Without Dell they’ve got no juice on offense outside of Collins. Schultz is a decent TE but nothing special and Mixon is a good RB but not better than Bijan or Henry who they clamped. They’ve shown over and over again they know how to minimize DEs with quick game, screens, and the run game. Mahomes will get the ball out quick and they’ll efficiently move down the field. Pacheco and Hunt off this much rest will be able to bludgeon the Texans on the ground. The Chiefs have had one of the most efficient run games all season while being one of the least explosive. They also have not been turning over the ball. Without TOs they’ll be able to control this game just like they did last time…

Most people do not know or don't remember playoff MJ.
Chiefs spent the season looking for a working offense due to all of the injuries.
@@markb3786this. Mahomes was missing WR1, 2 and 3, and RB1
They definitely have a shot but they’re also big underdogs. I’m really rooting for them and hope they can do it but I’d be very surprised if they did

Nicely said. The drops last year affected it too
Losing Rice was a big blow to the chiefs.
They reloaded right away with dhop and they just got Hollywood back too
Texans in a blowout 37-10. mAHomEs throws 3 picks, Kelce is shutout.
Thuney actually played pretty well against Danielle Hunter last game
Texans gonna have a tough game against the Referees
😢 Poor guy, need a Binky???
Azeez Al-Shaair is the X-Factor this time. He didn’t play against the Chiefs and he’s basically the QB of that defense.

You have play against the referees also.
Yeah they might ignore a holding and OPI in the same play for a texan TD. Chiefs have to prepare for that.
The only way KC doesn't get punched in the mouth is if the refs get involved.
If Diggs and Dell were healthy I'd feel differently, but as it is there's about a 60% chance the Chiefs run away with it, and about a 90% chance of them winning outright.
