  • @meckelledaxon2334
    @meckelledaxon2334 8 месяцев назад +5

    First the waiting list for a vendor’s license is decades long with veterans being a priority and I believe there’s a two year wait list for them. Second the process isn’t easy to navigate if you’re not familiar. Third there is a list of qualifying items that can/can’t be sold in designated areas so if your product falls under certain conditions you can’t sell at all or in certain areas. Then there are blocks on other areas because other vendors have permits in that area and have locked it down so that’s another process and years long wait to get considered for that area.
    Now before you’re licensed to sell certain things in some cases you first have to get other licenses and certifications to do so,
    Now there are other applications for other types of vendor’s licenses like a temporary license but that limits where you can sell, what, and how many times a week.
    I could go on and on about the amount of regulations and cost associated with getting a license but I’ll let some of y’all continue to type and remove the doubt

    Why is people so bothered by street vendors? You rather have them stealing than making a decent living. Specially in a city like NYC? Everything is expensive. The vendors stay at the beginning of the bridge. They don’t stand in your picture if you walk up a bit more. We need to empathize more and even help these people. They are also providing for the economy because every penny spent means income for the city.

    Shutting the bridge down was good. Please be quiet, Mohammed. Blocking the bridge is an absolute safety hazard that shouldn't have been allowed to go on for so long. Personally, I don't even like incessant vendors everywhere. Makes the neighboorhood look like a third world. The city should put up a maximum number of allowed vendors (off-bridge) and stick to it. Any vendor that violates that will get their items seized. No exceptions.
