I'm not certain he quieted down, as you could hear the engine noise increase at that same moment (possibly a fire truck arriving on scene?), so it might have just been drowned out.

trooper may have made a rookie mistake by assuming the perp wasn't acting ar being injured. trooper didn't make sure he was unarmed. guy could have pulled a piece and shot the trooper when he wasn't looking.

It would be very difficult to fake that kind of agony, plus it looked like his left leg was messed up plus may have had broken ribs or other internal injuries. Bless that old man in the white shirt who came to help, still had compassion even though the suspect's stupid actions got him in that predicament.

I fear that my view on this may not be welcomed considering some of the comments ive read so far, but here goes. I feel sorry for both the officer and the subject. I believe that no officer wants to cause harm or injury during an intervention, and this man, in my opinion as a nurse, was evidently in a lot of pain. I can't imagine someone faking injury and pain would endure lying face down on what must have been burning hot pavement just to sell his act. People who are seriously injured are many times in shock and can be inconsolable and incoherent directly after an accident, regardless of possible chemical influence. These videos are very educational and fascinating to watch. The ASP are top notch and skilled. I don't know any of them personally but I've watched enough videos of them to surmise the majority are kind hearted individuals and care about the people who make up their communities. I think they have compassion for others even if they break the law and understand that we're all still human.

Hey NST, I recently watched a thirty minute pursuit by the FHP, with a SUV through 3 Counties, multiple Spike Strip used, two wrecked units and he finally stopped to refuel. 16 Law Enforcement Officers, they actually DEAD STOP at all intersections, stupidity!
I live in Florida, they are horrible. Chased a runaway from a prison for 40-50 miles no pit no stop strips. I think she spun out and tried to back up and ran into FHP. It’s like the FHP cares more about their vehicles than stopping crazy people running 120 MPH.
They have to stop, or at least pause enough to make sure no vehicles are coming. The criminal doesn't care who gets hurt, but the police have to care. What if you were in a car ready to cross that intersection, wouldn't you want them to stop so they don't hit you?
That bridge is BAD. They spend millions in Harrison building side walks no one uses, but a bridge used my citizens everyday is allowed to deteriorate. I’m sure the local leaders will get around to it, but it will cost twice as much as it should and take twice as long.
