You saved us you angel! Thank you! Your video needs more attention bc this problem isn't simply a weak ignition release spring. It's happened to me before and I always needed to disconnect a battery cable to reset the system. Anyone know if this is a portion of the wiring harness that can easily be replaced? ☮️❤
Dude, you’re a life saver omg. My dad sent me this video after my car did this a couple months ago. Literally within seconds of shaking that cord the power is back on 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Man I thought I was the only one with this problem I do the same thing to get mine to come back on great video to show exactly how to fix it that’s what’s up
brooooo i have a 2012 Captiva and your vid was like the fourth i saw and then i was like, man, what if, you know? i saw some vids on a 2014 and even 2008, so i gave this vid a try. best believe i did what you did and it worked. thx man. saved me a heart attack lol
No problem bro 💪 I’m glad I could help , I noticed that even with the method I used to fix it , it got worse over time and started cutting off more frequently so be careful !
Somebody said it was the battery cable the negative one ....have a shop or mechanic check your battery cables and make sure they are the correct ones for your vehicle it’s a great car , this problem sucks tho
Ay bro my car did tha same thing and all i did was move the battery cable if it keeps doing it clean your battery terminals hope this helps mine was a 2000 Pontiac grand prix
My fiancé has the same car same problem. It’s your battery cable. It’s most likely your negative battery cable. Ours didn’t even have the correct battery cable in it and the dealer claims they didn’t change it and were never told it was changed
Wowww , I wish I had this car still mines broke down on the highway due to no oil ...the dealer was the last one to change my oil and said it was my fault smh 🤦♂️
Yeah I spent 10k on mine , it broke down due to some other problems , I think I ran out of oil idk , it happened on the highway , bunch of fluid came out the bottom and was on limp mode etc .
How is your car now and have you figured out a solution to fix it bc im having the same issue besides the key getting stuck. I tap the fuse box or jiggle where you said. Took to Chevy dealer and a couple mechanics and no one has an answer.
The engine blew up somehow on the way to work so it’s gone now (supposedly due to not changing the oil but I think that was a lie from the dealer I got it from ...., and the little wire I wiggles stop working after a while , but there is a big black thick wire by your battery ( should be connected to it ) on the right side ...I just starting pushing that wire in instead and electricity comes back on everytime , I think you should just start saving for a new car , it’s gotta be something electrical and no mechanic out here knew what it was either ...you would most likely have to get your whole car rewired properly ...and that alone is gonna be a lot of money , just for it to possibly not even work
Does anybody know what that piece is called? My car does this same thing but this trick only worked for a few months now my car turns off while driving /running. I’m thinking replace this piece What’s it called?

Nah haven’t found a way had to get a new car , maybe find a way to keep that wire in place
How did you get the key out of the ignition?
It worked 👍
I don't understand how they haven't issued a recall because of this. 😕
