- Washington has partially lifted its ban on Ukraine firing US weapons across the border into Russia, but America is still not supplying Kyiv with its longest-range missiles.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said this is giving Moscow a sanctuary, allowing its air force to launch deadly glide bombs without even leaving Russian airspace.
As a low-cost, relatively low-tech stand-off weapons, the glide bombs have done much to transform Russian fortunes on Ukraine’s northern front.

I wonder how much more Ukraine could have done if the US had given them permission to strike within Russia a week before telling the whole world.
Quite a lot. It's about time the West started to escalate to de-escalate instead of waiting for Russia to make the first move all the time.

Partly more, but one needs to remember that IF it had happened, Russia would have moved further away from the border... and the result not that much different. The BIG thing however would be that it is slower for Russia to send troops, ammunition etc, if all stuff is further away.
One big flaw was the Republicans who decided NOT to send help to Ukraine for over a half year... that drained Ukrainian forces on ammo and stuff, and allowed Russia to push further in.
Well that’s exactly what did happen. I wonder what would have happened if they were allowed to strike from the outset of the war

if MIGs didn't work for Ukraine why F16 should do better?
F-16's have much better radar and agility. The biggest difference is all the modern western missiles and smart bombs they can carry. Russia has no answer for the incoming F-16s

It's hammering Russia without losing US lives as well as keeping the MIC running. Yes, Ukraine gets old weapons, it also gets new ones and as old stock is used, new is built to replace it.

Yes & No. I believe they are manufacturing the replacement. Much of the hardware the west seems to be giving Ukraine isn't the latest equipment including missiles.
The replacement for ATACMS has already been produced and the ATACMS we have sent Ukraine are roughly 30 years old

How these further bases are less dangerous for Ukraine?
Bases are used to store (ammunition for example), the CLOSER Russia (or anyone else) can have drones, fuel, shells, bombs, soldiers... the FASTER they are on the front if needed. So hitting even further in disrupts logistics.

Your weapons are many, from your police, your military and of course, your media. Aren’t you the rightful rulers of the world? You are the ‘good guys’, aren’t you? Any who might reduce your status must be the ‘bad guys’, right?
What a come down it must have been then, just as you had brought down the rival power of the Soviet Union and were glorying in being not just unipolar power in the West, but unipolar power now of the entire globe… that it all began to go horribly wrong. This couldn’t be, right? To have this supremely wondrous moment you had worked so hard toward for fifty plus years suddenly wrenched away from you only a few years after this momentous achievement. This was surely devastating.
Those you consider your remarkably lowlife inferiors, were rising fast and the glorious moment was spoiled for you. All those dreams of total, global, hegemony with all that tremendous power, influence and dignity, not to mention the still heightened status or all those additional perks that beckoned just a hand’s reach away. All slip sliding away…
It simply couldn’t be. It was unthinkable. This could not be allowed to stand.
And then September 11th 2001 dawned. The ‘Pearl Harbour Moment’ had arrived to save the day. Now you had an eminently good reason to hit back hard, to weaken the foes that sought to bring you down, and while you were at it, eliminate the big guys that had nothing to do with 9/11 at the same time. Glory beckoned once more. Where there was previously the slough of despond now there was new hope.
Like a shining white crusader knight you would slay every single dragon and save every princess… and assume your rightful place as emperors of the world.
It all seemed so doable. Besides, there really wasn't any alternative. It HAD to be done. And you commanded the most powerful military the world had ever seen. What COULDN’T you do? You were up for this and you had everyone behind you cheering you on. What could be better? Simply make a list of all those men, women, groups and nations who were trying to escape your power and smite every last one of them.

Who was going to stop you? In the western elite minds of the time the answer was no one.
It was decided there and then and the impulse is with us still. There is no other game in town. There is plan B. There is no reverse gear, no questioning of the goal, no doubt and no forgiveness for anyone seen to doubt. The faint of heart and all the Doubting Thomases were to be ousted from every corridor of power anywhere.
Only warriors were required now, burners of bridges, never builders. And of course zealots to the cause. All else was anathema and all else would be cauterized, surgically removed leaving only the hardened core dedicated forever to the cause.
We see the dedication every day that dawns. And we see the massive intolerance for those who deign to think, believe or state anything not corresponding to the “right” narratives, “right” agendas and the supreme mission The supreme mission to eliminate all opposition, to destroy all platforms that support that opposition and create the conditions where no possible opposition could ever again arise. Then they would have achieved their goal. They would feel safe and secure once more.
All would be well once more in their lofty world where their “ benign” control could be exerted without any sign of that irritating and dangerous thing, opposition. They would be back where they always “should” have been, in control, guiding the world on its path, ready always to smite any enemy that was foolish enough to raise its head. Back in power. Back to how things "should" be.

US bases that are located near countries unfriendly to the US are located all over the world, to which Russia could supply long-piercing weapons to destroy these bases.

Ukraine has allowed thousands of millitary vehicles and supplies to come over the kerch bridge for too long ! Why ? Somerhing strange. In ww2, the british divers would have planted charges all over the supports by now
Military cargo does not travel across the bridge; it travels through Donetsk and Lugansk.
Anyone that thinks military cargo doesn't cross that bridge is a couple cans short of a six pack

1, the Russians now have a railway built over land to supply Crimea.
2, they have a road over land also.
3, The Ukrainians fear catastrophic Russian retaliation by breaching the Dnipro dam, if the Kerch bridge is damaged.

They tried that, only Russian spetsnaz were waiting for them. Anyway the Ukrainians probably know that if the Kerch bridge is damaged the Dnipro dam will likely be taken out, causing unspeakable damage downstream to property and agriculture.

Russia only hit a single pair of PATRIOT launches (the cheapest, most easily replaced and non-critical part of a battery) AFTER Ukraine had been downing plane-after-plane for more than a month, including an AWACS before 🇷🇺 nabbed that pair. So, it’s inaccurate to portray that incident as if as soon as it was moved close to the front, it got taken out.
