it only really occurred to me after i got into the dirty three as opposed to solely cat power how great her singing is on this song. It's so powerful, I didn't understand that until now and I can't really explain why I didn't feel that before. This is a Cat Power that we probably won't hear again.

The director is an idiot. Thinkin "Hmm, I'm gonna shoot a video with Chan Marshall and I'll make it blurry" is about as dumb as bringing Nathalie Portman to Auschwitz for a Neo-Nazi rally and hoping she'll agree to ATM after. What he should have done is insisting on Chan doing a "Miley Cyrus"-thing with the video. Shown her growth as a woman. Love Cat Power BTW!!! THX & may the south rise again! Peace from Sweden!
Less is more as far as I'm concerned. I think the video is masterful and matches the music beautifully. Given DT's artistic bent, I reckon that's just the way they wanted it.
