This is a *very* silly question, but are all of these hardtops removable? I have seen one for sale nearby, and it appears to be a hardtop, but I am not sure whether or not it is removable.
My pin won't disengage once the window stile lever is moved rearward. The smaller handle has no tension in it so it is stubbornly stuck lose but not free.

If your garage has the height, an electrical hoist bolted to a ceiling beam makes the job so much easier.
I have a hand-crank hardtop hoist, and it works great.

All SL hardtops are removable, but Mercedes-Benz also manufactured an “SLC” variant which has a longer wheelbase and a fixed roof.
I have had my 560SL for 2 days and still can't get the bolt behind the driver to fully rotate. The passenger side and back free up as designed.

So removal is a two person job for sure in my case....
