everyone has looked at me as kind of a weirdo for wanting to live in a van, i live in Illinois and there isn't a whole lot of people that even know this lifestyle exists. I mainly want to do it because it seems so freeing to be able to go wherever i want and not pay for a hotel room. I play trading card games and events move all the time and i want to travel with them.
You don't owe anyone explanations for your life. The question is, Are you Happy? If that's the case, then ignore those who question what you do, and realize they're jealous of what you do. Perspective.
@@francoad i am happy my friends were just worried about me financially they weren't sure I was doing it by choice, most of the things said were out of legitimate concern for me and my well being.

10:02 when you're getting sauces out of a packet, cut the top off the packet, lay the whole sachet over the bowl, top it with a straight edge of a knife, and drag the packet through the flat of the knife and the rim of the dish. gets 99% 🤌
I learned this after ordering my transit van and living off ramen packets.
For the eggs mixture, you could try the same mix, but add lemon juice and chopped up pickled cucumber. It's super delicious

I'd love to watch you cook over an open fire again like you did with the Tomahawk Steak! How about 24 hours of only cooking on a open fire next time you're out in the wilderness again?

Glad you got to experience Sugar Grits! Their biscuit board sampler is one of my go-to brunch choices in Memphis.
The chapel in Big Cypress is actually the hotel lobby. It's a nice spot to do some people watching. I helped open the hotel as part of their hotel operations team and there were some interesting stories that came from my experience with this place!

I have seen a lot of these setups but yours looks exactly like something I'd want. Tall enough to walk in, big bed, gaming area... a stove to cook with.
In another 10 years lol when my kids are grown might look into this :P
Just finished getting all the way caught up from day 1 of the trip to day 15, and I'm almost bummed that I've got to wait another day for content. Ryan, please purchase a good can opener from Walmart next time you’re in there …. You can get one for around $5- the knife is too dangerous…… enjoyed Bas Pro pyramid…most of us are seeing sights we’ll never have a chance to see during our lives ……. The scenery🌲 is always spectacular ⭐️🎈🌎

I think its awesome that you are doing this. I am actually looking to do this now that I am retired! I laughed when you said you live in Maryland. Thats where I lived the first 30 years of my life and my family is still there in Calvert County loving life and I am in Southern California for 38 years now. I think it's great to get out there but you absolutely have to have some sort of protection to ensure you don't become a victim. Great job on the cooking and idea's for everyone to consider. I really thinking working with Marines gave me some great skills for survival and also security. Anyway keep charging on and you know, just dismiss the negative and go forth with the positive. Love Cracker Barrel too!
Just made the trip from Memphis, TN to Central NJ a few days ago (16 hour drive up the I-40 mainly) and believe it or not I was just there on Beale Street not too long ago. Good luck on your travels! Came across your channel a few days ago and ive been loving the trip
Come through Cookeville and we can go fishing! There are lots of cool rivers and camping areas close by here! Cookeville is between Nashville and Knoxville. Lettttsss goooooo!!

I've always wanted to go to that Bass Pro! I've drove past it before but never had time to stop. It actually used to be a basketball/event arena owned by Memphis that failed and then Bass Pro bought it.

Lots of disbursed camping in the national forests between Tennessee and Maryland. Not a lot of it on iOverlander unfortunately, I had to dig through the national forest sites to find them.
Also, I meant to comment one of the last videos, but if you put the strainer on top of the pot then tip the pot over, that keeps the food in the pot and might be easier to drain. And for rice, just look up Jo Koy's explanation on how to cook rice. Perfect everytime 👌

If you are coming through Ohio, I am in the north east area near Cleveland and right on an expressway. If you would like to spend the night in my driveway, welcome, there’s not much around Ohio for free camping. I am in a neighborhood but have an extra long driveway.

Stayed in pyramid on thanksgiving two years ago. Place is awesome and the suite was amazing. The top is a nice restaurant. You skipped out on the Peabody Ducks.
