It couldn’t possibly be because the taxi cab driver knows the last 6 guys to rob him were black

    • @bakersmileyface
      @bakersmileyface 4 года назад

Even if the past 6 guys that robbed him were black, it's not as though being black is what caused them to rob him. If you're not stopping because someone is black, that's racism or racial profiling. You're literally judging them because of the colour of their skin. So it's racism.

    • @bakersmileyface
      @bakersmileyface 4 года назад

@@boyswillbeboyz5589 So it's acceptable for people to racially profile if they had been robbed by people of that ethnicity?
Does that also mean that it's acceptable to refuse them service because of ethnicity due to a bad history with one person of that colour?
And refuse them employment? That's fine too I guess.
Refuse them from entering certain areas? Well if someone of that ethnicity robbed me, I guess it's perfectly fine if I block everyone of that ethnicity from going over there.
Refuse them their rights and freedoms?
Yep. Of course. One of them robbed me, it's only natural that all of them have their rights and freedoms revoked.
      Put them back in slavery?
Well they were asking for it. They robbed me!
      What shitty logic.
I don't give a damn whether he's afraid or not. Taxi driving is a risky business, if he doesn't want to pick people up and act like a professional then he should get a different job.
But not picking up people because of the colour of their skin is absolute nonsense. So what if he got robbed by a black person before? It's not like every black person is going to rob him.
What if a white person robbed him? Is he going to refuse white and black people?
If he keeps that up, soon he's going to be out of a job anyway since he'll be too afraid to pick anyone up.
The dude should stop being such a pussy and man the fuck up. I'll say it to that taxi driver as many times as he needs.
What he's doing is not reasonable to any degree. It's racial profiling. It's racial discrimination. It's wrong.
If he's a racist? Fair enough. Each to their own. I won't stop him from telling the world, it's none of my business. He has the right to say whatever he wants.
But if he stops serving people because of the colour of their skin, that's a problem. It's also illegal as per the anti-discrimination laws in the US which overrides the right to refuse service.

"Whites will never be profiled". I grew up in Toronto, Ontario, a relatively urban environment and the most diverse city on the planet. I grew up listening to hip hop and wore extremely baggy clothes. And I have been profiled by police and store owners more times than I could count. Just walking down the street was reason enough for police to pull me over, tell me to put my hands on the hood of the car, get frisked and questioned. This has even resulted in me being beaten by police badly enough for me to require hospitalization for no just reason, with no crime committed and no charges ever being pressed. Back when I dressed like that, when I entered a store, I would often be followed around, or at least closely watched. I have also been robbed walking through primarily black neighborhoods, mostly because I was a "white boy" as well. So I can safely say from my own experience, race isn't the only factor in profiling, nor are white people the only race that profiles others. As another commenter mentioned, if a black man in a suit with a pleasant demeanor approached a white women, MOST of the time, she would not be intimidated by him. If he was dressed like a gangster, she most likely would be. How you present yourself is as much if not more of a factor than race is. I'm not saying race isn't a factor at all, but if you feel you are being discriminated against, there are things you can do to change your image. I have since changed the way I dress myself, trading in my 4 sizes too big jeans for something more fitted, my long-tees in for a nice button up, my airforce 1s for black leather shoes, and my baggy parka's and hoodies for a peacoat, and I have since seemed to have garnered more respect from the random people I encounter. The mentality is also a factor. Back then, I felt like a thug, acted like a thug, dressed like a thug, and so was treated like, you guessed it, a thug. Changing your mentality is the single biggest thing you can do to combat the way people perceive you.

I was once followed around a store while shopping for a a pair of leather gloves. I knew I was being followed because once I suspected it I would move from 1 area to another and sure enough the employee kept moving to some spot where they could see me. I was dressed in a pair of dress pants with a tucked in dress shirt that hard the top button undone. Had on a nice pair of dress shoes. There were other people in the store too yet I was the one they were keeping an eye on. This has happened many time no mater what I'm wearing.
I have been stopped by the police many times asking me what I'm doing and where I'm going. While I was in college the police would stop me while I was waiting for the bus and ask me the same questions and what's in my backpack even though there were other people waiting too.

teXas N8 What i’m trying to get across is this is not only a race problem across North America, more specifically America, is that the police have been giving themselves the ‘right’ to kill not only innocent black people/poc, but also innocent white people as well. I’m only pointing out the fact that Black people get wrongfully killed, in-prisoned, and arrested way more then they should for only making up less then 15% of the population in America. This also leading to the fact that it can also happen to white people, who may i add only make about more the half percent of the population, can also get wrongfully killed and arrested as well. This racial issue has stemmed from white people, it it’s evolved to give people who have a certain title (police) more power just based on feelings alone. I feel like you should be agreeing with the corrupt police system by the argument you’ve given as white people also die wrongfully in police hands as well.

White privilege WAS, absolutely, ONCE a thing, and there are, of course, still residual effects of that, but, as things sit, the current status of societal law is color blind. I have no privilege that a black person my age doesn't, generally speaking, the same opportunities exist.
Now, of course, some people are born to richer and better educated parents, which affords more opportunities based on their ability to pay for them, but that includes blacks as well as every other race in existence in the United States.
I'm sorry, but it's intellectually bankrupt to argue this based on race, because it doesn't hold true across the entire color band. I'm not better off nor do I have any more inherent privilege than the children of Jesse Jackson, or Michael Jordan, both rich black men. I am better off and have more privilege than all people born into, and raised up through, poverty. This includes poor white people, though, proof of the failure of your theory. Seriously, it's not that hard to see, it has nothing to do with color, today, and everything to do with socioeconomical positioning. It's like that Dr. Seuss illustration... Some Hoos are Doos and some Doos are Boos and some Boos are Hoos... Something like that. It's designed to show, simplified, that there's no way to generalize with any competence. Everyone is an individual with their own unique sets of advantages and disadvantages. We can't choose how we're born, to whom, or in what circumstance, but we can choose to utilize the tools and opportunities around us and afforded to us all, to become whatever we want to be. For some that road will be more difficult, based on their own unique disadvantages, but, in current climate, through social standards provided for all (aka laws), there are no racially based hurdles. And the best thing about how color blind and truly just things are in today's America is that when we do find someone who abuses any position of power to commit or enact racial disparities, we use those righteous laws to punish them. More proof of how flawed this voluntary victim thinking is.
And I don't care what some blacks have to say because others say the exact opposite. So called "lived experiences" are very rarely more than skewed perceptions based on subjective views steeped in generations of false indoctrination and conditioning. People see what they want to see. I'm not invested in not feeling guilt, I just don't care, thus I see through the critical lense of objectivity. This voluntary victimhood climate we've cultivated is the only true barrier and problem we have. It needs to end, it is the last true issue in society, and it's perpetuated and propagated by an unintellectual, disingenuous and unnecessary guilt for crimes of the past.

White privilege does exist and the majority of people that deny it are whit, just because you had experience racism doesn’t mean you aren’t privilege are we going to ignore the advantage that white people have? Are we going to ignore our history? Since time white people have privilege and still have. For an example of white privilege:
Having the majority of the police favoring you
The advantage of being richer than most minorities because it has been proven that the majority wealth that a person has is by heritage and income and that’s when systemic racism goes in play
Majority of movies and books are in favor of you
Etc. You need to acknowledge your privilege for the good but that doesn’t mean that just because you have privilege it could be used as a racist tool or to bring you down

People say that everything I have is due to my race. Everything I achieve in my life isn't because I worked hard, it's because I'm white. Is that not racist? People say that I'm better off because I'm white, not because my parents worked hard to put their children in a place to succeed. My mother was a LEGAL immigrant from Europe. She earned her way into this country, found love, and stayed in a country that she truly loved. How does she have privilege? My father grew up in a small town, joined the military, and worked his way up the ranks, doing what he could to give everything he had to his family and country. How does he have privilege? It makes no sense to me that even if I work hard to get into my college of choice, minorities still have the priority for scholarships just for the color of their skin, not their qualifications. This is the problem with "white privilege".

But not ever did we go into great detail about SLAVERY... NEVER!! never did we discuss the horrific culture of hate that ...yes ..AMERICA MAINTAINED for hundreds and hundreds of years....
but what we all are wanting from White AMERICA is not their sympathy but their ownership of what occurred...their willingness to teach to our children what we were.... because then our children will be able to comprehend what we are NOW ....
and with that there has to be and open dialogue of how the slaves were freed...
What type of HATE those Slaves received by being place in Horrible environments like swamp like land and literally starting from NOTHING WITH NOTHING and NOTHING to look forward to...imagine 🤔
and these places were referred to as what we in AMERICA call “THE GHETTO” and just ask yourselves what Particular race resides in majority of “THE GHETTOS” in AMERICA?

Most white people have lived from pay check to pay check their entire life. If we commit a crime we get arrested. If we apply for a loan our color is not a factor. If we apply for a job our color is not a factor. America has come to equal oppertunity for all races. You are confussing something long gone for "Wealthy Elite Privilege". My people instead of us being angry at the gentleman, insulting him, being frustrated with him, as if he is the one who gives racist cops, guns, and badges to kill our people... We should give the man credit... Most white ppl would not have strong enough balls to stand up, & say this out out loud, better yet on camera. Yes what he is saying does hurt us as Brown people, it sounds extremely unfair, but the man should be RESPECTED for telling us how majority, NOT ALL, but majority of White ppl really feel instead of being fake as hell & sugarcoating shit for us like we are stupid. The first step of fixing ANY problem, or issue is to acknowledge that it exists. The man have given us the ingredients on how, we can help ourselves, and some of my people are complaining, and insulting him????? Come on now... Never make a decision, or a speech when you are furious.

I am ashamed of my own lack of ability to empathize. When I could finally grasp the idea of white privilege, it was because I could relate it to the way I feel being a woman sometimes. "You should not look so attractive if you do not want to be harassed by your boss" is EXACTLY the same as "you shouldnt look so suspicious if you don't want cops to harass you". Gosh I hope the humanbspecies evolves soon to something more pleasant

My great grandfather didn't pass us wealth on by being white...he survived four battles in the worst war in history and came home worked his ass to the tail bone living on the bare necessities and saving up, I swear to you he was 12 hours away from dying behind a push mower with a paint brush in his back pocket..always worked up to the day of his death

If I were to see these two men in a room and I had to befriend one and call the police on the other, I would befriend the guy on the left.
The guy on the right looks shady as fuck.

Skolnik is no blue blood no matter what he claims. He looks like a low bred thug. As a taxi driver, I would never stop to pick him up. With decorum and civil comportment comes great privilege.

Hi, I'm french (I specify for my bad orthography) and I have a way to show for sure to people who think in the way of "white privileges" that they are wrong. Ask them : "Does this mean that the day black peolpe will be in majority in the USA, they will be privilegied and will have to apologize ?"
    Two possibles answers :
    1) Yes --> So the person systematically think that race who is dominant in society is privilegied, and to stop these privileges, his goal is naturally that races become in equal percentage in society --> That's directly discriminant towards the race in majority in the society, which is asked to stop doing babies or to do with other races --> racist
    2) No --> So when white are in majority, they are privilegied and need to apologize, but when blacks are in majority they aren't privilegied and don't need to apologize --> racist
Conclusion : people who affirm white privileges do exist have a racist thinking without wanting it, please expose this to them and show them the absurdity of what they're saying. Thank you.
